Ignuss stumbled slowly to the helicopter "Ugh I-It's Over?" Ignuss made it across the canal and to the ruins of the last building when he collapsed not unconscious though.

"Hup! Hup!" Maya ran over to Ignuss and picked his body up and put his arm around her shoulder. "OK now. Its time for you to go over to the helicopter and get in." Maya said, moving him to the helicopter.

"Trust me, I think the world is still here." Maya said as she helped him stand up.

Erlosung just stood up, dusting off his clothes and equipments from the blast. Then he heard Miles asking about some rumor about there being an antidote for the petrification virus.
"Rumor of an antidote for the petrification virus? ...eh heh... hmm... Really, it actually might be one of my colleagues that spread such a rumor. I remember one touting out they they're is gonna be a cure for the virus very soon, and from there the rumor may have derived from there. I may be wrong, but that might be a possible source of such a rumor.
But well, rumor or not... I just know a good amount of proposed cures for the virus. But well, just so we are clear here, an antidote for the virus is a lot different than a vaccine for the virus. Antidotes alleviate the symptoms of the virus, in this case the petrification status I would assume. A vaccine is more of a permanent fix.
But well... an antidote... there is one particular recipe I really want to try out... but this ingredient for it is apparently rare. I couldn't really try it out only merely because I don't have that ingredient. Aside from that, I guess I can try one of my prepared proposed solutions, but I can't guarantee it would work at all... Maybe I can see the chemicals you have supplied for us before to see if the ingredient I am looking for is there... otherwise if not in there, we can try a proposed one."
He then saw Ignuss and Maya. Unfortunately, due to his face all covered up with equipment, his reaction and emotion to such a sight of Maya helping Ignuss cannot be seen.
"...Yeah... world's still here..."
He then decided to go to the helicopter, remembering that is where the provided chemicals were. He checked it, restocked some chemicals from it, and tried searching for what he needs, but couldn't
"Nope, it's not here... lets try the proposed one I guess..."
He hops out of the helicopter and goes to a fully petrified victim. He took out a syringe and attempts to administer the proposed cure.

Ignuss tried to stand "G-Good the world's not over." With that Ignuss passed out

When Erlosung's syringe contacted the victim's stone skin the spot turned to flesh. This allows the antidote to be administered. Over a few minutes the toad's upper half of her body turned to flesh. She opened her eyes. "Ugh...why is the sky red...Actually...what happened?....why do I feel so heavy....?" She looked at Erlosung, Miles, and Firago. "You people...is there a cure...for....the virus?"
Firago: "...It looks like it's working." Miles: "Urm....I don't know about that..."
The koopa: "Guys there's supplies in the helicopter. We have energy drinks, medical kits, ethers. What ever you need just take what you can use."

(Sorry for double posting but the story must go on.)
The half-petrified victim struggled as if something was happening. "Ugh! The pain! Can't stand the pain!" Then she quickly became wholly petrified again.
Firago: "It doesn't look like the antidote worked to my expectations...What did you think Mister Wild Incognito?"
Firago, Miles, and the koopa all boarded the helicopter and the koopa got it started. Firago replenished his ammunition and drank an ether. Then he opened an energy drink with a *click.*
Miles: "Some members of my team said that this Carrier situation was another attempt by Ruki's spirit to end the world. I think that's absurd! I just think it was bad luck on our part that the missiles started leaking...but then there's the flawed emergency system...the inconvenient petrification of half of my team...but still! It's all coincidence to me! What do you guys think?"

Erlosung just watched the effects of the proposed cure, only to see it fail at the end.
Erlosung: "Hmm... another failure, again. I'm beginning to not be surprised if these proposed antidotes fail. One of the few that I actually know and have hopes on that may work I can't make without some ingredients... I wonder if there others out there have discovered any yet..."
He then just goes to the helicopter and checks the refreshments they provided. He looked around making sure no one is looking at his covered face, takes some drinks, attempts to sterilized the top with some magnetics and electricity, lifts his visor and move down his mask a bit, and drinks. He drinks rather quickly and once done, quickly puts his mask and attire back and then looks at Miles.
"Coincidence of all this happening... I'll have no comment on that for now."
He then just looks at Ignuss, who just passed out. Erlosung simply gave a sigh.

Because of his height, Hansen once again struggled to get on the helicopter. The only refreshment he grabbed was a bottle of water. He twisted the cap open, and took about 3 large gulps before putting it back on. "You want to know what I think? I think that this sure aint a coincidence. I am a bit of a skeptic, and I find it difficult to believe that a dead man can cause so much to happen to the living. However, as a detective, it is my obligation to be open to any possibility. I don't know what happened here, but as I said, this isn't a simple accident. Somebody wanted that carrier to go off in a bang."
He took another drink of the water before continuing. "I just wish I had more...tangible evidence to work with. If only we had some sort of clue that would tell us anything. Miles, you know more about this mission with the carrier more than anyone else here. Is there anything you can tell us about anything suspicious that happened before this event? If not, do you know of anyone we can talk to that might have that kind of information? I have nothing to work with here, and even the smallest lead will help."

Maya jumps onto the helicopter after putting Ignuss into one of the seats and grabbing a bottle to drink. "So know that we have this problem out of the what, what is next?"

Miles heard Maya's statement. "Ah yes where do you want to be dropped off Firago? Sorry for interrupting your mission."
Firago: "I need you to drop us off next to Old Town. We are going to continue our mission of investigating the mine over there." He gulped down half of the energy drink.
Miles: "Well unfortunately I don't have much information about suspicious activity regarding the Carrier mission. The driver didn't report anything before he died. All we know is the missile leak penetrated through all the safety layers of the tank it was held in. I think it had...two layers of lead one inch thick each and a layer of neutralizing material between those layers. Sorry I don't know all the details...we were just called up for the urgent mission to clear a path for the Carrier."
The helicopter was nearing the town that Firago's group was approaching before the interruption.

"If you don't mind me asking, where was the guy that we think caused this executed? I really can't picture any place around here toting a lethal injection machine and gurney." Maya said.

Firago: "It wasn't a lethal injection. I was there to see his execution by mass shooting. It took place in the city of Rubus which is quite far from here. A large earthquake hit just after his execution. I'm one of the few to survive. Sadly though...Everyone who witnessed his execution and survived seems to have bad luck now.
Ruki was a yoshi who had powers similar to demonology. He could call forth minions from darkness. His powers allowed him to curse entire villages. Destruction is caused from simply his thoughts. He often kidnapped people and warped their appearance beyond recognition and/or changes their personality to where they can do nothing but evil. Imagine your child being kidnapped. He or she is rescued and appear unharmed...but suddenly the child performs uncharacteristic acts such as killing their pet, purposely burning the house down, and attempts to kill everyone in the household without a trace of remorse.
I didn't think he was powerful enough to influence the world's destruction past his death. It is unknown if he had any followers or not but the point of our mission is to discover this group's hideout and figure out their motives."
The helicopter has reached the landing spot and carefully rested on the ground, Firago jumps off.
Firago: "Much appreciated Miles. Good luck on the rest of your mission."
Miles: "Likewise and don't be getting yourself petrified. You and I don't know who you are up against."

"Mass shooting. Not something that I would go for. I would rather go and see a lethal injection. A lot less messier that way. But either way, the bastard is burning in a pool of lava and fire down in hell. Whatever we have to do next, we have move fast." Maya said.

Ignuss slowly came to muttering a few names before he came to fully, "Urgh, uh, What'd I miss How long was I out? Where are we going?" When he spotted an ether and downed it quickly

Firago: "Heh if you haven't noticed I like firearms and explosives. At least he wasn't executed by explosion."
Firago heads down the path into the town. It has become a ghost town in eerie silence. It looked very close to an old American western town with a saloon, bank, sheriff's building, and a few stores like a town that time had forgotten. Doors were busted open, wooden buildings have begun to rot, there were many statues in a position that appears petrification happened instantly stopping them in their tracks. Goombas, koopas, toads, humans, shy guys, all alike were undiscriminated by the affects of the virus. If someone bothers to pay close attention it appears that the instant petrification caused a panic and an evacuation attempt was made.
Firago looked at his surroundings looking at the various buildings and some were built up against a hillside. Then he saw a mine cart off to the right of the hillside.
Firago: "I think the entrance to the mine is up this hill. Let's check it out."

"This town right here seems to be kind of cowboyish, Think we might see a petrified cowboy around here somewhere?" Maya asked following everybody else.

(Should I switch to posting every other day?)
When the group reached the end of the mine it was apparent that several Old Town citizens were trying to run either toward or away from the mine entrance. All that remains are statues of their former selves. It is unclear what exactly they were doing. No one had torches or pitchforks, no weapons, and no mining gear. Just an expression of despair in each of their faces evidently from getting petrified.
Firago: "Well this looks interesting, unfortunately there's no other way into the mine. We have to use this entrance unless you want to dig through miles of ground which we don't have time to do. As soon as we find evidence of the suspicious work of this group we should use stealth tactics to the best of our abilities."
