By the end of the day, I had fallen back from Drurziek. I couldn't tell what he thought of me; I must've ticked him off by now. Anyone else would be more than a little annoyed at having their heels trod on every fifteen minutes for an entire afternoon. I wouldn't use a sleeping bag; the grass was my blanket and the moon my nightlight. Besides a few rough areas and a rather steep area Drurziek had let us rest before traversing, I had walked rather easily. If the rest of the hike was this easy, we could quicken our pace tomorrow... "We should keep watches. I'll be first and wake someone up in two hours or so," I offered. I would rather get all my sleep at once, since once I was up, there would be no falling back asleep for me.

"I volunteer the second watch then." Leoshi spoke, after being silent for a while. "Though I highly doubt I will get too much sleep tonight. Such a quiet place and environment would be a nice place to practice." he thought to himself. He looked to gaze upon the still-darkening skies. He had brought a tent with him, which he had kept stuffed inside of his backpack during the walk.
Peering away from the sky and to his right, he saw a fruit tree. One of the tree-branches was just low enough that he was able to reach and pull a succulent, ripe fruit. He took it into his hand, stared carefully at it, and adjusted his glasses, as if to examine the fruit closely. He, unlike the others, didn't have enough time to eat at the restaurant, and naturally prepared fruit would be better then what they probably served anyhow. Satisfied, he then took it tossed it up into the air, catching it with the other as he waited.

"Well, I guess that means I have acquired third watch." replied Yoshiken, as he started setting up his own sleeping bag. After getting all the creases out, he finally rested down on it. He couldn't sleep with all the anxiety he felt for the upcoming days, so he just laid down and gazed at the stars. Yoshiken always felt a sense of tranquility and wonder whenever he looked into the cosmos.
After a few minutes, Yoshiken closed his eyes hoping to force himself to sleep. He could tell that this was going to be a long night.

By the time the sun had set, the group had reached the small cavity in the woods where they would set up there tents. After Leoshi had assembled his, Drurziek set up his own tent nearby. Drurziek's tent was not very large; it was able to sustain only about six people. However, it would initially seem as if he would spend the night alone in the tent, as the other members seemed to have settled in elsewhere.
He notice Yoshee, Leoshi, and Yoshiken establishing watches. Drurziek himself didn't call a watch, but he would be able to sense if something malicious to the group was about to happen. During his time as a toll minder, he'd always be awakened by extraneous beings within approximately twenty yards from his booth. Any strange noises by such an object would likely awaken the blue Yoshi in a reasonable amount of time.
Entering his tent with his possessions, Drurziek rolled out his sleeping bag on the almost empty floor of his tent; the only object was his own sleeping bag. He called to the rest of the group, "Anyone is invited to stay in my tent if you need to." However, with the positions of the others, he didn't anticipate anyone joining him. This wouldn't bother Drurziek; he was used to being alone; at times, he was fond of it.
With no one other than him occupying his tent, he reached for his semi-hidden sword and examined it. The handle gleamed of a lighter-than-gold color; the blade was a simple silver. On one side of the blade near the handle, "VANEKAKSHUR", Drurziek's surname, was engraved. This sword had passed through his father, his father's father, and his father, dating back to the days of the island's independence movement. Drurziek only spent a few minutes staring at the sword before hiding it again in the leather sleeve and back in his backpack.

Ok... watches. I wonder if someone will just take my watch... I can't sleep less than a certain amount or I get cranky. Never mind, even if I did keep watch, I would probably be half asleep through it. Better someone else, more responsible take it. Teo waited, then thought, What a selfish thought! I should help out more than I am now! I want to be a part! Teo settled down his bag, and proclaimed to no one in particular, "Alright then, I'll be taking the morning watch after Yosh'Ken's finished. Don't count on me waking up in a very good mood though," Teo chuckled. It'll take my mind off the garden business. If I don't get it right, I'll have to wait till the next cycle... and god, I don't want to wait that long!
"Mean time, who wants a little supper? I only have a few things, but I made'm myself." Teo unpacked what seemed like two pots with four handles, but was really just four pots, two piled on each other. Large pots. Teo boiled stuff, and when he wanted it fried, he used a rock. From a side pocket, Teo unpacked a variety of spices, some that he had taken without looking (he liked interesting mixes). Teo found a boulder protruding from the ground, sprint to get fire wood, and started making a fire on the dry rock. Why'd I bring two empty pots? All I need to do is heat up the mash. With... admitedly, some difficulty and errors, Teo found a way to heat the dish on his fourth try, by using rocks to support the pot while setting wood underneath. Teo bent close to the wood, whispered to it, and it was immedietaly ablaze. God I bet that was suspicious. "Supper'll be set in 'bout five minutes! Just gotta warm it up." Teo's thoughts seemed to stunt for a second. "Hope you brought silverware!"

Leoshi, who’s attention had been focused entirely towards pitching his tent, looked back. Teo seemed to have started a fire, and supper seemed to be in the works.
“Oh, I did.” Leoshi said, with a simple smile, sifting through all the random items in his pack to find them. He took his mallet and finally finished setting the tent up. He opened it up and went inside it, turning on a lantern which made the tent give off a glow. He came back out a second later, once more looking at Teo.
“Thanks for cooking, by the way. What are you making?”

"Oh not much. Mashed pumpkin and yam. Alone it isn't the best, but I've got a few spices somewhere... shouldn't be too bad. But you're going to be tired of it after a few days, trust me." Teo said, replying to Leo. At least Leo was someone he knew well enough.
Teo went to his backpack, which was nearly empty now. He pulled out eight clay bowls, putting a few of them back to have enough for the squad. I was in such a hurry I took too many bowls. Oh well, better than not having enough... and better than forgetting the silverware. After removing the bowls, a serving spoon, and taking spices out of a side pocket, Teo's bag was all empty except for a very large and thin sheet. Had he only brought food and a sheet?
"Hey uh... Leo? Do you have a few extra forks or spoons? I didn't pack any except the serving spoon, and I don't think anyone's going to want to eat mash with their hands."
(WILL BE UNAVAILABLE for at minimum 4 days, see 8. Either way, I'll be happily trailing along in the back, or serving the mash and quietly getting to sleep or standing watch... or whatever.)

Drurziek could hear Teo call for dinner from outside the tent; however, Drurziek had his own plans for a meal. He reached in his backpack for a dry-freezed meal and a water bottle. After pouring about a third of the bottle in the package, he feasted on the rice dinner that the package held - he brought a box of plastic spoons that were sufficient for the food that he brought - and the rest of the water from the bottle.
Drurziek brought enough food to feed the group for a week; for himself, it could probably last two and a half to three weeks. The compact packages allowed him to carry a lot of food. He knew that this would be way more food than he - or the rest of the group, for that matter - should need, especially with the route that he had picked out.
And so Drurziek continued to sit alone in his tent; again, this didn't bother the blue Yoshi. He didn't even go outside his tent to converse with his teammates. If all went well, he'd be a comrade to them for only three days, and probably never see them again. He just needed the other four members as different sets of eyes and a crap-shoot chance that they'd have experience against whatever they'd encounter that Drurziek didn't know how to deal with.

Yoshiken noticed a fire and a very late dinner being served, so he quit his concentration on the stars, and gathered some supplies such as a small bowl and a spoon that he always carries with him in a small bag, hanging close to his sheathe. He gathered some of the mash, and gulped it down pretty quickly. Yoshiken had not had any food for quite a while, and so this dinner greatly brought fulfillment.
Yoshiken put his bowl and spoon back into his supply bag, "That was delicious, and I greatly needed it."
The food and the campfire gave Yoshiken more energy than he had before, which meant that he no longer had any desire to rest. Yoshiken just sat by the fire, relaxing the night away.

OOC: I hope this is allowed. I had to take some alternate route with my character to get him in here. This seems like the only way.
IC: About time a group of people came walking along here to camp. It's a shame I can't see the looks on their faces when they find out someone took a large chunk of their supplies. Nathaniel thought, as he crept closer to the camp. That campfire wasn't going to do him any good. Sword in hand, he snuck into one of the tents. It was empty of people, but things had been left in the tent, including a lantern and other packed things. He took one of the packs, and dumped out all of the contents. Rope, an empty water cantine, a set of pocket knives, each with a different purpose, and a familiar looking decorated knife, with a crumpled up letter next to it. He picked up the letter, and read.
Morgan, This knife I sent you must be kept away from the assassin Nathaniel. Sell the knife to the first person you see. You wouldn't understand if I told you the reason he's after it. If a human wearing assassin clothing comes to your store and asks about the knife, tell him that you don't know what he's talking about. -Adrian Ligura
Nathaniel tossed the letter away, and picked up the knife. He realized that this was what he had been looking for all along. And here, it was finally his. He began to get up, in all his satisfaction not noticing the lantern, until he knocked it off the hook, and shattered on the floor. Now everybody knew he was here. At least this was his chance to kill the person who used to own the knife, whoever it was.

(OOC: A bit eccentric, but I suppose we can live with it.)
I had been thoughtfully shoveling mash into my mouth when I saw the strange figure sneak into a tent. Since I had not really cared for the food and was paying more attention to the things around me than the food, I supposed I was the only one who saw him. I quietly put down my food and calmly walked around to the side of the tent, where I could see the figure digging something out of one of the backpacks by the light of a lantern. I held my breath instead of sighing and tried to motion to one of the others to come over. But before I could wave, the lantern crashed and the figure ran out. I caught him with my tongue as the person came blundering out, and at least made a good attempt to trip him. I wasn't sure if I stopped him, but it had made a good deal of noise...

Nathaniel had just fallen on a pile of supplies. He scrambled to his feet, with his eyes almost completely adjusted to the dark. He held up his sword like a torch, muttering, "eclion.". The sword lit up like a bright light, revealing everything around him. He looked at Yoshee with burning yellow eyes. " You just made the worst mistake in your life." he hissed, advancing on her. " But, I will let you live if you tell me whose tent I came out of." The knife glinted in the magi light. " Just a simple question. You should be glad I'm not asking you something harder."

I raised my eyebrows at him and sized the guy up. I seem to make a lot of those, I commented to myself. His sword was cool, I noticed too. I also noted that the figure was humanoid, wore dark clothes, and seemed to believe she was a simpleton. Typical. I quickly formed a plan. I wasn't entirely sure it would work since I had trouble reading human expressions and reactions, but it was worth a try since the guy obviously didn't have the proper respect for a Yoshi. I blinked at the human and leaned forward a little, taking a step back. "Uh, um. Yoshee no know..." I stammered. I tried glancing over the guy's shoulder for a split second, but I couldn't see what the others were doing.

" Do you think I'm dumb enough to think that you have the brain of a worm? I can see the lie right in your eyes..." And then he was right in front of her, with his sword pointed at her heart. " Don't play dumb with me. Tell me so I won't have to look in your own memories." It wasn't a trick, either. He just had to concentrate a little, and he would know the answer.

One bad move, and there I was again. I hated it when people pointed sharp objects at me. Of course, I had apparently been the one who had underestimated the enemy. The weapon was glowing menacingly in the guy's hand, and I was going to fall against the tent if I backed up any farther. My mind jumped over to his other statement. Search my memories? What was that supposed to mean? I led a very boring life now, at least, and I supposed he couldn't see too far back. And in reality, I had absolutely no idea who had managed to sneak that thing away in their packs this whole time. Everyone else as far as I knew had brought food, a sleeping bag... Why would they need a knife? I grew frustrated at being stuck in another situation like this and I knew my grey eyes were probably blazing. They got flashy when I was angry, I knew from prior experience. The most I could do without throwing myself upon him in fury was utter a low, snake-like hiss. My temper's getting the better of me again, I noticed. Not that I really cared. This guy was annoying me.

Leoshi's attention had remained diverted, until the lantern was shattered. He looked over his shoulder, noticing that something dangerous was happening.
"...oh no." he thought. "I didn't want to have to do this without practicing, but it must be done."
As the confrontation continued, he placed one hand on the side of his head, and the other hand forward, toward the burning-hot frying pan. He closed his eyes, attempting to concentrate, all the while making sure that he was not being watched.
He opened his eyes to see if it worked, but to no avail. Even worse still, it looked like Yoshee was now being threated with a knife. Something had to be done to stop this dangerous invader. He closed his eyes again, trying to concentrate even harder, with his hand nearby the frying pan.
Finally, his concentration paid off. He was ready to make his move. He rushed into the scene, still holding the pose with his hand outward and other hand at his head. Hovering a couple feet in the air, in front of his arm, was the frying pan, still burning hot from the fire, smoking, with the bottom of the pan still bright red.
Leo had no idea how this would turn out, never having showed the group this ability before. His attention focused on the mysterious attacker, and he attempted to focus his voice, in spite still sounding a bit quiet in tone.
He took a deep breath, then asked; "What's going on here?"

Drurziek was about to fall asleep when he heard a strange raucity outside his tent. Curious and annoyed with the disturbance, he grabbed his sword as he exited his small domain.
As it turned out, some unidentifiable but definitely intruding being threatened Yoshee with a knife from near Leoshi's tent. Luckily, from the positioning of both tents, Drurziek could approach the invader from behind. He took one swing with the sword; that swing was at the intruder's sword; this jarred the intruder's sword free from his hand. As the intruder's sword fell to the ground, its light illuminated the ground and the tents, but no living beings other than Drurziek, faintly, and the invader, even more faintly.
After jarring the sword loose, Drurziek held his own sword pointing at the back of the invader's head, merely two inches from a potential contact point. Noticing the particular type of clothing the invader wore, Drurziek knew his profession, and this angered him more. "You get out of here or I guarantee the last death you'll witness will be your own!" he warned the man at his sword-point.

" So you think you have me. We'll see." The dagger was changing shape, lenghening, becoming an almost-exact replica of his sword. Nathaniel turned around, facing Drurziek's sword pointed at his face. " Maybe we can settle this in words. I will let you all live, if you all come with me to the Stardust Gate." The sword went pitch black, and its edges were blazing light. " Either that, or you die."

Leoshi was still amazed at what was going on. By the looks of things, he just realized that his tent had been invaded. He was just lucky that he wasn't inside at the time. This person looked really dangerous.
But maybe, since he was outnumbered, they could somehow stop this person. Still holding the pose, he moved the boiling hot pan closer to the attacker. But for this to work, he had to try his hardest to defend.
"I'm not going anywhere until I get an answer." he said, sounding a bit nervous in his voice. "I'll repeat, what in the world is going on?"

This time, he heard Leoshi speaking." I just came for this sword." He said, grinning under his helmet mask at the fact that the light blue yoshi sounded nervous." Afraid? You are already nervous, and you expect to get to the Stardust Gate?" He put his hand on Drurziek's sword, lowering it, still staring at Leoshi.
