Yes, A request... that in the forum threads, people stay on topic.
In most threads here, it doesn't take long for it to go off topic... which is kind of annoying. You click the title of the thread to read it and it ends up being something else entirely...
In most other forums I've been on, topics get locked if they stray off topic too long... but some of the ones here just seem to ramble on, about random things ignoring the topic completely.
Its all I ask... keep the ramblings to a miminum, or make another toopic about whatever you want to talk about in another seoarate thread.
(In case anyone gets the wrong idea: Its not that I don't like this place. Its the off-topicness I don't like.)

It does get quite confusing at times. All it takes is a shout of, :Get back on topic!" to keep the members on topic once more. Thats all there is to it. You don't have to make a thread about it.

i'd must admit, your right, it's sorta anoying, but every board i've seen theres off topic posts everywhere! it's almost like it can't be prevented.

That's also true. A topic can end up with endless combinations of opinions that break upon into different topics. They are like topic that in a way sorround the current topic, or sometimes is dramatically changed through expressions. Its impossible to have a board where there is not one thread that is off-topic.

I actually kinda like the randomness. It gives this board something unique. The only thing I don't like is its always so hard to find which post you were talking about something in because the titles never match the conversations!  |

I was thinking the same thing. I remember when we were talking about candy, we couldn't find it because we forgot in what thread it was in. We later found it in the "Do you wanna be a Yoshi?" thread.

I believe letting threads go off-topic is a LOT more fun. This way there are a lot more things to talk about. I hate boards that don't allow users to go off-topic. Prohibiting users to go off-topic only reduces the number of opportunities to talk. If you look carefully, you'll notice that most of this board's threads aren't off topic in the 1st page. If you don't like 'off-topicness', you can just stop reading it when it gets off-topic. I appreciate that you took the time to place a suggestion to improve the board. Thank you  |

I never said off-topicing (..yes, it IS a word. ) wasn't fun, its just an annoyance to me that you expect to see one topic, for example Smash Bros, and then find that the topic your actually reading has drifted over to something about cheese, or whatever. (hypothetical example ) It's not like I'm going to leave or anything because of it, I'll just be silently irritated  |
