We've all attempted to quietly ignore the patently obvious white elephant sitting in the corner watching TV and drinking tea but we're now two days away from our host ProBoards enforcing section 9, clause (d) of their Terms of Service which also affects absolutely every member of our community. That clause is as follows:

Controvertial eh? So what happens if you don't allow online advertising? Sorry to say you'll get a message from ProBoards requesting you allow advertising. If you don't comply, they will effectively terminate your membership on Yoshi's Corner.
The reason that ProBoards is doing this is due to the fact they aren't pulling enough revenues in from advertising because of people blocking them. I've pleaded with the administrators to reverse this utterly irresponsible and barbaric rule, but it seems they have little control over it. Which means they have what are known as "Managers". The managers make the rules, and the administrators have to enforce them. Unfortunately, like in a huge proportion of businesses, managers know very little and we enter a realm called "One rule for them and tons more for us". This is what it all boils down to:
Online advertising is a known delivery method of malware, and as such, is automatically blocked by some modern anti-virus software vendors, like mine, so you're not alone here!
Yes indeed, ProBoards are requiring you disable a part of your system security just to display some hideous non-relevent advertising.
Just to make sure you're aware, we (Yoshi's Corner staff) do not support, endorse and enforce this clause. ProBoards themselves do this, and we have no control over it.
If you suspect you have gained malware through an ad, be sure to let us know and I will personally roast ProBoards for their failings.
If you get banned, please send an email with the subject "Yoshi's Corner - Banned" to " (at)pinkfloydyoshi.com" (replace Yoshi with the name). This will come directly to me. The reason for this is because we won't know if you've been banned or not, we're not told. This will enable me to consider the feasibility of paying to have the advertising removed and therefore ending the massacre of members trying to protect their computers.
So, what are your options?
As utterly frustrating as it is to say this, if you don't allow advertising, it's a pretty safe bet you'll be banned by our host. If you don't want to get on their bad side, allow advertising but if you want to be a rebel, then please don't blame us for you getting banned because we have no power over what ProBoards do unless conplaints are dished out to them in great numbers and boards begin migrating away from ProBoards and refusing them their revenues that way in protest.
They begin enforcing the new Terms of Service in 2 days. I sincerely hope this is reversed, but due to the sheer ineptitude and incapability to listen to their customers, managers will press on as normal unless communities start fleeing the service in droves or they are battered by lawsuits from people hit by malware delivered by advertising.
Feel free to comment and I'll respond appropiately.
