CHAPTER 8>>This is Halloween!
At
Spooky Globe, in came 3 odd figures--a tall thin skeleton in
black overalls and a
purple hat and shirt, a cloud boy in
clown makeup and
hat, and
the prince of Beanbean with fangs and
one bat wing.
Mallow: Wow, this place is scary! I bet the people here are scary too.
Waluigi: We look scary, too, y'know. They scare us, we scare 'em right back!
So the three proceed on to the square. A big puff of black smoke rose from the lab, and a bunch of ghost Heartless appeared. However, they didn't attack.
A gold-colored Dry Bones with a mayor badge came in with a megaphone.
Mayor Humerus: And now, allow me to introduce to master of terror, the king of nightmares...
Skele-Kalek!!
The Heartless brought their hands up in a wave as out of the blue-watered fountain arose Skele-Kalek(found him on Magikoopa sprite sheet by noBody at
mfgg.net), who then did a stylish pose.
Mayor Humerus: Bravo, Kalek, Bravo! Those ghosts will be a big hit at this year's Halloween!
Skele-Kalek: Thank you, thank you. But their movement wasn't scary enough...I wanna strike BONE-CHILLING TERROR. I'm gonna consult the professor. *goes to lab*
Mayor Humerus: Then I'll go attend to the decorations!
The three go to the lab as well. Inside, Skele-Kalek and Prof. E. Gadd are studying a book. There's a Heartless on the examination table.
Skele-Kalek: I don't get it. The guidance system must've been damaged in the explosion.
Prof. Gadd: I've been wondering that myself, Kalek boy. Maybe further reading...
Skele-Kalek: Hey! Look here! Why, of course--the Heartless need a
heart! You think you can add an artificial heart to the guidance system?
Prof. Gadd: Why, of course! A heart's pretty complex, though. OK, first we need the right container. Unfortunately, it's locked. If only I brought my Keyblade from home...
Waluigi: You really gonna unlock it for them?
Peasley: Why not? If it works, we won't have to deal with the Heartless. 'Sides, I wanna see the Heartless dance. Don't you?
Waluigi: ...Not really.
Mallow: I'd like to!
So Peasley takes out his Vine Lash Keyblade and unlocks the container.
Skele-Kalek: Wow, thanks...uhhh...
Peasley: Prince Peasley.
Skele-Kalek: Thanks, Peasley! Wanna be a part of this year's Halloween festival?
Mallow: Oh! Speaking of which, what are the Heartless doing here?
Skele-Kalek: See, the Heartless recently came to town, but what's frustrating is I can't get them to dance with me. So Prof. Gadd is helping me improve the guidance system. He's quite a genius!
Prof. Gadd: Alrighty, back to the experiment. First, we need "pulse"...*adds a fresh spring*
Skele-Kalek: "Emotion"...*adds a new chocolate bar*
Prof. Gadd: "Fear"...*uses a pen to scratch a glass pane and adds it*
Skele-Kalek: "Hope"...*adds a White Mystery Air Head*
Prof. Gadd: ...and "despair". *adds a Boo's Sheet*
Skele-Kalek: Put 'em all together, and we have...a heart!
They plug the heart onto the guidance system and activate it. It starts sparking and the Heartless slowly rises from the table, but then falls back down.
Prof. Gadd: It failed!!
Seems we're missing some stuff. Probably this scratched-out stuff. Let's try adding "memory".
Lady Bow?...Lady Boooow?... ...Good-for-nothing girl! I dunno why I bothered hiring her! Anyways, Bow has the "memory" item we need. Go see if you can find her.
Skele-Kalek: OK! Guys, you wanna help?
Waluigi: Of course! The curse got lifted a bit so that we can have a party of five!
As they exit...
Mayor Humerus: KALEK!! We have a major crisis!!! The Heartless are out of control! We can't stop 'em!!!
Skele-Kalek:
Maybe the experiment triggered something...Don't worry, Mayor. Everything'll be alright. BTW, you know where we can find "surprise"? Gadd needs that too.
Mayor Humerus: "Surprise"? Here, try this Jack-In-The-Box.
And so, they reach the graveyard, and some Heartless come out.
Skele-Kalek's ATB gauge filled first, so he cast
Holy on the Gargoyle. It disappeared right away, so now just 2 more to deal with. Search Ghost then cast
Drain to take some of Mallow's Heart Points. Then Waluigi performed a Triple Foul attack with his Hammer, poisoning Search Ghost. Then, Wight Knight quickly attacked Peasley. Mallow stepped up and cast
Thundaga on Wight Knight, eliminating it. The next move Search Ghost made, it vanished due to poison.
Lady Bow came out from behind a tall grave. (NOTE: Skele-Kalek is considered 14)
Bow: Is something wrong, Kalek?
Skele-Kalek: Oh, no, everything's alright! We're gonna have the best Halloween ever--now all we need is your "memory" item.
Bow: "Memory"? You mean this?
She hands the team a Forget-Me-Not flower.
Bow: I have a bad feeling, Kalek. Why don't you think of something else? There's still time.
Skele-Kalek: Nothing can beat what I got planned. Once we give the Heartless a heart, they'll dance just as I envisioned it. *Bow looks down* Trust me, you're gonna love it!
So, anyway, everyone leaves, and three sinister giggles arise from a coffin portal. Out jump 3 little hooligans known as...
Blue Boo:
Blue Boo!
Greaper:
Greaper!
Dull Bones:
Dull Bones! *topples into a pile of bones*
THE 3 MUSTY FEARS!!!
Dull Bones: *puts himself together* Did you hear THAT?
Blue Boo: I sure did! A heart! So what now?
Greaper: Man, you really ARE stupid! What ELSE do we do?
Dull Bones: Tell King Boo! *the 3 giggle sinisterly*
Meanwhile, back at King Boo's place...
King Boo: Hoohahahah!! A heart?! That bonehead Kalek is REALLY makin' a heart? Well, I'll be shivered! That works for me! Ooh, when I get my hands on--well, I don't really have hands...but I'm still gonna nab that and finally control the Heartless like Ansem told me to! *laughs sinisterly*
Back at the lab...
Prof. Gadd: There we go. This time it's SURE to work!
He goes over to put it onto the guidance system, but then a bony Koopa shell comes out from the table and trips him, making the heart fly into the air and land into Blue Boo's dinky little arms. The Musty Fears run off.
Prof. Gadd: How dare they swipe my work! I MUST go after them!!
Prof. Gadd joins the party! They follow the hooligans carefully until they reach King Boo's Mansion.
Skele-Kalek: I would've thought King Boo was behind all this!
They go up to the highest room, and in there, the 3 Musty Fears toss the heart down a chute, and turn around in surprise to see the good guys.
MINI-BOSS BATTLE
The 3 Musty Fears perform a Delta Atack to KO Waluigi. Kalek performs Demi on 'em, reducing them to 3/4 of their HP. Peasley performed Holy on Blue Boo, KO'ing him. Prof. Gadd then used Aqua Breath with his FLUDD on the last two. Mallow finished 'em off with his Overdrive Blizzaga Fury.
Blue Boo: Look, King Boo told us to nab that heart.
Greaper: It's all Dull Bones's fault! He suggested we tell him.
Blue Boo: That's right!
Dull Bones: But you guys said--
Greaper: You should be ashamed!
Good Guys: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
So they went to King Boo's torture chamber, and there's King Boo!
Prof. Gadd: King Boo, give back that heart!
King Boo: You want it? Well then come on over and get it! *merges heart into himself* HEEHAHAHAH! Now lessee if I can get their attention. Oh, HEARTLESS!!!... ... ... ...*two Gargoyles fly in*... ... ...This is it?... ... ... ... ...Anyways, nobody disrespects me! NOBODY!!!
BOSS BATTLE!!
Skele-Kalek casts Ultima to take out King Boo's dinky Heartless army. Then, King Boo uses a move that brings down a big knife to crush the whole party. No, it's not a Zantetzuken.
Anyways, Peasley got MAD and performed an Omnislash, the last slash accidentally being a Zantetzuken, slicing King Boo's skin open.
His skin slowly faded away until it was fully gone and the fog vanished. The team collected the heart.
Prof. Gadd: Would've guessed this heart was incomplete. Anyways, we better find that Keyhole.
They leave the mansion, but then a dark fog surrounds it and it becomes all
black and purple, has 2 ghostly hands--one with a lantern--and it has King Boo's face on it!
Mallow:
He merged with the mansion!!!
Waluigi: Hey look! He's drawing the power of darkness through those dark-looking spheres!
Prof. Gadd: So we just need to destroy those orbs, right?
Skele-Kalek: Well, let's do it!
There were 5 orbs in all. It was simple. They hit the door until King Boo Mansion was dizzy, then they went for each orb individually until they beat it. Then, King Boo's spirit faded away and the mansion scooted back to reveal the Keyhole. Mallow used the Fluffy Storm Keyblade for this. Back in town...
Skele-Kalek: Why didn't I listen to you, Bow?
Bow: Don't feel bad, Kalek. We'll come up with another plan for Halloween. Next time, we'll do it together.
