"Wow, what a great way to begin!" Ra says as he smiles cracks his knuckles a few. He starts to mumble a few words to himself before stopping for a brief moment and saying, "Oh, right. Would it be alright if someone would protect me while I chant?" He gives a nervous smile of some sorts and moves towards the middle of the group, then closes his eyes begins to mumble to himself once more.

Greg wasn't in a hurry to meet the writer of the letter he received. For one, he questioned the reasons for meeting on the "bad side of town." And who wrote it? He couldn't trust whoever wrote the letter yet, so he took his time. After a bit of searching, he found the dollar store. No effort was needed to identify the lettersender. Still, he kept a good distance between himself and the unknown figure, and tried to make himself unnoticed.
Greg looked at his surrounding terrain. He had two streets behind him, both of which could be used to flee. There were also fire escape stairs on the building next to him, which he could climb if the two streets behind him were closed. Adjacent to the stairs was another building, this one low enough that someone could jump from the escape stairs to the low roof. This was another viable escape plan. Greg looked back at the dollar store.
People gradually gathered around the mysterious figure, and Greg kept on watching, safe on the sidelines. The group abruptly became tense, something had unsettled them. Was it the wind of a battle approaching? Most likely the case, thought Greg.
Now, would he help them? Greg considered. He was a fair distance away from where this skirmish would occur. With this, he had an excellent position, especially since he used a bow. The space between him and the group was long enough that if enemies started taking notice to him, he could run, or maybe even pick them off. Yes. He took out his bow and stringed it.

Champ smirked and slid back as the figures closed in from all sides. They were humanoid in shape and dressed completely in dark brown, with glowing yellow eyes. Their movements were stiff and awkward, as if their clothes were too tight. They were armed with bats and were speedy even if stiff. Two immediately leaped for Karth and Yoshiken, two more for Mira and Syleena, and one each for Ra and Moot. There was one extra standing around looking lost that Champ frowned and punched in the shin after a moment. Its leg sparked, shattered with a crack, and the figure went down.

"Arright, here they come!" Karth readied for his counter attack as one of the figures leapt for him. With a quick feint, he pulled his dagger back as if to strike when the figure was on him - however, he delayed, and opted to sidestep the attack instead, doing a quick pivot on one foot, planting the other foot down and pivoting on that one, and then attempting to strike at the figure's backside with his dagger. He didn't know how perceptive these attackers were to such tricks, but seeing how easily Champ dispatched one of them, thought it'd be worth a try to end this quickly.
If his attack landed and caught the opponent off-guard, he would steal one of their magical powers - if they even had any. Karth figured they probably didn't, likely just being simple hooligans, but if the opportunity presented itself, he saw no point in not trying anyway.

As the creature lunged at Syleena, she grinned at her and got ready to attack and when one got close enough, she slashed it across the face and then stabbed them in the side.

"Oh what the f--" Moot was cut off as one of the brown things awkwardly lunged at him with a bat. He slid backwards before the thing - which could have been a construct for all he knew, considering the sparks he'd noticed another give off - landed its attack, bat uselessly smashing into the ground.
"What sort of club is this? The 'Beat Everyone With Clubs' Club?" He said, to nobody in particular. Being attacked suddenly by some lumbering figure didn't really give him much change to come up with any snarky witticisms. Deciding that being pummelled wasn't the best way to start - and possibly finish - the day wasn't a good idea so quickly drew his scythe from what looked like nowhere out of a cloud of purple smoke and proceeded to slash at the thing. Whether or not the brown thing saw this coming or not Moot didn't know, but either way it managed to jerk out of the way leaving the air next to it neatly slashed, instead.
Not wasting any time, Moot closed up to the thing and made the next shot count, swinging his scythe to try to carve a sizeable gash across its front, assuming it didn't dart out of the way again.

Greg knocked an arrow, took aim, and sent an arrow at one of the figures clad in brown. The target's awkward movement made the arrow miss though, and another brown bat-wielders took notice to the arrow that whizzed by. The archer fired another arrow as the brown clad figure approached, and Greg was sure it would hit. It did, though not in the way Greg had expected. The arrow bounced off, leaving the person with the club unhindered and he closed in on Greg. What was going on...?

Syleena kept on slashing and hacking away as people kept on lunging at her. "You know anytime you want to cal the dogs off would be nice because this is getting redundant."

As one was focusing itself on Karth, the other strange attacker concentrated on Yoshiken. The figure approached oddly, with no set pattern in its movements. Yoshiken stayed completely still, with his eyes always on his target. As soon as the figure was near, it lunged forward with its bat, swinging downwards with a decent amount of speed.
Yoshiken didn't know what kind of a creature this was, and did not want to kill it unless he felt that he had to. He parried the bat to the left, grabbed his empty sheath with his right hand, and thrust it forward into the abdomen of the figure. He then swiftly flipped his sword around, and smashed the hilt into the side of the individuals face.
The figure staggered back a few steps, only to recover and start approaching again, or so it appeared. Yoshiken assumed that this test would end after a simple show of abilities, but that didn't seem to be the case. He once again got into the same stance that he had before, ready to attack in a harsher way than before. "Champ, I would really appreciate it if you told us what the heck was going on!" He hollered, not taking his attention off of his enemy.

Champ simply smirked at Syleena, then Yoshiken in reply, but let his face drop into a disturbed scowl as soon as he was sure they were occupied again.
The figures were not magical in the least, and any weapons made a loud clank as they left dents in the figures. Karth's figure was stabbed in the back and stumbled forward, but its leg flew up in a backwards kick at Karth's face. Syleena's opponent exploded in a shower of sparks, scorching anything within three feet. Her continued efforts were less fruitful, though, the figures only being scratched with loud metal-on-metal squeals. Moot's scythe left a long gash in his figure's clothing. Unfortunately, it also left a piercing metallic shriek in its wake. Like nails on a chalkboard. Yoshiken had left a sizeable dent in his own opponent's face, but that didn't quite stop it. Its eyes were clearly damaged as it swung its bat haphazardly and made a second advance.

Karth pivoted to the side to dodge the kick, having been on the foes' side to begin with which made dodging the awkward attack that much easier, tearing the knife out forcefully and whirling around again to try and hamstring his attacker, delivering a knife slash to its kneecap of the leg that was still on the ground. He winced at the metallic grinding his other friends induced on their foes. "Aye, they're just freakin' bots, I think!"

"If these things are bots, then how do we stop them." Syleena said as she kept her slashing up to defend herself.

Mira lets out a quick raspy yell as she charges into one of the black figures, grabbing its head and lowering it downwards to slice it open in the abdomen with her chainsaw's blades. It is a a quick motion sideways, then a jab forwards to attempt to sink it in to tear apart its insides.

Moot winced a little from the metal on metal screeching his attack produced, having sensitive hearing wasn't always an advantage. "Oh, robots. It's always robots!" He was about to attempt to hack the constructs head off when a sudden horizontal swing from it threw him off balance, causing Moot to raise his scythe handle to deflect the blow away. The robot was caught off guard this time - if robots could even be caught off guard, anyway - leaving it's weapon arm in an easily attackable position.
Moot swung his scythe right into the robots shoulder area, fully expecting a shower of sparks and a neatly severed robotic arm as the result. There were sparks, as well a dull clang but no detached arm as his scythe stuck fast in it's shoulder. The robot twisted back around, wrenching the grip out of Moot's hands. "Oh. Well that's just great." The robot geared up for another strike, but with a full sized scythe sticking awkwardly out of it's shoulder, the robot was unbalanced, and it's attack landed nowhere useful as Moot easily sidestepped it.
Backing off a little, Moot resorted to Plan B - unpocketing his prototype energy weapon, and levelled the sights at the robot, which was still trying to get back into a favourable position. He quickly loosed off a couple of blasts at it, which would hopefully prove more effective than attempting to hack parts off of it.

Syleena started to search for a weak point on the robot that she could cut into.

By this time, Greg had already switched to using armor piercing arrows to break through whatever armor was protecting this person. Or creature, thought Greg. It already had a number of armor piercing arrows stuck in the front of its torso. The brown clad warrior didn't seem to be bothered by the sticks protruding from its chest though. It was moving pretty quickly too; Greg definitely couldn't outrun it. Greg went for the fire escape. Greg shot up the stairs and was about to jump to the other roof, when he noticed that one of the steps was very loose. He ripped it off. An idea came to him. With the metal step in hand, Greg jumped to to the adjacent roof, the brown clad figure close behind. As the attacker was about to land on the roof, Greg took a swing at it with the metal step, hoping this hit would be enough to end the chase.

With Syleena's efficient hacking and slashing through all five of the figures (One had taken off for Greg) and everyone else's help, the robots were quickly dispatched. They dropped their weapons and fell in an impressive shower of sparks. Champ stood with an incredibly plastic smile on his face, beaming out at the rest of the group. "Well! I guess you guys passed the test. Because this, uh, was a test. With your friend way back there on the fire escape. 'Cause there were... seven. Is there, er, anything you guys might need before we leave. You might want to get it now. Bathroom breaks, toothbrushes, towels, anything." He immediately turned to drift down the road and wait at the edge of town without looking at any of them.

Yoshiken watched as each robotic foe fell into its own sea of sparks. He sheathed his katana, but kept a light grip on the hilt. He looked around at the variety of allies that were also involved in the fight. He couldn't remember the last time he worked with such a colorful group. He couldn't complain though, because it was better than not having any allies at all.
After Champ made mention of remembering common necessities, Yoshiken made sure to double-check his own pouches. Everything that he needed was there, as he had thought. Years of constant traveling left no room for doubt on if he had forgotten anything.
Yoshiken started to follow the path where Champ had strolled off on. A strange, unexplainable feeling permeated through his body, causing goosebumps to form on his back and arms. He slowed his pace almost to a complete stop. He knew this feeling from past experiences. It came to him in situations where he was about to enter into a dangerous journey or scenario. He would remain at a near standstill until his new allies were traveling the same direction at his side.
No way was he going to meet Champ again without someone to cover his back.

(I'm so awesome, I can beat mine without fighting. ... sorry for the late response S: )
"Well... glad that's taken care of." He lets out a sigh and shrugs as he kicks at the sand. "Just a little bummed that I couldn't be of any help... oh well. Yeah. I've got my things all ready." He lifts his cape slightly, revealing a small, brown knapsack that is strapped, and hanging, next to his waist. "...at least I think I do." He says as he gives another shrug.
