Main rules
1) No spamming the forums. This also includes posting for posting's sake, and not adding to discussion.
2) Chatspeak is frowned upon. Don't even try it.
3) Don't bump topics more than a month old, unless you have something genuinely worthwhile to add to it. Basically, follow rule 1. Otherwise, there is no age limit on any thread.
4) Regarding comments and criticism on others' work: Negative criticism will not be tolerated. Constructive criticism is encouraged, but if a member requests no critiques, keep them to yourself.
4b) It is encouraged that whenever giving even a positive comment to others' works, you state some detail or at least a reason why it appeals to you. Anything similar in content, or length to "Nice pic" is considered spam.
5) Keep swearing to a low level. Mild-mannered venting of frustration may be tolerable. Word filters are already in place, but evading them is a good way to incur the wrath of the board staff.
6) When making a topic, make sure you post it in the right sub-board. If you're unsure where to put it, use your best judgment. The worst thing that could happen is that somebody will move it to the right board.
7) Keep all content G or at most PG13. That includes any reference to drugs and alcohol as well.
8) Blatant advertisements of other forums in topics and posts is strictly prohibited. Such advertisements are only allowed within signatures, or your profile. Advertisements in topics will be removed on sight.
9) Topics solely for singling out members, flaming, "rant" topics, and obscenity will incur the wrath of the board staff.
Profile and Image Rules
1) Don't direct link images that are larger than 800x600. If it is any larger, post a text link instead. It helps keep the forum running faster, and doesn't distort the board.
2) Signature sizes must be no larger than 650 x 150, and no more than 150KB.
2b) On this note, don't stack images in your signature, don't post large unnecessary quotes, and avoid other annoying things such as flashing images, and the <marquee> bbcode.
Signature images breaking the rules will most likely be erased on sight, and will be replaced with a reason explaining why it was removed.
Admin/Moderator Rules
1) Don't beg for Mod status. If you ask for it directly, it's a good way to ensure you never become a Mod, ever.
2) No backseat modding. If somebody is breaking the rules or otherwise being an idiot, use the Report feature or contact one of the board staff.
3) If you have a problem with anything, feel free to PM any of the board staff on hand. We will help as best we can.
4) The Admins have final say on all board activity.
Warnings and Bans
Warnings are for when a member disobeys the rules, or otherwise persists in rule-breaking. Offenses which can incur a warning are, but are not restricted to:
- Spamming
- Trolling
- Flaming
- Harassing a member either on the board, or via PM
- Evading the word filters / Excessive swearing
- Ban Evasion
The warning system uses a percentage rating of 0-100%. Warnings issued will add to your rating, while periods of good behaviour will reduce it. Bans may be issued depending on the rules broken. Upon hitting 100% warning, a permanent ban will be issued. Anything considered serious enough by the staff enough will bypass the warning system entirely and result in an instant permanent ban.
