My newest piece written at long last. I hope you enjoy it!
------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun had already set by that time. It was remarkable how fast time flew after the race started. Everyone back at the city all eagerly awaited news about the competitors. Of course, it would have to wait until day 2, the day the racers would reach the end of the tunnel. Cameras were stationed at the exit of the cavern, keeping constant coverage of the area.
“My oh my, Jolene. I can’t believe how well this has worked out.” the Proctor stated. They both stood in his office, perched over the city and as the sun was finishing it’s trip behind the horizon. Darker orange rays of light shone though the large windows, providing only a little light.
“I must confess, so far, so good.” Jolene said. “Not a single accident.”
“And no inference from those criminals we heard about.” the proctor said. “I told you I was right.”
“Still…” Jolene sighed. “I… can’t help but feel that we’re not out of the woods yet. I still have a bad feeling about all of this.”
“Oh hush now, Jolene.” the proctor said. “I don’t want to hear anymore about those mysterious “criminals”. I will bet you that was just a hoax to scare us.”
“You may be right.” She replied. “…hm… though this race just feel so different this year.”
“Believe what you want to believe, miss.” the proctor said. “But don’t be bugging me about it, alright?”
He turned to look back out of the window. “It’s a beautiful night. Go and enjoy yourself. We got a lot of race coverage to see to tomorrow.”
“Yes, sir.” She said. Jolene walked toward the door of the office. Before leaving once again, she gave back one last glance at him, as he was still fixed to looking out the window. She adjusted her glasses, then promptly left the room, shutting the door very quietly behind her.
He turned back and looked at the door. “Meddling fool.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Are you happy now?” LD asked.
“No, not really.” Yoshee replied.
Their Chao Walker version 2 was half-submerged into the rapids within the cavern. It seemed like it had hit the surface so hard, the bottom had sprung a leak and a little bit of water had rushed into the lower compartments. The thingy-pit was already an inch deep in water.
“Let’s get this thing out of the water.” Jay said. “We got a lot of repairing to do. The rockets broke, and looking at-”
“If you had been leading better, we might not have crashed into the water like that!” LD shouted.
<Hey, don’t yell at her!> Champ replied.
“Just focus on driving, shorty.” LD responded.
“And don’t insult Champ.” Yoshee said. “It’s not like you’re helping!”
<This is pointless.> Charon said in an attempt to regain control of the group. <Calm down.>
“And you steer too.” LD said.
“Will you stop it?” Yoshee asked.
“Will you all stop it?” Jay asked.
They were interrupted by a loud bump, as everyone was thrown from their stations and onto the floor, making small splashes as they landed. The lights flickered a few times before staying on again.
“What the heck was that?” Yoshee asked.
LD looked over at the window. It seemed they were on the left side of the cavern. There was a part of land that peaked over the water itself, a sort of river bed. They had just beached themselves on the stretch of land.
“We’re on the ground again.” Yoshee commented.
“Good.” Jay said. He walked toward the door and opened it. As he did, the one inch of water began to flow outside of the thingy-pit. “Now we can start repairing.”
The winged dragon walked out of the room and onto the ground. The others all followed him outside.
“Wow, I didn’t realize how chilly it was in here.” Yoshee said.
They looked back at their ship. It was on the ground parallel to the river, on a 15 degree angle on the bank, with all of the flood water flowing out of it slowly and back into the river.
“The water soaked the jets and it will take all night to fix all of these holes.” Jay said.
“Just out luck.” LD said.
“Just think.” Yoshee commented, looking into the water. “If we’re doing this bad, just imagine how badly the others are doing here.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Woo, Party!” Spider exclaimed
The Majestuosa was now docked safely alongside the walls. It was anchored tightly to the area, making sure it was perfectly still regardless of the rapids.
Unlike the others who were enveloped in pitch darkness, the lights and warmth within the ship was at the equivalence of a house.
They had all gathered down to the lounge room of the ship, save for Leoshi who was in the galley. This room was well lit with the fancy light fixtures that hung from the wooden walls. Spider and Eloeem were sitting next to one another at a couch whilst Moshi was at the onboard computer. Merier was also in here, but he seemed to be asleep (being tossed about during the ship’s twists and turns made him tired).
“Remind me to thanks those guys back at Oceanside City for making such a comfy ship.” Eloeem said, lying down on the couch. There was some rock music coming from the computer that Moshi had decided to stay at.
Yapi was sitting on the stairs that led higher up to the ship. She looked like she was simply relaxing, contemplating on this days events.
The door to the galley opened up, and Leoshi walked back into the room. “Dinner’s all ready.”
“Sweet, what is it?” Eloeem asked.
“I know it’s not much because we need to conserve food, but I prepared a little pit of Pizza.” Leo said.
“Awesome!” Spider said.
“Hey guys, over here!” Moshi shouted.
Everyone left their spots to gather with Moshi at the computer. She pointed to a radio that was stationed right next to the computer and turned it up.
“…that’s right, everyone. Tomorrow is going to start of nice and sunny, but expect a lot of wind-storms to come hailing soon, as well as mild rain-storms during the evening.” the radio announcer said.
“Wow, awesome luck.” Yapi said. “With windstorms, we’ll be able to get very fast.”
“It’s… unbelievable.” Leoshi said with astonishment. “…we might actually win.”
-------------------------------------------------------------
“I can’t believe he beat me.” Yoshiken said.
He and his team were all on the ground, near the rapids. They had set up camp, comprised of a couple tents and a campfire. Yoshifrog and Yin were both roasting marshmallows, while Yoshiko was lying on the ground from pure exhaustion. John was sitting near the rapids watching them, while Yoshiken was sitting right by the fire.
“You know, it’s hard to fight on a boat.” Yin said. “I’m sure you’ll do better next time.”
“I don’t know.” Yoshiken said. He was starring at his reflection in his sword, with the flames of the campfire right behind him, giving a red glow on his reflection. “I thought I had him beat. How did he do that?”
“That, Zelek, he seems pretty powerful.” Yoshifrog said. “You’re not the strongest in the entire world, you know.”
Yoshiken slowly put his sword on the ground. “I was so very close. It was just a matter of one more swing.”
“Oh, it’s just one loss.” Yoshifrog said. “You have never lost before, and everyone loses once and a while.”
“I know…” Yoshiken said. “…but why did I have to lose to him?”
John’s curiosity had been aroused. He turned back at the others. “What’s so important about this Zelek guy anyway?”
“Let’s just say…” Yoshiken paused, as if looking for the right words. “…he’s someone I know that I haven’t seen in a long time… and I am surprised to see him back.”
“…” Yoshifrog looked down at the fire, and placed the marshmallow back over it’s flames.
“…I wonder why he’s back.” Yoshiken said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlike the other crafts and machines, Teo’s dragon form was much more steady. He was actually sitting down in the rapids, letting the water brush against his back as he sat down. Both of his claws were positioned over his mouth signifying that he was a little bored.
Lava and his group were all settles atop Lava.
“It’s the perfect plan.” Lava said. “As long as Teo stays here, nobody can get past us. Plus, he seems fine with it, so we can all rest here.”
“Wow oh wow.” Treyba said. “It’s not everyday you sleep on the back of a dragon.”
“Well, I once had to do that for a few days before we got the ship. This is just like old times.” Lava said.
“Cool.” Treyba, Fantasy guy, and Velvet T all said at the same time.
“Yeah, it was pretty fun.” he said.
He looked down the dark cavern. “Just think about what adventures are coming by tomorrow. We’ll be going downhill at an amazing speed! We’re going to win for sure!”
Teo surprised the others by giving a loud, long yawn, before his eyes slowly closed. It seemed he had fallen asleep while resting in the water.
“He’s got the right idea.” Velvet T said, lying on her back. “Let’s get some rest.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Report!” Midnight commanded. “How was everyone’s day at their post?” She had gathered everyone in the meeting room of the airship.
“It was a successful trip.” Shez said. “I didn’t see anyone since we left the city.”
“Same.” Yoshark said.
“And I saw nothing either.” Kator said.
Hunter gave a bit of a hesitant expression. Everyone turned toward Hunter, waiting for his reply.
“…well, hunter?” Midnight asked with an intimidating voice.
“No, didn’t see anyone!” he shouted quicky, standing on his toes, giving an uncomfortable expression, but trying his best to hide it under his bizarre cone.
Shez and Yoshark rose their eyebrows.
“…right.” Shez said.
“…you look a little nervous.” Yoshark said. “Are you sure nothing happened?”
“Positive!” Hunter said, placing his paw on his forehead in a military stance.
“At ease, soldier.” Midnight replied with a deadpan voice.
“Anyway, I’m glad it was pretty smooth.” Shez said. “Now if you guys don’t mind, I’m tired.”
“Ditto.” Yoshark said. Both of them walked out of a door and away from the room. Midnight went to follow them, slamming the door behind her.
Hunter gave a sigh of relief. “…whew, that was close.”
“What was?” Kator asked. Hunter turned and spotted Kator, whom he had forgotten about.
“Oh, nothing!” Hunter replied, regaining his nervousness once again.
“…if you’re sure.” Kator said. He began to walk out of the room. He tilted his head and looked back. “…Hunter, we’re a crew now. Just remember if something happened, you can count on me to talk about it.”
With that, Kator walked out of the room, leaving Hunter standing their nervously.
Hunter sighed and sank down against the wall and sat down on the floor. His little tail swayed to and fro as he recalled that moment earlier.
“So kid, are we clear? This meeting never happened.”
Those words still lingered on his memory. He realized this Moshi character scared him. He wasn’t willing to meet up with her anytime soon.
“Let’s hope… that tomorrow is going to be better.”
---------------------------------------------------------------
That’s it for this one. The next chapter will have a lot of action and a few more battles. Not to mention a small little twist of my own. It will be done as soon as possible.

Thanks, I am glad you all liked the last one! Alright, after being long overdue, I finally got my next piece completed at last! Enjoy all!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daylight, at long last, shone. It rose from behind the mountains and clouds at first, then slowly ascended into the great skies above. Many at Prospesky City had gone to small restaurants to go grab a breakfast, but more importantly, to watch the races continue, broadcasted live on TV.
“Hello, and welcome to day two of the races!” the Proctor announced on the television. “As of now, it looks like all of the competitors are still inside the caverns. People from all over the city has already made bets on the racers. Jolene has more on this story.”
The camera turned to face Jolene, with a projection of the stats of the race.
“So far, the current leader is Captain Charfg, in second: Yoshiko’s team, third: Teo’s team, fourth: Midnight‘s team, fifth: Leoshi’s team, and in last place, Yoshee’s team. Let’s take a look at the official bets.”
A new statistics board appeared behind her.
“In first place, with bets of 100,000 citizens and rising, Yoshiko’s team! In second, Midnight’s team with 80,000, then in third, to my surprise, Charfg’s team with 76,432! In fourth place, Teo’s team with 40,532. In fifth, Leoshi’s team with 2,009, and in last place, Yoshee’s team with 23. But who knows how this race will go? We’ll bring you up-to-date stats on the race, right here!”
---------------------------------------------------------------
“What?!” LD asked.
Everyone on Yoshee’s team, who had recently patched up the Chao Walker (literally), where gathered around it’s internal radio.
“We’re in last place in the bets?” Jay asked. “I figured that at least some of the city had more faith in us.”
On cue, a sudden breeze blew through the cavern, and one of their patches ripped off the side and flowed through the cavern, to fall into the rapids and quickly sink in. The group responded with a sigh of exasperation.
“Well then, we can surprise the entire town!” Yoshee said.
<Just imagine what it will be like when we win!> Champ added.
“Yeah, a lot of people will probably go bankrupt.” Jay said.
“Alright, let’s go already!” LD said. “Everyone’s going to pass us if we don’t!”
“Newsflash, we’re already dead last.” Yoshee said.
“…” LD responded with a scowl. “…whatever. Are we going to go, or what?”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Ladies and Gentlemen!” the Proctor shouted. “It’s come to our attention that the one of the racers is approaching the end of the cave!”
“100 coins says it’s the Charfg guy!” someone in a restaurant shouted.
“You’re on.” another replied.
“Remember, folks!” the Proctor continued. “At the end of the cavern, there will be a series of green flags. Competitors are required to get collect one of them as they pass. Remember, they need to collect at least one flag from three places in order to be able to pass the finish line!”
There was the sound of something approaching quickly. The sound of a motor coming closer, and closer, until-
BANG!
Charfg’s small boat shot from the exit of the cave. The crowds in the restaurants all cheered.
“You owe me 100!” someone else in the back shouted.
Zelek reached outward, quickly grabbing a green flag as their boat raced past. “Got it!”
As soon as they had reached the flag, to their surprise, they also reached a waterfall. The falls must have been about 300 feet down, leading to the river below. The boat immediately fell down the falls, all of the occupants screaming. It smashed the bottom of the falls too hard, almost immeadtly striking the rocks. The boat was directly grounded on the rocks.
“BLAST!” Ansem shouted. “No! No!! NOOOOO!!!!!”
Next in line, from behind the cave, Yoshiko and his team flew out.
“Ow, OW!” Yoshiko shouted. “I can’t reach the flags!”
“What?” Yin asked.
“Either I grab a flag, or let go of you!” Yoshiko shouted back.
They could only fly past the flags, giving angry scowls.
“I’m sorry!” Yoshiko shouted.
“…oh, it’s alright.” Yoshifrog said. “But now what?”
Yoshiken looked ahead, at the grounded ship. “I have an idea.”
They quickly dove down the falls, keeping themselves in the air, so as not to touch the water at all. They glided past Charfg and his crew, as they were trying to quickly repair the boat. As they did, Yoshifrog reached outward, quickly snatching the flag from Zelek’s hand. “Gotcha!”
Zelek and his group looked over at Yoshiko’s group as they passed by. “HEY!”
Yoshiko’s entire group gave a laugh. “In your faces!” Yin shouted.
Yoshiken was the only one who didn’t taunt, but instead looked back toward Zelek with an angry glare.
“Whoa, how about this, ladies and Gentlemen?!” The Proctor shouted. “Yoshiko’s team has not only advanced to first, but has stolen Charfg’s flag!”
It was about then, that two more came out of the cave at the same time. It was Midnight’s crew, and Teo and his group. Teo’s dragon form, albeit huge, was still somewhat small in comparison to Midnight’s airship.
“Now’s your chance!” Treyba shouted to Lava.
Lava nodded, and ran all the way to Teo’s head. He poised on top, taking out his key blade, and pointing it at the Airship.
“You want a piece of me?” Lava asked, trying to strike a heroic pose.
Midnight looked over the rails of her ship as she towered above them. “…Hunter, Kator, go ahead and relax. Shez, Yoshark, come with me. This shouldn’t last too long.”
Shez and Yoshark arrived on the deck, aside from Midnight.
“You’re right, this should be quick.” Shez said.
All three of then winged Yoshis jumped from the edge of the Airship and hovered in the air, before Teo.
Lava gave a determined laugh. “You guys are no match for me!”
He took a quick spin, and threw his key blade toward them. As he did, he kept his hands pointed at the blade, controlling it’s trajectory direction. It was currently headed toward Yoshark.
Yoshark quickly dodged the blade, missing it by only a few inches.
Lava became immediately aggravated, directing the blade toward Shez this time. Shez flew upwards to avoid the blade, which seemed to be following him this time.
“Hey Midnight, you ready?” Shez asked.
“Do it.” Midnight said simply.
Shez flew right behind Midnight, as the blade targeted them both. Midnight simply rose her hand outwards, and in an effortless move, caught the blade in her hands.
“Whoa!!!” Lava shouted.
Midnight simply took the blade and gave it a quick toss. However, it flew right toward Teo’s body this time.
Teo tilted his head, just in time to see the enormous blade flying right at him. With no time to avoid, the dragon was struck in his right side. Teo gave a roar of agony and his passengers all screamed as he spiraled in the air and out of control, crashing into the field of green flags. One of the flags flew into the air and landed on the airship.
“There, see?” Midnight asked. “Over with one move. Let’s go.” They didn’t even fall down the falls, instead, they continued to fly over them, passing by Charfg’s fallen boat.
Hunter, who watched Teo and his group crash from the window, sighed and looked down. “Is the title of first place really worth all of this?”
Back outside, the Majestuosa shot out of the Cavern. Because of the high excess of wind, they were going faster then ever.
“Nice breeze today, huh?” Spider asked.
“What?!” Yapi shouted over the loudness of the gale that was bringing them along. As they sailed along.
Moshi looked over the port deck and spotted the flags, some of which had been knocked over due to Teo’s crash.
“Ow…” She said, starring at the site. “That had to hurt.” She quickly flew over to the side of the river, picked up a flag, then flew back on.
“What had to hurt?” Eloeem asked, who hadn’t seen the crash.
“Nothing.” Moshi replied.
The ship flew right over the edge of the falls. Her wings opened up as they did, she was immediately cast into the air at a high speed, flying right over the two crash sites.
Finally, in the back, a beaten up vehicle floated out of the cave. It was Yoshee and her team, aboard the makeshift-repaired Chao Walker. It slowly drifted down the falls, and passed right by the crash areas. Charon flew out on a window, then reached and grabbed a flag, before flying back into the walker.
“Uh, Yoshee… we have a problem.” LD said.
“What is… uh oh.” Yoshee replied. They all looked ahead toward the waterfall.
“This won’t end well.” Jay replied.
Everyone gave a collection of screams as the walker flew off the side of the falls. After a few seconds of falling, they struck the bottom of the falls. The machine bounced off the water in the bottom, then fell back in, throwing all of it’s crew to the floor.
After the fall, the machine was left, floating on top of the river, soaked by intact, left to drift to the flow of the river.
“Looks like we’re not in last anymore.” LD said. Yoshee looked out the window, spotting the grounded ship that belonged to Charfg, and Teo and his group, trying to recover from the crash.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“How about that!?” The Proctor shouted. “The tides have already changed in the race! Yoshiko and his team gained the lead, followed closely behind by Midnight and the Airship! In third, Leoshi, in fourth, Yoshee, in fifth, Teo, and in last place, Charfg and his group!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Well, what do you propose we do now?” Demon asked.
“We fix the boat, catch up to them, and beat the tar out of them!” Ansem replied angrily.
“We can’t attack without deciding a course of action first…” Zelek said. “…and I do believe I may have an idea. But we’ll have to rely on how gullible Yoshiken is. Oh yes… if we can get to that imbecile, we’ll have no problem winning this race.”
“You have a lot of problems with him, huh?” Ansem asked.
Zelek looked down. “I swear, I’ll get my vengeance on that jerk!”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s it for now. More coming, hopefully soon. Yes, only one scene. More twists will be coming soon!
