Karth shrugged. "I don't be thinkin' he be shy if he be willin' to travel with a group, aye."
As travel continued, the weather started getting slowly worse overtime. As it started to sprinkle, Champ seemed to enjoy it. Some others did not so much, though.
"We're gonna find shelter here soon or what?" Slug stated, shielding his head from the rain.
"Right, right... there, up ahead, do you see it?" Champ replied, pointing ahead.
"Ah, aye, I do laddie. There be a cave down there, let's git movin'!" Karth said.
They broke into a jog toward the cave structure, which looked rather ordinary on the outside. Inside however it was of course dark, and a light source would be needed to see inside for those who weren't good at seeing in the dark to begin with.

Teal brought out a lantern. He was a bit nervous about lighting it but he did. It illuminated the cave for everyone to see. Teal immediately looked at the cave walls, floor, ceiling, and he glanced down deeper in the cave as far as the light would reach. He was checking to see if anything would be covered in insects and if anything would be disturbed by his light.

"Hopefully just us," Yoshiken replied. He brought up his hand and conjured up a ball of fire, providing more light to the surrounding area. "However, I could always go deeper in and check, assuming that there is a deeper part. I would rather not go alone though, just in case. Anyone willing to come along?"
Yoshiken could keep the flame bright on his palm for a good while. It was small, and didn't take much energy out of him.
"Someone should probably stay and take up the position as a watch. Who knows? The real danger could be what is outside of the cave rather than on the inside," he stated, staring out into the storm.

"Yeah I'll go, I'd like to see what could be in here." Teal said before setting his lantern down to keep some light for those who are staying. When he approached Yoshiken's fire he felt a tingly feeling. His eyes dilated but when he went closer his figure began to distort looking like he was "pixel-fading" slightly. Remembering what the doctor said about his layer of magic he said, "Um...I don't think I should actually...wish I could go though..." Teal sounded a bit disappointed, he went back with the others.
He wondered if anyone noticed his reaction.

Teal took a deep breath and explained, "I'm covered in a stable layer of magic that apparently keeps me alive. When I'm wounded it will heal me over time. Just think of it as my natural healing ability is a little quicker than normal. It seems like I had this for quite a while even before I lost my memory. When I'm near other forms of magic they seem to interfere with mine so it distorts."
His eyes wandered. "Did I lose anyone while explaining that? In other words don't worry about it too much."

"I think so...it seems that way so far. Another thing is this magic is nearly impossible to dispel...possibly the only one who can do that is the one who put this spell on me. But who could that be? I wonder what I was before I became a Yoshi." Teal said before sitting down. He opened the satchel to look through his supplies. He had fruit bar rations, a medical kit that has enough supplies to treat a few major injuries, lantern fuel, rope, solar blanket, flint, compass, and a few other various things.

There wasn't anything of note to see at the time being, likely requiring a trip further inward.
Karth walked up to Yoshiken. "Aye, I'll go with ya laddie."
Champ waved dismissively. "Feh, you do that. We'll stay right here for the time being."
(Hey guys, little OOC note. I'm not gonna be able to post after this until late Sunday or Monday. A family member of mine passed away recently in a motorcycle accident and I have to attend funeral services. Thanks for understanding. I know it hasn't been going very quickly lately but frankly I'm still settling into the idea of taking someone else's ideas and trying to play them out in a way that I think they would like rather than doing something of my own creation so I hope everybody understands.)

"Be careful guys." Teal said to Yoshiken and Karth as they left.
Teal put the lantern up on a rock. He sat by it and read from his book. He started reading more about Yoshies and found out that his dark teal color is particularly rare. "Not a single person mentioned this to me...I wonder if I just look like a normal green Yoshi to most people. I've noticed that my color doesn't really stand out unless I'm in bright light." He thought to himself.
(I'm sorry to hear that...same thing happened to my cousin. Take it easy for now.)

(I think you are doing quite well with taking over the story Strangie.)
Yoshiken and Karth continued on into the depths of the cave, constantly stopping to scan their surroundings. The sound of the rain outside became more and more faint as they traveled deeper into the cave.
"So Karth..." Yoshiken said, struggling to find a way to explain what he wanted to. "Have you had the feeling at all that this mission is much larger and more complex than what we know? I mean, I know that it isn't necessary that we have every little bit of information, but I just feel that we have been completely left in the dark with this job. I still can't say that I really trust the League, or even Champ for that matter. Maybe I am just crazy..."

"No. I started adventuring when I walked into this weird-ass meadow, where some Yoshi was annoying this other Yoshi, and then we got chased around and we hid, and this other Yoshi, named Law came and did battle with the annoying Yoshi then offered to take me out on a date." Syleena said.
