Teo's suprise was quick at the response, with large signs of panic all over his face. Not only had Yoshee just made an action that could get him fired, Teo had not reacted in the calm manner he was trained to, and just starred at his manager, back at Yoshee, and back at his manager. The manager returned an official, bureaucratic gaze, gleaming with authority, which became soft and turned to Yoshee. Completely calmly, he said, "Is something wrong miss?"
The crucial moment repeated dozens of times in Teo's head, slightly different each time, but to the same result. "Yeah, teach your servants some manners!... This guy just cat-called me!... You think I'm going to tip this guy?" Oh god, Yoshee HAD to do this against me? She couldn't have just asked... think... think...
Just as Yoshee was ready to speak one of the many ways he could get fired, Teo said, "Boss... I'm sorry, I just got tired after this shift, and I've been... out late, I just got in a bit of a mood... here! I still have some vacation days, let me take a week off!"
Teo had planned his words carefully to give him the best chance, and the scared accent was purposeful. The manager looked at Yoshee, then at Teo, then back at Yoshee. "Whadya think this guy deserves, miss?" Teo closed his eyes tightly, hopping to trigger pity, his last hope. Oh no oh no oh no...

I was a bit startled by Teo's reacting. It had been a joke, for heaven's sake. I had better save his tail before he made a scene out of a little prank. Think quicker, Yoshee. Uhm... "I think this guy could use two weeks off," I said slyly. I'd have to get used to traveling with a group all over again, heh. Couldn't hardly remember how to make good jokes any more. The scattered bits of my humor seemed to be having a few difficulties finding each other again.

Yoshiken nodded his head in agreement with Leoshi, "yes, I am also in need of some restocking for my lack of supplies. By the way, have you had any luck in actually finding a supply shop?, because I have not, and its quite frustrating."
Yoshiken then lowered his voice to almost a whisper, "...and I know what you mean about this 'missing person' incident. It is more than odd when you get right down to it. I mean, nothing adds up in this whole case."
He paused for a moment, and then asked, "Hey Leoshi...how about we form our own search party?, because this man deserves to be found as quickly as possible, and it doesn't seem like any of us is having any luck on our own at the moment. Think of it as a reunion of the past adventuring we used to partake in together. We might even be able to join up with some other individuals who are willing to take on this case. I know its a little short on notice, but what do ya' say?"

Teo's relief came over again, but he was still nervous. He wasn't sure about what his boss's reaction would be, but the manager had a vague idea. "Come with me a sec Teo," he said, indicating the kitchen. Teo gave a slight gulp and led the way, the boss right behind him. He gave Yoshee one last look before dissappearing behind the doors with his boss. His boss, as soon as he entered the kitchen, addressed Teo: "Now tell me, totally honestly, what happened?" Teo, when told to answer honestly, does not think and answers flat out pure truth. "Well I know that girl, and well... I think she tried to get me fired so I could come with her to," Stop giving everything else! Get a hold! "well, actually I don't know yet, I didn't ask her. Does seem like she wanted me to be out for awhile though." The manager laughed, a hearty chuckle and came back to his senses, "Teo Teo Teo... if it wasn't for the fact that you're the one who admitted to breaking the dishes last week and admitting it was indeed your shot to cleanup, I wouldn't believe you. But you're trustworthy... except for that little part about staying out late, you were just trying to get out of getting fired, weren't you?" "Yes..." Teo responded. "Ha! Well, I think you do need a week off, straighten out those funky thoughts, and get back together with your girlfriend." "SHE'S NOT MY... boy, you sound like a certain someone I know... Eheheh... Blood me buddy..." "Aw whatever, just get out of here. You're fired for a week, how's that?" "Do I keep the vacation days ?" "Second thought, you're hired again. Now I don't want to see you for a week, get out of here!" Teo smiled, his boss had understood, and honesty had finally payed off. He took off his servant's apron and set his book down. The manager gave Teo the money he'd earned, while Teo set off towards the exit, a smile on his face. He pushed the doors open, smiling, and left the restaurant, looking at the people inside again. He stopped short though when he spotted a booth... with two very familiar Yoshies in it. Oh my god, it's Yoshiken and Leoshi! What are they doing here!? Teo thought to himself, finding himself gazing at them a minute, shifting his gaze back to Yoshee, and left the restaurant.

Drurziek could do nothing but laugh as the blue Yoshi waiter begged mercy of the restaurant owner and manager, Skotzo, to let his blunder slip. The green Yoshi that he was catering tried to make a joke of the situation; however, the waiter's actions amused Drurziek more than the green Yoshi. So I guess I didn't have the worst day at work after all... It was still only sixteen minutes until one o'clock.
Drurziek was somewhat disappointed that Skotzo let his fumbling employee get off easy. "When he comes back, you should extend his shift two more hours per day," he jokingly remarked to the owner when he passed.

Leo nodded to Yoshiken. "Right, it's probably in the lost person's best intrest that we find him as soon as possible. Though this town does seem to lack any major supplies, so if we go, I will have to manage with whatever I have on me." he shrugged.
Leo looked around, checking for possible search party members. "On one hand, we'll have more power in numbers, while on the other, they might be put at risk if they come." Leoshi began to think. "Hm... what to do..."

Yoshiken focused on the situation, and after some deep thought, he spoke out,"Well, with all this anxiety, it seems I have lost my appetite. Between the two of us, I bet we have enough supplies left to last at least a few days. So I say we leave ASAP, and maybe, if we are lucky, we will find another search party to join up with during our travels."
Yoshiken adjusted his headband, and stood by the exit, "so, whenever you are ready, we will depart. I will wait outside until you are done with whatever business you have here."
Yoshiken walked out of the restaurant and stood by the restaurant, trying to connect the whole situation in his mind.

I squinted at Teo as he left. Did he look at me that way, or was I just imagining it? Oh well, I might as well follow him since all I was doing was sitting in front of an emtpy bowl. I heaved a sigh as I went through the doors, but when I got outside, I saw Teo grinning. Since I had no idea why, I couldn't help but flash a smile in his direction. I took my time addressing him again, gazing at the door where the two familiar Yoshis- Yoshiken and Leoshi, I quickly decided- were coming out. Yoshiken looked a bit puzzled, so I went up to him. "Teo and I would like to come along," I told him matter-of-factly, knowing perfectly well what he was trying to puzzle out. He was an adventurer and adventuring was what he did best... Or at least, that's what I thought. There was no other reason for him to be hanging out in front of a restaurant. "Although that doesn't answer your ealier question of where the supplies shop was..." I fell into thought as well for a few seconds. Why would this guy be up in the mountains, anyways? I hadn't had time to pick up on what the guy was crazy about. Mushrooms, maybe? I heard there were a few good 'Shrooms growing in some caves in the mountains... Maybe. I dropped the train of thought and practically bounced over to Teo again. "We're going along with him," I motioned my thumb backwards at Yoshiken.

After Drurziek's brief entertainment was over, his attention was turned to a small group of Yoshies walking out of the restaurant who were scheming a plan to find this missing Yoshi. The small party was discussing an issue with supplies. Drurziek instantly found himself an asset to any type of search effort, as he had a very good knowledge of the area, and still had a few surplus camping items from his brief days as a patrol officer in the nearby forest. Plus, the large chunk of change as consequence of a success was awfully intriguing... Especially true for a person like him with no obvious sense in direction in his life.
"I have a few things back at my hut that may help, depending on your needs," he alerted the search party. "And trust me, the kinds of supplies that you're looking for are difficult to find and somewhat expensive around here."

"Uh, wow." was all that Teo could mutter up like response. Yoshee gets him to go find the missing Yoshi along with old friends, and a stranger appears out of nowhere and offers them help.
Teo approached the group that was slowly forming, "Well then, if we're all on the same side, then let's gather supplies. I'll take care of the food, but don't count on eating any meat in the next few days if that's what you're thinking." Teo marveled at the thought, of all people who would be bringing supplies, he would be bringing food. He turned to the one he didn't know and addressed him, "Uh... New guy, what kinda things do you have that could be of use?... and what's your name?... and are you laughing?"

Yoshiken stared at Yoshee, Teo, and Drurziek in amazement, "well, I never thought that I would find new members this fast. However, it is definitely for the best that we go in these numbers. We all seem to have our own special attributes that will help on this journey."
Yoshiken was about to question Drurziek about his supplies, but Teo beat him to it. Yoshiken awaited an answer, as he rested his back against the wall.

Drurziek was addressed almost immediately by the restaurant waiter that was the restaurant's owner's leniency away from being fired; the dark blue Yoshi's choice of words, particularly "Uh... New Guy," somehow irked him. Sure, I don't know this guy... but according to Skotzo, he's doesn't seem to be his favorite employee... And I don't really like how he greeted me for a person who waits tables for a living...
He wasn't ready to vent his displeasure yet. He still had to make first impressions with four other people. "First of all, my name is Drurziek Vanekakshur. And second, I have some excess camping equipment, a few weapons, but not much, a good amount of perishable food...
"And better yet, I know this place like the back of my hand. I know exactly where that elusive gate is... even though I wouldn't normally go within three hundred feet of it. In this case, I'll make an exception because I've never seen any of you before, and I know just about everyone in this town since it's so small. You guys could have a good chance at failing early if you take the wrong route. People who go through the forest to get this gate sometimes get lost before they even reach the stupid thing. However, I know a path through that area that could get us there in one and a half to two days."
Drurziek paused for a few seconds to let the other members of the search party mentally digest his mini-speech. "So, anyone interested in my services?"

I had to refrain myself from asking about this "Gate." I'd heard it mentioned before by passing townsfolk... Something about it and a meteor shower that lasted almost a week. It was supposed to start yesterday or so, I thought. Well, since this Drurziek obviously wanted to help, I supposed he could explain it on the way. So I raised my hand. "I say you can come," I informed him. I looked around to see if anyone in our little group objected.

Leoshi had finally walked out of the restaurant to see Yoshiken and the rest of the group talking.
"Oh, it seems he is already ahead of me." Leo thought. "Ah well, I suppose numbers would be safer anyway." Leo decided not to jump into their conversation immediately, instead deciding to listen attentively to the conversation.
He had walked in upon the words: "Elusive Gate".
"Hm... a gate? How can an inanimate object be elusive? But more importantly, what role does it play in this?" He thought.

Yoshiken noticed Leoshi come out of the store, and stepped forward to greet him. "Hey Leoshi, we seem to have gotten ourselves quite a group in such a short amount of time. Our mission should go fine now, as long as we have the work ethic to complete this job."
Yoshiken turned his attention towards Drurziek, "Well, Drurziek, it seems that you are a very significant asset for this quest. Your supply quantity, and your knowledge of the area, are what we need to complete this successfully. It would be foolish not to accept your request."

"Alright then, it seems to be settled!" Teo said, enthusiastic but low enough not to be overheard. "We could all get ready and meet again with our supplies in about an hour, or we could wait for tomorrow, get an early start, have more daylight... you know. Course there's the fact that someone's life is at stake, and even more at risk if we leave later... your picks." Teo was ready to rush and get all the supplies he needed, but some of his supplies would probably take an hour to get together. In the mean time, something else troubled Teo.
Hmmm, that Druziek dude... first he knows about the gate, but where from? It seems he's even visited it, I barely read the basics about it. Second, it seems he's the perfect person to take along, almost too perfect. He's knowledgeful, supplied... it's too perfect. I almost want him to just not come along, from my experience, it's tough having a rat in a group. No matter, I just can't keep my back to him. I was about to ask to establish a leader to co-ordinate us, but I don't want this guy leading us.

Drurziek smiled at the response of the others. "I guess we can get started now. Anyone interested in coming to my house, follow me. In the meantime, I might want to know who you all are, as I know not a single one of you." Something in waiter-Yoshi's eyes didn't please Drurziek, but he wasn't going to show any of that.
The town native marched away from the restaurant to the north. A block in this direction and several blocks east stood Drurziek's hut, where he planned on putting some extra items that he wouldn't use otherwise to good use.

I missed the look in Teo's eyes as I thought about waiting for tomorrow or leaving today. "Well, since we've barely eaten breakfast, I think it's early enough for us to get a good head start. Besides, doesn't the meteor shower only last less than a week? I want to be able to see it while we're searching for the guy... We could be well up into the mountains by the end of the day if we hussle," I explained. I had hardly unpacked since my arrival a few days ago, so finding my traveling gear wouldn't be too difficult. I could afford to stand around and make surfe everyone knew the plan. It kind of irked me that I wouldn't get another chance at good first impressions- only one person I didn't already know was coming along. It could hardly be called a coincidence that we all ended up in the same town at the same time, but I supposed I couldn't complain. At least I knew a lot of the strengths and weaknesses of the group already.

Yoshiken followed closely behind Drurziek and decided to be the first one to answer him, "My name is Yoshiken Draconi, and, well, I guess you could say im a wandering swordsman. I was in a nearby village collecting supplies for another particular journey I was on, when I heard that there was trouble over in this town. I decided to lend my services to successfully end this case, and that is why I am here."
Yoshiken awaited answers by the other members of the group as he followed Drurziek to his desired destination.

Aw whatever, maybe I'm just a bit paranoid. Yeah, that's it... I know myself well enough, I get suspicious. What bugs me is I can't read his expressions well, and his voice is either real convincing or truthful. No matter, he's helping us, and I'm going on an adventure. So far, I haven't died yet, why should this be the day :D
Teo followed Druziek, quietly, but smiling.
