Super Smash Bros. Brawl

First of all, I'm surprised there wasn't already a topic about this game. Or I'm just as blind as a bat, this topic can be closed if there already is one.

Anyway, for people who don't know about SSB Brawl (though I doubt people here don't know about it), a little info first.

This game is (obviously) from the Super Smash Bros. series. The main goal in this game, is to knock your opponent out of the stage in any way. You can do this by racking up their damage meter, making them fly further away.

This new part in the series will include more characters and stages than the previous ones, with around 40 characters to choose from. The only actual info we have has been seen in the 2 trailers and screenshots, which can be viewed at the main site.

The only characters confirmed so far, are: Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Meta Knight, Samus(?), Zero Suit Samus, Pit, Wario, Fox McCloud and, more surprisingly, Solid Snake. Many fans are eager to see Sonic the hedgehog in there too, but it's a matter of time to see if he actually makes it. It's also yet unknown which characters will return, but most characters will probably get in there.

Yoshi is the most likely non-confirmed character to make it in, as there's a Yoshi's Island themed stage to be seen in the newest trailer.

What I'd like to know is, what's everyones expectation for this game?

This game will be phenomenal, and probably one of the only reasons ill be getting a Wii (not just the only reason though ^^).

I guess ill help with adding info as well. You all know the basic style of the game, so ill only go to the in-depth info.

The director stated that not all the characters in SSBM will appear in SSBB. There will be at least one character that will not appear in SSBB that appeared in prequels. Do not fear about yoshi however, because it was stated that all original characters that appeared in SSB will make it to SSBB.

It was also said that aerial combat will be much more dynamic in SSBB than before. The director replied to questions about characters by saying that he will try to put more balance in characters than before, so that skill is more of a factor in battle.

Another portion I found...disappointing, was how the online playing will come about. There will be online play, but there will be no ranking system (which I actually desired).

If any character's going to go, it'll probably be one of the clones, like Dr. Mario. I think they've stated that they don't want to have clone characters in SSBB.

Yeah, they have stated that they'll get rid of clones, making both Dr. Mario and Young Link less likely to re-appear. Other clones, like Falco and Ganondorf, will probably get a new moveset. Roy might also be cut though, since I think he was only placed in Melee to promote the new Fire Emblem back then.

The music for this game appears to be coming from Nobuo Uematsu, the one who usually composes Final Fantasy music. Now, I've enjoyed Final Fantasy music pretty much, so I expect the music to be good (enough).

One thing that got me worried in the last trailer though, was Wario's apparent lack of frames in his moves. He looked like the new Mr. Game&Watch sometimes. I'm sure they'll fix it though, the game's not even near done yet.

Oh yeah, a new thing in this one appears to be something like a Smash Emblem. Once a character picks this up, he/she gets to use a devistating Super attack. Mario will unleash a big wave of fire, Link will trap someone between two Triforce's and slash at them in a frenzy, etc. Really makes you wonder what kind of super attack some characters might have... I think Yoshi will have something big with his tongue!

That topic introduced the coming out of the game, and the desire for certain attributes, while the one you have created gives factual information that allows others to see how the game works ^^.

I really hope Young Link is not taken out, although its probably that he might be. He is one of my absolute favorites XD.

Actually, they're getting rid of only a few people. Most of the clones will supposedly have their own moves this time around.

Y'know, there are a lot of really overrated characters out there. Like Meta Knight. It's Kirby with a sword, c'mon now.

i'm surprised that they didn't include more new characters like crystal from the late star fox games, and some people from the tales of symophoeia game like Loyd and Colette and other people, i mean that was a very good game. i'm still disappointed of that though.

Most of the clones will supposedly have their own moves this time around.

I think I said it in the wrong way there. I meant that they'll get rid of real clones, like Y. Link and Dr. Mario, but characters like Falco and Ganondorf might not be. Maybe if they make alternate costumes, they can still put the kid and the doc in there though.

And my bet is that we'll see Krystal in there yet, or at least Star Wolf. I wouldn't bet on ToS characters though, they're from a series not owned by Nintendo.

I loved the look of the Yoshi's Island stage(s?) in that one trailer. I can't wait to actually fight on it Double-scoop ice cream

Although in the second, I'm wondering why fox appears as the last character introduced?

Also, I had read the interview, they're planning to include the "Wario Waft" as a move. I REALLY want this game when it pops out

Sonic is actually more likely. He has a series of his own and all, AND is the most wanted character to be included. My guess is the only thing that'll stop him from getting in, is Sega saying no.
I don't see characters from ToS appearing in there because they're from a single game, which isn't even owned by Nintendo. IF they're gonna get an RPG character in there, it'll most likely be from one of the Mario RPG's.

I'm going to side with Bloodyoshi on this one. The more that people go "OMG, I want Sonic in SSBB," the more I go "OMG, I don't want Sonic in SSBB."

I want Sonic in SSBB. He's cool beans. They threw in enough characters who I don't think fit the theme of the previous smash games at all and who I've never even heard of before, so it would be nice if they put in an extra character I actually like.

But yeah, I'm definately looking forward to Brawl. It's one of the main reasons why I'm actually getting a Wii.

If Sonic is in SSBB then you can shoot him with LASERs and whatever other freaky stuff they'll throw in there.

Needless to say my feelings on his inclusion are mixed.

Everyone was about the same skill level in Smash 64. There wasn't much to it.

Because SSBM was so competitive, I don't expect Brawl to be any different unless they make it dramatically more simple. Like, Smash 64 simple. The only way to catch up to those guys is to practice more yourself, which seems to work for me.

I want this game. So. Freaking. Bad. D: I want, no, NEEEEDS it! :< I don't really like the new character selections though. I don't even know half of them. Wario is cool though, but that's about it. And the graphics~:B I'm seriously a graphic hog. I don't know why but games with bad graphics turn me away mostly, I'm sorry. ): And I hope they get rid of stupid objects, such as the invisble thing. It works for about 5 seconds, but then you loose track and oops, you fell off an edge. D: And if sonic makes it in... I will crush someones bones, burn them to a crisp, and feed the ashes to chickens! Chickens!

They better not kick out Roy, I loved playing him. D: I really want this game. But then again I need a Wii.. >_>;; My parents have been dropping hints that they got one for Christmas... I want Twilight Princess first though. <_<

This game looks really nice. The addition of Snake was real surpirse in the beginning. I thought it was cute how they brought him in. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! ! But, there are some characters from the older games I wasn't really introduced to before. Like I've never played Earthbound and Kid Icarus.. So I'm kind of missing out there. D:

But the backgrounds look awesome and the new abilities are very intriguing :3 I like the idea of vocals in the background music. And Nobuo Uematsu. :3 Can't wait to just listen to the background music. XD I mean I have the SSBM version of Together We Ride on my iPod.

Bleh, I want this game to come out now. D: But I can wait a little longer. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !
