i dun think souls knows hes an admin. see, i think he game his administration powers to yoshiken, then tim or yoshiken changed him back into an admin. im not clear on that story. i think i was the first one who made yoshiken aware he was an admin. well in my opinion we dont need mods at this moment in time, however, you never know what the future holds so dont lose any hope  EEK! YOSHIKEN! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING!? look at the yoshi cafe, theres like altleast tripples of every topic ever made. no one ever moves or deletes topics in wrong areas and such. stop thinking about anjil, and open your eyes!   lol |

The only reason I'm an admin is because I need to have the power to edit the board in an emergency (i.e. if a crazy spammer comes here to post inappropriate stuff). I don't like to mess with the board much because since I don't use it that much, I may end up making changes that people don't like, i.e. if I unsticky a topic that I thought was already dead while it really wasn't (has happened once before). I need to have admin power because the vast majority of the traffic that comes to this board comes from my site, therefore this board must remain clean at all times to ensure its continued linking from my site. If I didn't have the power to edit the board in an emergency, and suddenly there's a real emergency, I would have to unlink the board immediately. This means that if I'm not granted admin rights, then the link from my site's menu has to go. It's a deal between me and Tim (which Tim has violated a couple of times actually...) which has been in place ever since Yoshi's Corner was created. Let's just say that it's as if I am the chairman of Yoshi's Corner and Tim is the CEO.
However, I still help Tim a little with the board. For example I delete all gigantic signatures that I come across.

I can insist of your help, since I'm like the person signing up and observing the forum everyday (since sunday i became new here), and also , i have my own forum and I have taken care of the situation there, spammers, as I block usernames, IP was consistent of a help of my friend. Even I block the email address. I was the admin of the forum. I can become a Mod, but it's your decision, because I do take care of things been going on. I have a site up (only it is about Unreal Tournament) and things been looking fine (ignore stuff you don't want to see, i'll get to the bottom of this). Let me know, I'm feeling free of replies, just for your help.

Hmm...i got someone you could consider staffing...how about PinkFloydYoshi? He visits on a regular basis, he's had LOTS of experience (how many sites are you an admin/mod PFY?) and he's creating his own site too.
Just a thought really...i think he is responsible enough to become a site mod!

wait a secound, i would like to have pfy moderate the boards as much as you do, but he just said in another thread that he has been busy, very busy. anyway, i think you should atleast ask him before making him a mod. (this is if you make him a mod)

Well in all honesty Red, he did say in a conversation i had with him "I may apply, i wonder if i can offer my services..." so he is willing to take the job. I know he's been busy, dont you think i know that? He's been telling me that he has been, but he is still willing to make himself even more useful! I mentioned PFY because he's trustworthy, reliable and has a heck of a lot of experience as a mod/admin and he contributes a lot of his time for the Yoshi Fan Community! If you can find someone that is as good as PFY...i'll eat my own hat! I aint saying this because he's a good friend to chat with, but he knows his job and does it well!
Anyway, i for one would LOVE to be a mod, but i always keep saying to myself "I dont think i can handle it..." because basically i cant, i'd like to give ideas and help out, but to run the site is way out of my league...

Wow. It's nice to see all this support for me, although, I've not been 'on the ball' so to speak. I thank you greatfully. I did mention to Toshi that I'd like the position a while ago. I take time to visit all the forums I goto anyway, so adding moderation abilities wouldn't take any time out of my schedule really.
I'm game if you are Tim, Soul...
edit: Hmm, thats strange. I can only see half the board...

this is probably because an inexperinced board admin or moderator has made your tite be a "staff member." when you create a new tite, you also have to set the titles limitations.

Heh. Funny how a staff member see's less than a normal member.
You have to be a little experienced with these boards though. I find Proboards admin controls quite scary. While they're meant to be easy, to me, I find them ok to use, but I wonder wether I've done something right. After being on so many InvisionBoards, the huge and 'confusing to many' interface has grown on me and I know what does what. I've had Proboards experience, so it'll be a doddle.

Whoops, sorry! I tried to make you a moderator last night, but there was no "moderator" in the drop-down list and so I assumed "staff member" was the same thing... I also tried to make you a global moderator but it didn't work. So I just left you as staff member. I checked and you're a normal user again? Can you see the whole board now? I am sorry, I was just trying to make you a moderator as you were hoping for. Tim must have done some changes to the board's permissions. In this case only Tim can make you a moderator.

Actually Soul, I've had some experience in the proboards admin system, and you have to type in PFY's username into the Moderator list for whatever board you want to make PFY a Mod for.
