Finally a decent Yoshi fan forum. ;D I've been following that old YoshiArt.com site since YoshiFerrari (I think thats it...) was running it. I remember when he was thinking about closing the site because he felt he was getting too old to still be a Yoshi fan I think but then it was taken over by YoshiSoul. I used to go to their forum but a whole lot of confusion took place and I decided to stop going there. I didn't post in that forum much anyway. I found this forum a few days ago when I was searching for an English translated version of the German YI and YS comics. I found this thread: timyoshi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=8259The wonders of Google... Enough history! I'm a college student with only a year away from graduating with a Masters degree. I live in California in the US. I like to play video games (don't we all), role play, and aviation (pilot-in-training). I'm no artist but I do enjoy writing stories sometimes. My favorite video game character of all time (oh no...here it comes...) Yoshi! I also like Bowser. Yoshi's Island for the SNES and Super Mario 64 DS are my two favorite games with Yoshi in it. I was a bit disappointed that Yoshi wasn't playable in Super Mario Galaxy but I'm looking forward to Super Mario Galaxy 2. I was also disappointed that Yoshi didn't appear as much as expected in New Super Mario Bros. Wii I would explore every aspect of the level until the timer started running out if Yoshi appears, didn't want to say bye lol. Sorry about the long intro. I'll be swinging by this forum sometimes, looking forward to making new friends. (Teh Yoshi might remember me bugging him about his drawing skills on "DecentArt" a couple years back.)

Hoy hoy, welcome to the boards! Hope you have fun here!
What degree are you working on? Heh, keep it up if you're only a year away!
Yeah, I'm looking forward to SMG2, too. Hopefully it won't be as if Yoshi only appears like 5 times in the game, despite his image being plastered all over the cover like in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Oh, and for the record, Yoshi Ferrari and Yoshi Soul are the same person, haha.

Thanks Alright I didn't know they are the same person. I'm working on a Technical Management degree similar to Business Administration but with emphasis on software and computers. About Yoshi in NSMB Wii I was mad that Nintendo did that. Totally lured us Yoshi fans in by doing that.

Hey, welcome to Yoshi's Corner! I hope you enjoy your stay here ^^ Good luck with your last year 'til your degree! I start college next year... so I've still got forever to go. Anyways, I think most everyone here is looking forward to Super Mario Galaxy 2, haha. Hopefully Yoshi appears often in that game.

I thought they were one and the same. Anyway, welcome to decent Yoshi's Corner! ;D Feel free to drop us (the staff) a PM if you're confused about anything! (And take a gander at the rules, too!)Yoshiart.com's where I started out, too, back in the day when Yoshiart and Yoshi's Corner were one and the same (but that's another story for another time). Yup, Google's pretty useful, when it wants to be! I agree, New Super Mario Bros. Wii let me down by placing Yoshi only in a level per World (if even that much). I don't know if Yoshi will be playable on every level in Super Mario Galaxy 2, but, the worlds seem big enough (I'm thinking it's going to be like Super Mario 64, where you can run around and get whatever star you want--nonlinear, you know?), so maybe that might make up for that. We'll just have to hope and see! Meanwhile, if you're as fanatical as some of us are about that game, there's a topic here that highlights news about the game as it breaks. Do you write just as a hobby, or to you think yourself something of a storyteller? In either case, I live for creative writing, so if you want any tips or a critique on the stories you might share here, just say the word! There's never shame in long introductions!

I'd say I'm a storyteller. I don't write fan fics or poems though I write a story I've been making for several years now. However recently I lost the story (it was like 50 something pages!) so now I have to start all over again. I haven't had much motivation since.
It's a fantasy novel about a young woman trying to run away from her old royal life in exchange for an adventurous one. She happens to come across a dragon and befriends it. Her father the King is trying to find her as she runs away from him and his soldiers. The dragon is being hunted by a powerful dragon hunter especially because he believe that dragon is the one who torched his home town. There is also a 3rd force watching everything in the background waiting for a chance to strike the kingdom that the girl ran away from. I don't intend to show exactly what I have just yet.
I hope Nintendo makes up for NSMB wii by including Yoshi more in SMG2.

Where in California do you live? I am from the outskirts of Los Angeles, in a city called Diamond Bar. That is awesome though that you are so close to getting your masters! I am a bit envious, because I still have such a long time until I even get my bachelors. I go to ASU by the way, and I am majoring into Astronautical Engineering.
That is awesome that you are a pilot in training! What kind of pilot though? Private? Commercial? I am going to start Air Force Pilot training in a few months, so I am curious.
Glad to see you here! Please enjoy the Forums!

Wow a much bigger welcome on a forum from more people than I'm used to! lol is it because there's a lot of friendly people here or this board is bored. (jk guys please don't kill me) Yoshiken I live in the San Diego area. I'm training to be a civilian private pilot and I will continue to get my instrument and multi-engine ratings and possibly commercial. I wasn't interested in becoming an Air Force Pilot because I wasn't too fond of the 12 year commitment plus I don't think I can handle the pressure of being a fighter pilot. By the way correct me if I'm wrong but don't you need to have your bachelors degree first to become an officer in the air force to become an air force pilot? Zyph I go to DeVry University which is a technical college. It's a small campus in San Diego with only about 10 small classrooms.

Yes, you are correct, you need a bachelors to be an officer in the Air Force. However, you can start training, (and should start training) before you get your bachelors. I have it set up so that I will be finished with training right when I do get my bachelors, and so everything will be fine.

Sounds like a good plan. The reason why I'm getting my masters degree so fast is I'm going to a fast track/crash course college. 4-5 courses per semester, each semester is 16 weeks, course material is just crammed into that short time frame. I only get two breaks that are two weeks each, one in the summer and one in the winter. I don't get a spring break or anything else. It's a bit rough but once you get used to it then it's livable.
