We were all introduced into the world of video gaming one way or another. What was your first game system that you owned? Be it a home console or a handheld. If playing at an arcade is what first got you into gaming then you can say so. Also how old were you?
I had an Atari (don't remember which one) first but I feel like the NES was my first console because I played that one a lot more. Kid Icarus, Bomberman, and Super Mario Bros. (of course!) ftw. I was like 3 or 4 I think.

My first game system was an SNES. I remember playing Mario Paint on it when I was pretty little. I don't remember how young I was, but I was definitely under 5. I also played the Donkey Kong Country games, Zelda, and other Mario games. Such good times. ^^

First ever system I ever owned was a ZX Spectrum +2A. The thing ran games from tapes sounded like somebody strangling a modem when it was loading. Something beyond my limited technical expertise happened to it that I can't remember, and had to take it back. Not long after that I ended up getting an Amiga 600. That thing was a great machine that is still pretty underrated, I think. At the time Amigas were one of the most sophisticated computers you could get, which showed with the quality of sound and graphics it churned out. Unfortunately after years of service, the keyboard died on me - which was essentially the entire unit - and I had to retire it. I can emulate an A600 pretty much perfectly these days but it just doesn't hold a candle to the original thing.

The SNES was the first gaming system I played, but the NES was still in style and when I was at friends' houses we'd play Duck Hunt. My dad had the N64 and we'd play Mario Kart on that. The SNES was there mostly for me to watch my dad and grandpa play, not to touch. Until I learned how to play myself, haha.

Atari 2600, complete with Pitfall and ET. I'm not kidding.
