The best part of the story, the finale of an arc. It's always a milestone, a little part where we can always say "whew, that was a close one!"

We'll miss Ambi, especially Leoshi... I hope Jay's guilt and all won't get back at him, he was feeling responsible earlier. I wonder why demon regretted it though... OH NO, SUSPENSE!!

Just wanted to say something about my character. Yoshark has no weapons but is a expert in hand to hand combat. He also a has a large snow wolf companion called Threafore. You don't have to add Threafore if you don't want too though. For any other info just PM me or something on YC or deviantART

Alright, part one of what I hope should promise to be a very exiting arc:

“Oh, shut up!” a loud voice shouted.

Everyone else in the meeting room all silenced. They had all gathered at the long table in the main office of the building.

“What is the matter with you all! The situation isn’t that precarious!” the same person shouted.

“But Mr. Proctor, we can’t just sit here and take no actions!” a nearby Koopa shouted, slamming his fist on a table. “We all know that something is dreadfully amiss!”

“Be quiet, this isn’t your place!” the proctor shouted. The proctor was a Toad, with a black tuxedo and black spots. “And we all know that we can’t just shut down the business now! Not after all that’s been prepared for! Need I remind you that the annual races have been scheduled for tomorrow!?”

“No sir, we are well aware.” A female toad said. She brushed her yellow hair aside, and adjusted her glasses.

“We haven’t called in competitors from the entire world, brought Jolene all the way from our affiliation Glitzville, and spend millions of coins just to cancel it now! The show must go on!” another of them shouted, banging his fist on the table.

“I said, shut up! We all heard about the threats that are against Prospesky City! Just think of what may happen if we let the races go on! Think of how many lives we will be putting in danger!” the proctor shouted.

“If I may bring up a point, Mr. Proctor.” Jolene said, slowly getting up. “Think about all the risks of canceling the race as well. We’ll surely get riots and bad publicity. Not to mention all of the costs and funds we have spent to make this event possible. Getting all the way here from Glitzville wasn’t cheap, you know.”

“I don’t care if was your life savings!” the proctor shouted angrily, getting up and nearly knocking the chair down from behind him. “Think of the worse publicity for Prospesky if we le it go on and we get charged for some sort of attack! We can’t take that risk!”

“Mr. Proctor, there is no need to get violent!” Jolene shouted. “Please sir, calm down. Let’s discuss this rationally.”

The proctor sighed and slowly sat back down.

“Listen, I care about the other racers just as much as you. But you have to understand, this is Prospesky’s main attraction and it only occurs once a year. This event is big, so big that it’s known the world over. If we cancel it, we’ll upset everyone! Please, Mr. Proctor, I ask of you to just proceed with the races as scheduled. If anything bad happens, we’ll cancel the races as soon as we can. But if we just forfeit and cancel the races, they we are just giving into the people who are trying to sabotage Prospesky.”

The proctor sighed. “But Jolene-“

“How about this, Mr. Proctor.” Jolene said. “I have had a huge business deal with Prospesky’s races. If you cancel the race, then I will have no choice but to end all affiliation and business deals between Prosky and Glitzville.”

The proctor sighed and folded his hands together. “Fine, Jolene, the races are on.”

“So, um…”Yoshee sighed as she sat down at the dinner table inside of the Majestuosa with most of the others. “

“As of now, our plans are simply to scan the skies.” Yoshiko said.

“That’s all we have planned”?” Moshi asked, rasing an eyebrow.

“That’s it, unfortunately.” Yoshiken said. “Think about it: that ghost lady we met before at the temple, Virtuous I think, she said that we need to look in the skies for a sort of entrance to another Realm.”

“An entrance. Like what, a portal or something?” LD asked.

“She didn’t say for sure, really.” Yapi said. “…I wish people didn’t have to be so vague all the time, then we’d be able to finish this faster.”

“Hey!” Spider shouted, suddenly rushing into the ship’s dinning room. “I see something up ahead!”

Everyone got up from the table and ran outside. There was a rush of air as they walked out f the room. They were high in the air, soaring over and through some clouds as they flew. Up in the distance, there was something big floating directly ahead of them.

“…whoa, what is that?” John asked.

Leoshi, who had been sitting at the bow of the ship near the Yoshi head ornament, looked up and spotted the floating massive thing ahead.

“…It looks like some sort of craft.” Yoshiken said.

“Do you think that’s where we need to go?” Treyba asked.

“I’d say it may be an important clue to finding this portal.” Lava said.

“Wait, what if it’s not safe? It could be an enemy craft for all we know.” Leoshi said.

“We’ll just have to chance it.” Yoshiken said. The red-winged dragon yoshi walked to the ship’s wheel and began to tug at it. “Let’s do it.”

What they arrived at was amazing. It was indeed a very strange form of craft. It looked like a huge flying city, standing on the top of a flying saucer of sorts. Huge skyscrapers could be seen peaking in the background of the city, while other, smaller and more financial buildings appeared in the foreground. Billboards lit up for advertisements, as the streets were all filled with modern day cars and other vehicles. There was a huge train rail that led from the front of the city to all sorts of areas in the city. A single sign in the front of the tracks read “Monorail Express.” Lights of all varieties lit up the city from all sorts of areas and sections.

“Whoa, we’re at a huge city!!” Yin shouted.

“Pretty nice place.” Leoshi said, looking around the area.

“Let’s dock here.” Yoshiken said.

In the very front of the town was a huge section that looked like a typical wooden dock. All sorts of amazing looking airships and flying vehicles were stationed all over the dock, including some private planes, tour ships, a few strange crafts that looked like cars with jets instead of wheels, and a series of strange looking vehicles. A huge neon sigh above the docking bay read in shining colors “Welcome to Prospesky.”

“What kind of place is this?” Yin asked.

“I guess we’ll find out when we land.” Yoshiken said. He slowly drove the Majestuosa to the dockside, making sure that it was flying right alongside the side of the rock. He rose the sails and pulled the wings back into the ship’s hull. However, the ship’s newfound ability to fly left it hovering right alongside the flying city, as it bobbed up and down as if it were still in open water.

Yoshiko walked to the side of the Majestuosa first. He took arope ladder and flew off the side. He let his wings carry him until he landed on the wooden dock. He secure to the rope ladder to a metal pole.

Soon enough, everyone had crawled off the ship and was on the dock. LD looked back to Merier, who was left on the ship’s decks.

“Hey, look after the ship while we explore, ok?” LD shouted.

“Sure thing!” Merier shouted.

The group then began to walk away from the ship and back into the city.

Unlike most communities, all sorts of creatures were walking the streets of the city. A few koopa children, a couple of Yoshis walking to and fro, some toads here and there, Bomb-omb families eating at outside restaurants. Leoshi looked up and saw a speeding monorail rush past on an overhead monorail, filled with passengers of all sorts.

“This is a pretty cool city.” Yoshifrog commented.

They hadn’t walked that far in when they spotted a brochure stand. Teo reached into the stand and picked up the a small one. Everyone crowed around him as he opened it up.

“What’s it say?” Yapi asked enthusiastically.

“It says that there’s some sort of race going on here tomorrow.” Teo said. “All racers are welcome o enter the competition. The race will start here, then go to all sorts of interesting places. The prize of the race is…”

Teo stopped for a second. “…oh, wow.”

“What, what is it?” Lava asked.

“A trip via portal to wherever you want to go.” Teo said.

“No way!” Yoshiko shouted. “Seriously?”

“This has to be what we have been looking for.” Yoshiken said. “The entrance to another realm where the key to protecting the world is. The entrance is being offered as a prize to the winner of a race.”

“Ok, we got to enter it!” Yoshee shouted. Her two chao nodded silently.

“…I wonder, who do we go to about seeing all of this?” Yoshiken asked.

“Oh, anyone can sign up.” A person said suddenly. They all turned and spotted a koopa standing at the stand. “I can sign you all up with a computer.”

“Oh, could you?” Teo asked. “That would really help us out.”

‘So then.” The Koopa asked. “Which 5 of you are going to enter?”

“Wait a sec…” Jay asked. “…um… which 5?”

“You can only enter 5 competitors per team.” The koopa said.

“We all need to enter this race.” Spider said, with the others all nodding in agreement.

“They you’re all going to be divided into 4 different teams.” The koopa said. “And don’t bother picking them, the computer chooses the teams at random.”

“Oh… wow.” Yoshee said. “…ok.”

“Well it’s very risky. Everyone about this race is risky.” The koopa said.

“We’ll take that risk.” Yoshiken said. “Sign us up.”

After a few minutes of filling out some virtual forms, they had all signed up for the race.

“Good good, everything is in order.” The koopa said. “Now then, I suggest you travel over to the central plaza. Everyone who’s signed up is headed there. You know, you’ll be able to examine your rivals for the race.”

“Thanks for all the help.” Yapi said. “…how do we know what teams we are on?”

“They will announce that at the banquet tonight.” The koopa said.

“Ok, see you later!” Yoshee said.

The 20 of them all walked away and proceeded down toward the main city.

“So…” Eloeem said. “…what do you think he meant by “risky”?”

“Good question.” Yoshiken said.

As they walked away, they had failed to notice the mysterious dark Yoshi that was watching them from atop a rooftop.

“Well…” She said. “This will be interesting.”

That sums it up for this chapter. If you want me to put any more villains up, I’d prefer you do it as soon as possible, because there’s going to be a ton of introductions in the next chapter. More on the way.

RACES?? This sounds really exciting! Races... who would have thought? My adrenaline is rushing... but the next chapter won't come out till next time, nor do I want to pressure anyone. Ah, the opening of a new chapter, turning over a new leaf... I want to see it all, the writing is just too good.

More suspence, mystery... promises of about just everything in the book... I better hurry and log for the night before I start drooling at the thought.

All I read while I was gone was incredible, the amount of detail thats in there is awsome. Cant wait to read more on this arc *locks arm to computer* which I WILL be here for XD

My next chapter, finally arrived after a quick break:

The sun was setting over the city as everyone there had gathered into a mall. They were all in a huge food court, with a big glass dome over the tables. The walls were literally lines with restaurants of all sorts, some fancy and high class, others fast food.

“Awesome place!” Yin shouted.

“I can’t wait to get started here!” Yoshiko shouted.

“Everyone, silence!” a voice shouted.

Everyone in the room quieted down. The person whom had called their attention was a toad, with a tuxedo. “…now, if you will all be seated, I can begin to explain the race.”

Everyone eagerly sat down at tables, waiting to hear what was to come.

“Now as you all know…” the proctor said, holding a mic in his hand. “This race, held annually, is our main and most dangerous attraction of them all. All of you are in this room because you signed up for this race. Maybe some of you need explanations about how this race will work?”

He began to walk into the dinning room, passing by the tables of the various competitors.

“This is a 5 day race. It will be very far, very fast…” he looked toward some of the others. “…and very dangerous. Now, a trademark rule about this race is, there are no rules.”

Everyone began to talk with one another.

“…well, other then you have to follow the paths assigned.” the proctor said. “But aside that, it’s an anything goes race. I don’t care what you do in it, I only care about who crosses the finish line.”

“Oh yeah, dangerous alright.” Yoshee said with wide eyes.

“Now, first thing’s first.” the proctor said. “To hear all of your assigned teams.” He walked toward Jolene, who was sitting nearby. “Jolene will read the teams off a card. When she reads them, I want the people to get up and stand in the front with their teams. The first name called on a team is it‘s leader!”

He handed the mic to Jolene, who took a quick glance at her clip-board. She then looked back up and towards them.

“Team 1: Yoshee, Champ, Charon, LD, and Jay Tanoshi.”

All five of them got up and gave a sigh of relief, happy to see they had been put into such a group. They all stood up, walked to the front of the room, and began talking to one another.

Jolene ignored their pleasure and looked again at her clip board.

“Team 2: Yoshiko, Yoshiken, Yin, Yoshifrog, and John.”

Yoshiken and Yoshiko exchanged a high-five. Yoshifrog gave a little cheer, and John gave a small smile. Yin turned to Moshi very suddenly and exclaimed: “Whatever team you’re on, you’re going down!”

They all stood up and walked to their own little section.

Jolene adjusted her glasses.

“Team 3: Teo, Lava, Treyba, Fantasy guy, and Velvet T.”

“Yes!” Lava and his friends all shouted. Teo gave a grin. “Cool, I’m the leader.”

They all got up and walked toward their own section.

“Team 4: Leoshi, Moshi, Spider, Eloeem, and Yapi.”

They all got up from their seats. Leoshi was surprised he was the leader, while Moshi gave a mischievous grin. Eloeem and Spider gave themselves handshakes while Yapi gave a cheer. They all walked up to the front and stood in their own positions.

“Now, for team 5.” Jolene said. “Midnight, Shez, Yoshark, Hunter, and Kator.”

“Whoa, Kator?” Yoshee asked suddenly.

The one named Midnight was up first. She was a dark yoshi with colors on her body that suited her name quite well. Her skin was black, and where most yoshis had white bellies, this one had dark gray. She had large black wings and lighter gray long hair that reached her shoulders. One of the most curious of all things about her was a strange black amulet which hung from her neck. She looks as strong as she looked mischievous.

The next one who walked in was Shez. He was also dark in color, and very intimidating looking, with black wings like a dragon’s. His shorter yellow hair could be seen coming from the top of his head. He gave an intimidating smile as he walked on.

The next one in line was Yoshark. He was a red yoshi with dark spiky hair on the top of his head. He also had dragon wings, and a yellow jacket as he walked on with his fellow competitors. Just like the first two, he looked a bit intimidating, but not as much. Still, he was a rather strong-looking one, and probably not one to be messed with.

The forth one in line was much more docile looking then the others. He was a small little lion cub walking on his two hind legs. He had white fur, and rather large blue eyes. Though one could se his little black nose, an unusual white cone placed around his neck covered up his mouth. He gave a playful little expression as he walked to follow his much more intimidating team-mates.

The final one in line was Kator, the woodland creature from before. Yoshee watched in astonishment as her acquaintance walked to meet up with his fellow team-mates.

<You know Kator?> Charon asked.

“Yeah, me and Champ met him in the woods when we were searching around Rogueport.” Yoshee replied.

“And now, for team 6!” Jolene said. “Charfg, Demon, Nauro, Zelek, and Mystère.”

“What?!” All of other competitors all exclaimed.

Captain Charfg walked back in with a dangerous smirk. “I told you I’d be back.”

Demon was next, still looking a bit shaken up from the previous day’s events, as
he soundlessly followed Captain Charfg.

Nauro, a blast from the past, the same cloaked dragon monster (minus his ride) walked onto the stage.

The one named Zelek walked up next. He was light blue, with an Arabic style hat and shirt. He looked completely dedicated and very serious.

“Oh my…” Yoshiken said, sound very nervous. “…I can’t… believe it.”

“You know him?” Yoshiko asked.

“…well…” Yoshiken looked down. “Let’s just say we go way back.”

The final one walked up on stage. He was basically a yoshi completely concealed by a black robe. Leoshi instantly recognized him.

“He’s one of the same cloaked guys that attacked me on the roof of the school when I first got the book!” Leoshi thought.

After a while, all the teams had been formed, making a total of 8.

“Now, each of the teams gets a map.” Jolene said. She quickly gave each of the teams a small map. “This is where you will go. Everyone gets to bring whatever they want, but can’t restock during the 5 day course. The race begins at 6:00AM tomorrow morning. Be there.” Jolene said.

As time went on, the teams went about getting their foods and supplies. Moshi, however, was sitting at her own table with John.

She looked across the room and spotted Midnight. Moshi narrowed her eyes. “That dark one.” she thought. “Out of all the other competitors in here, she gives of the worse dark feel about her.”

Midnight slowly got up from her table, and walked into a doorways where she vanished.

Moshi sighed and slowly got up. “John, may I borrow that mini-laser gun of yours?”

John looked into his pocket and threw her the small gun. “Be careful with that.”

Moshi followed Midnight through the door after that. This new chamber was much darker and quieter. This must have been a storage area of come sort. Unlike the posh and amazing lights in the rest of the mall, this room was lit only by a dim light bulb hanging on the ceiling.

“…weird…” Moshi said. ‘What’s she doing here?”

“I aught to ask you the same thin, you know.” a voice said.

Moshi gasped and turned around, spotting Midnight directly behind her. “Surprised?” Midnight asked.

“No.” Moshi said. “I can tell you have quite the dark aurora.”

“So you do, Moshi.” Midnight said. Both of them glanced at once another, their eyes narrowing as they looked longer. Moshi could almost sense it in Midnights eyes, she had some dark plan. Someone was in danger, that was for sure.

Suddenly, Moshi, realizing it was her who was in immediate danger, reached into her pocket and took out the mini-gun. She pointed it right at Midnight. But Moshi was shocked to see that Midnight had perfectly mimicked her move, pulling out a small laser gun of her own at the exact same time.

“Nice move.” Moshi said, giving a smirk.

“Not so bad yourself.” Midnight said. The dark yoshi sighed and lowered her gun, as Moshi did the same. “I’m going to keep an eye on you.”

After saying that dark phrase, she immediately jumped up into the air, then flew into a dark corner. Moshi growled and rushed to follow Midnight, only to find a dead end and nobody there.

Moshi sighed and placed her gun away. “So many past villains in this race, and now… this one, this dark one…”

Moshi closed her eyes. “…This is quite the interesting race.”

That sums up that quick one. I introduced a ton of new character, and brought back a lot of older characters as well. The next chapter will have preparation of all the teams, and then the one after that will kick off the race! All of this, coming soon!
