Most "I'm leaving for Cinber amount of days" aren't worth their own threads. You can usually PM or IM the ones who will miss you the most.
I'd also like to take this oppertunity to say that most "Hey I'm back my daughters did wha?" Threads aren't called for either. We will know when you begin posting once again.
Don't mean it's right, but it makes you see the light. Clamp it.
