After several searches on the internet spanning a couple of hours and unable to reach an answer, I come to one forum that I found out did use the Fractalcast Network after fishing around on the internet. What happened to it? Is it gone forever?

Site is undergoing a rebuild. Is it just that you can't reach the Java client? (Progress is stalled until the weekend coming, might be an idea to grab an IRC client such as mIRC or XChat and use it to connect to "rr.fractalcast-networks.net".)

This is all I get:
Notice: Undefined variable: article in C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\index.php on line 59 Article does not exist.

Yep, that is because the Java client isn't ready yet. I'll be ready to get that back up and running before the weekend kicks off. There's a lot that needs changing around to work with the new styles.
In short, it'll be back before the weekend, and if you can't take the wait you can always join the network using an IRC client.

Tried both. Every time I open them after I download them, all I get is a text box with a lot of fancy letters in it. BTW, I have a Mac.

Which network do I connect to once I get it on?

You might need to add us to the list. Add a new network, for a name, use "FRX" or the full "Fractalcast Networks". The server you'll want to connect to is rr.fractalcast-networks.net, and the default port of 6667, and thats all there is to it. Get a list of channels using the command:
/list
...then do /join #channel to get chatting.

It is anyway, just use a real IRC client until the Java one is ready. I'm working on the Java client right now so have a little more patience. I do have a day job I fit all this round.

I know that you have a day job and I am not rushing you, but I am only asking. Did you run into problems? If so, take your time.
