To all staff members, in particular to one:
Please refrain from using advanced forum features like the news fader and similar features that impact the forum's appearance dramatically, when you do not have permission from me. Now that you've done it, instead of saying you're sorry I'd rather hear you say that you're not going to do it again. Let's respect the board and all of the people who visit it, regardless of whether they get involved with the community or not.

Quote: "In particular to one," unquote: that would go under trying to contact a single person in a public post...

I guess that the idea was too important for a mass staff PM, but not important enough to go onto the bulletin board.

Yeah, really, Soul, group PMing is there for a reason... And isn't it quite domineering of you to require permission from YOU, when Timmy is for all intents and purposes the main admin? I don't see you having a root account. So perhaps you could just overlook random acts of kindness, y'know? Especially since it was obviously a special occasion and all, and if you don't want people using the News Fader, why do they have that privilage, hm?

Especially since it was obviously a special occasion and all, and if you don't want people using the News Fader, why do they have that privilage, hm? I thought as much also. Originally, I was just going to say "Crikey, birthday threads might be banned soon at this rate...". I have a couple of things to say now. Where's the staff room? Why wasn't group PM'ing used instead? (As opposed to 'shouting at someone, in the middle of the class round all his/her friends') Why is a message stating the root admin's birthday a bad thing to have on the forum, in the first place? (I would guess that it'd improve forum membership as it showed we're all friendly, and not going to bite their heads off for no reason...) If a person has admin powers, they have the right to use those powers to do good for the board. I don't see how a birthday message is doing any bad for the board, or yoshiart.com. If anything, there's good coming out of it, as mentioned already, shows we're a friendly community, as opposed to a community who smites down new members until they leave again.

See? I'm not alone in how I thought, Soul. All admins can use it, and so they do -- it's not their fault that they didn't know it was your own personal little toy. All he tried to do was give Tim a little cheer on his birthday, and I'll forever think he had all right t odo it, too.

i agree, celebrating the admin's birthday is a perfectly good way to use a news fadar.
However, if someone puts a pointless message up there then THAT would be ok to note

I agree, there's a difference between putting on the fader "Happy birthday Tim!" and "Hi there! What's your number?" On the other hand, that didn't happen yet .

He didn't just say happy birthday, among what he said he wrote "I can't believe you're all 17 now. That's disgusting! Hahaha!", which to me sounded reallllllly immature. But whatever, this is old now, doesn't matter anymore.
And I don't care what you all had to say about it. Haha ;D

Now then, that doesn't show the words of an admin, who wishes to keep his community happy. I belive in one major thing. If you rebel against the community, the community is only going to fight back. If you work with the community to give it, what it wants, they'll stay, and enjoy themselves, giving you the satisfaction that something you have created, is being enjoyed.
Shamefully, due to your recent move, you've lost a lot of friends. I'll still get round to this email I've been badgering on about for god knows how long now, and I won't mention what happened here. You know I will quite openly talk about things that very much bother me though, and I won't be afraid to stick up for the Yoshi's Corner community.
Together, we've all developed a huge trust, and friendship in you. The community has always highly respected you because you spawned the largest Yoshi site online. Today, it's made it abundantly clear that you've never appreciated the community back, for what it has given. Therefore, you've decided to take the step of de-affiliating with Yoshi's Corner, simply because the community disagreed with a move of yours, to dicipline a moderator, in front of all members.
The de-affiliation has caused NOTHING but bring the community closer. This board will not die as I will be quite willing to take my own (fully perpetual licenced - $169) board down to keep this community going. I've met some of the friendliest and just absolutely best people around the community. There's no other community like this. This community is unique, and I do not wan't to see it all collapse.
The only thing left to say now, is, timyoshi, Do you agree to allow your board to serve as the forum to 'YoshiCurio'? You will keep your board name, and all rights to all control. Your moderators, and g-mods will be able to use their powers without restrictions (Unless you specifically outline those restrictions).
The board will be 100% yours. I will only be here to keep all in order, but as always, any changes will always go through you first, as this is your board.
If not, then thats fine by me, and I'll still allow myself to take an active role in making the board a success once more.

To PFY:
Funny to see how quickly a great friend can stab you in the back. And twice too.
Don't ever try to make me feel bad for being the way I am, for getting angry at the things that make me angry, and have always made me angry. If you do then you are not worthy of being my friend.
If something upsets me then let it be, don't go "omg u r not like me therefo I beliv u shuld be x-actly liek me!!1!". Believe it or not that sounds waaaaayyy Chav-ish to me.

Ahh. You've yet to read my post in that topic.
Still, ...
"Hate is baggage. Life is too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it".
I have no real reason to say anything, other than to reinforce what I said in the other topic. Your statement is incorrect, but if I said what I was going to say, I'd be the one flashing out unneccasary comments, and I don't stand for that since as an administrator, I should be setting a good example.
If you further wish to discuss this, I'm free on MSN. It doesn't seem right to have it on the board. My MSN is in my board profile. I'm free for the next 3 hours. If you have suggestions on the way I feel about this, feel free to say, but I'll say this. I do not hold grudges, and if we do get through this without biting at eachother at each opportunity, maybe you'll see why I feel so strongly about protecting whats most important to me.
As an administrator, I can see your MSN. However, I feel it is not right to just add you out the blue, so I will await your response.
