As I'm sure most people won't have any idea what Minecraft is, Minecraft is a java game where you get to build stuff out of blocks, with other people. It plays better than it sounds, honestly. So what I was thinking on the IRC last night, was that we should get a Yoshi's Corner server going for this so we can build some awesome stuff, or something like that. Hopefully, without flooding the entire world with lava. So I set one up, last night. I work fast. First off, you'll need to register an account over on www.minecraft.net , then jump in on our server located at tr.im/ycminecraft . It's worth joining, because you can make all sorts of neat junk, this not included: Don't destroy other peoples creations though, thats exceedingly poor conduct. Also, try not to flood everything by digging randomly. image size be damned

Lol, I know what you mean about it playing better than it sounds. Whenever I try to explain Peggle to people and tell them that the purpose of the game is to shoot a ball at all of the pegs to light them all up, they're always a bit wierded-out. The fact that the in-game avatar they give you is a unicorn doesn't help the situation. So it's like an MMO type game where you can just build whatever you want? it sounds like it could be fun to see how everyone's contributions come together. Unfortunately the is down right now so I can't check it out .

Basically, everything in the game is made of blocks and you can build pretty much anything as long as you have the patience. I already made fairly lacklustre castle on it, but it does have a fancy underground lava river below which I'm hoping doesn't flood. Again.
What exactly is down? Myself and Lazo have been playing it for the past while on my server with no trouble.

Well, I thought the Minecraft site was down at first, I got an error when I clicked the link, but when I typed in the URL it was fine.
Anyway, it sounds fun, and a lot more in-depth than I thought if there's things like flooding you have to worry about.

Looks like Proboards added the period onto the end of the url, it should work fine now.
As long as you don't go digging around underground randomly - like I did - you shouldn't really have to worry about flooding the place. Besides, its not like there isn't enough room to build stuff above ground. If you feel the need to go spelunking you can always place sponges as you go to minimise the risk of flooding, by pressing B and adding them to your inventory.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing some pics on dA from this game, it looked pretty interesting, but I never checked it out myself. Sure, I'll try it.
