The Adventure Never Ends

[Teal]

Teal paused for a moment then said. "Awkward...A Yoshi asked a human out on a date...right after such a situation. Sorry but I just kind of find that a little strange..."

Teal went ahead and finished up the book. "You know...I get the feeling what the doctor said was false...even then...he did say he wasn't completely sure that I was something else. I just wonder what this...human is that I see in my visions."

Then he went on to examine his new spear. The end was designed for stabbing and slicing and the shaft was made of a metal. He got up and went a distance away from everyone else and went into an attacking stance. He practiced some jabs and swings. Although the spear looked quite heavy he didn't seem to have any trouble using it. He demonstrated a wide horizontal swing that covered a lot of range since he did it using one hand.. "Heh...I can attack multiple enemies by doing this."

Moot stayed around the entrance to the cave, just in case anyone or anything decided they'd want to use this cave for shelter, too. He figured a good pair of ears would be useful to hear anything over the rain outside. He kept watch outside, and replied to Teal without turning around. "I don't do 'adventures' generally... This would be the first time I've had chance to go off on one by myself for a long time. Usually they're forced upon me...and even then I wouldn't call them 'adventures'. More like 'forced government work'."

He half turned around to face Teal. "That's a long story and I'm not particularly interested in going into it in depth right now." His ears folded back slightly, but was more involuntary than anything else. "Needless to say there was a lot of ugly, ugly business that I ended up taking care of. That also explains why I'm not a great fan of getting into fights. Constant fighting to the death can take it out of you... Yep." He turned away again, and went back to keeping an eye out for any funny business outside.

(Uh. Dude? Syleena is a Yoshi. And I don't think it was a date. I think that Strangie was just having him be a good chaperone. And he is a Yoshi also.)

Syleena simply gave Teal a weird look that said "I'm a Yoshi" and then looked back. "I'm sure that some places that have humans asking out and marrying Yoshis."

[Teal]

((Oh...very sorry about that. I must've gotten character descriptions mixed up. You never said she was a Yoshi so I thought she was a human this whole time like Greg. I must've overlooked 'light green skin.' Then who the heck are the two at the bottom of this picture? The note didn't make sense to me because I still thought that was Greg and Syleena. Need to scratch that first paragraph of my last post then because Teal has no reason to say that otherwise.))

Teal spun the spear and put it on his back. Then he faced Moot and said, "Well I don't like fighting to the death. I only fight to defend myself and my allies. I do resort to intimidation when needed if my enemy won't back down or seems to want to fight to the death. I am reluctant to kill. I actually feel remorseful for blinding that mouser back at the forest. I do like to fight competitively though."

Teal sat down by the lantern again. "Now I know I like to travel. I feel like I've done thousands of journeys like this. After this 'government work' is done expect to see me move along travelling to other parts unknown."

(Don't know how the hell that happened. She is a YOSHI. I may have screwed something up but she was never a human.)

"I only fight when I need to fight and I don't wanna kill. Just disable them." Syleena said.

[Teal]

"So...where are you guys from? Karth mentioned that he's from Shiver City. Apparently I'm not even from around here...since no one recognized me so far." Teal said while crossing his arms and leaning the back of his head against the cave wall. "Alternately...why are you guys doing this 'government work' anyway if it was voluntary?"

Teal had a random thought, "In the city I met this wealthy Rex...he looked strikingly familiar to the leader Rex that we encountered in the forest. I wonder if they are related."

[YoshiAgent]

Greg wrote: "I was raised in a small town called Ryn. As for this mission, I was hoping to be payed for this. Now there's no telling if I'm getting payed or not, but I have nothing better to do than to follow you guys around. I might as well finish this job with you guys, and hope to get something out of it."

"Born and raised in Tick Tock Clock. Don't ask, but all I know is that it is somehow possible." Syleena said.

[Strangie]

(And we're back! Thanks for dealing with my mini-hiatus there)

Karth shrugged at Yoshiken's paranoia. "Aye, lad. Methinks somethin' big is goin' down, can't put me fin on it, though..."

As Yoshiken and Karth approach further down the tunnel, through Yoshiken's light, something can be seen approaching from inside the cave... a sharp object being lobbed in Yoshiken's direction, a hand axe to be specific. Past that, four shadowy, tall figures can be see at the edge of Yoshiken's illumination.

"Incoming, lad!" Karth shouted as he saw the weapon approach.

Meanwhile, near the entrance to the cave, a curved door suited to fit with the cave's contours and disguise itself from the outside slid down over the entrance, sealing everybody else inside.

"Ooh, we're in trouble now..." Slug remarked.

Champ merely facepalmed.

[Teal]

Teal quickly got up and held up the lantern with his left hand. He grabbed his knife with his right. "Hmm...now what..." He faced the direction that Karth and Yoshiken went. Teal can only use his secondary weapon at this time since he's holding the lantern.

"Yeah. How about you stop face palming and help US." Syleena hissed at Champ as she got out her dagger.

[Moot]

Moot started back a little, taken by surprise at the door sliding shut in his face. "...Huh. Well that was something. Guess I won't need to watch the entrance any more." He turned to face the rest of the group and drifted on over to them, shoving past Syleena. "Unless Champ here has hydraulic lifting arms, there's probably not much he can help with here."

He pointed along the route that Karth and Yoshiken had set off on previously. "Considering our entrance is now a dead end, we should set off down this way. Assuming for a second that we're actually in some sort of trap here, we should probably catch up with those two other guys. For all we know there could be shenanigans going on at the other end of this cave, too." He carried on down the path, the darkness evidently not much of a problem for him.

[nitrostraggler]

"Douchebag." Syleena thought to herself and decided to look around then catch up to the others. "I just hope they haven't run into anything bad."

[Teal]

"Well there's no point in staying here...let's go catch up with them," Teal said. He followed Moot while holding the lantern providing light for those who cannot see in the dark.

[Yoshiken]

"What the...!" Yoshiken just barely jumped out of the way of the incoming hand-axe, almost losing his footing and falling to the ground. "Who's there!?"

Yoshiken increased the size of the flame in his end, hoping to fully illuminate the attackers, emitting more light at the cost of using more energy. He took hold of his katana with his other hand. "With only having one hand to fight, I am definitely at a disadvantage here."

[nitrostraggler]

"That would be the best thing to do." Syleena said. Then turned to Champ. "Try to keep up. I know how you are willing to get us all lost."

[Strangie]

"Whatever," Champ said as he started to move with the others. Slug also armed himself with his barbed bat and began to proceed forward.

The group that was hanging about at the entrance see a handaxe that had clattered to the ground. Up ahead, they see Yoshiken holding his light spell in one hand and his sword in the other, and Karth with his dagger out nearby. Everybody can see, with Yoshiken's extra lighting, four Koopas with headbands and a variety of axe-based weaponry - two of them are armed with dual handaxes and the other two are armed with a long staff with an axehead at the end known as a halberd.

"Boy, I sure do love it when they stumble into our trap like that," one of them says, as he lobs both of his handaxes at the same time, one aimed at Yoshiken again and the other aimed at Karth.

"Ach!" Karth says as he jumps up, flailing his fins a little as the axe lands under him. "Yoshiken! Is that magic yer usin' to make that flame? I can take control of it for ye if ye let me, and free up both of yer hands!" He reaches over and holds his fin out.

[Teal]

Teal began to feel tingly again when they approached Yoshiken and Karth. "Yep that's them all right..." Teal said before looking down at the thrown axe. "They must be under attack! Come on we need to help them!" Teal began to run up closer to them. "Not going to let that magic bother me..." he thought. He saw another axe come flying at his face. "AH! Look out!" He ducked and the axe traveled over him flying at whoever was behind him.

Syleena looks around to see which one would be the easiest to subdue first, then charges that one.

[Strangie]

As Syleena barged past Yoshiken and Karth to take the fight to the enemy, one of the dual axe bandits was caught off guard. However, one of the other halberd wielding bandits was waiting just for this moment, and jumped out in front of his comrade, lowering his halberd so the pointed end on top of the axe head is level with Syleena's midsection and then thrusted it right at her as she charged in order to skewer her.

"Big mistake," was all he said.

"These guys are serious! We've got to be more careful..." Slug said. The rest of the group had caught up to Karth and Yoshiken by now.
