"Hmm, I think it was the left path, but it could be the right one. I'm not sure, but I think the left path leads to her house." I mused out loud.

Red scratched his head. "Well. We need to find a town unless your friend could restock us on everything. I believe we would still need a town anyway. As much as I like solitary, I really don't think we should split up... Who knows what kinds of demons lay down the wrong trail?" red half thought out loud. After a few minutes of thinking, red proposed an idea. "Maybe we could walk a little ways down each path, and see if theres a light at the end of the tunnel?"

I didn't like Red's idea. What if we turned back before we could find something and ended up going down the wrong path anyways? "I say we choose a path and stick with it," I argued, crossing my arms in front of my chest. "Either we go down the right path and be happy, or we go down the wrong one and deal with it."

Red thought, then nodded. "Together we should be able to overcome anything with intelligence if we aren't strong enough physically. We should hurry and pick a path though, we won't be able to see in an hour or so. And we are also going to need to stay somewhere for the night. I wouldn't like to camp here in the middle of these 'demon woods.'" He stood in front of the path that branched to the right right.

"I'm going to go with my gut feeling on this and say the left path." I mused out loud. "I just have this feelingabout it."

Red looked up. "I'll go any which path." he scribbled in the ground with the edge of his worn katana.

"Left is right," I agreed with Mecha, and proceeded to march down the left fork. I didn't look back to check if the others were coming- I knew well enough that they'd follow.

Red started along, staying at the tail end of the group, hoping this path was in fact right. The trees never seemed to end, and he had a strange feeling that their group was being followed.

I had the strangest feeling we were being followed as I walked between Yoshee and Red, so I looked over my shoulder to see what, if anything, was following us, and I saw a flash of movement. "There seems to be something behind us." I whispered to Yoshee and Red. "I think we should set up a trap for what ever it is, but without letting whatever it is know that we know about it. What do you think?"

"How can we set a trap for it if it's watching us?" I whispered back. "And what's watching us, anyways?" I started throwing together a plan while Mecha and Red thought that over.

"We don't know whats watching us," replied red in a shushed whisper. Red felt a strange feeling inside of him, like another presence. "Don't stop..don't look at each other..it will think we are planning something.." Red's heart sped, he started feeling dizzy.

I wondered if the others could see gears turning in my head. I sure felt like it- trying to invent something that quickly made my head hurt. What if we want it to know we know it's there? I thought to myself. I kept my head up and my eyes forward, but I couldn't help folding my arms as I mulled it over. If it figures we already know it's there, then it'll come out and we can run if it doesn't look good, I thought to myself. I peeked at Red out of the corner of my eye. "I think we should try to get it out of hiding. And the quickest, surest way to do that is tell it you know it's there." I really, really wanted to go ahead without Red's okay, but I managed to hold myself back with mere restless twitches. Better than I usually do, I noted.

"You know, that's not a bad idea." I whispered agreeably to Yoshee. "We should at least find out what we're up against. Then, we can formulate a plan."

Red nodded. "Maybe that would be a good idea. We're not sure if its friendly yet." Red stopped on the trail, spun around, and sat down cross legged. "I'm not moving anywhere until you show yourself." He spoke in a normal tone. He kept calm with alert eyes waiting for an attack of some sort. The feeling inside of him was growing, he trembled with slight fear.

I remained standing, with my back to Red. No reason to let our guards down yet. I was glad this had been my idea, sort of- better than being the mindless minion in the back all the time. I barely suppressed my grin of satisfaction.

I waited as well. I could feel the tension in the air, and I knew whatever it was was going to leap out any second. "I hope that whatever it is attacks soon." I muttered out loud to Red and Yoshee.

Red waited with his head down, trying to get a grip over himself. All of the sudden, a demon alighted from the dense, forest-like sky above. Red quickly jumped in fear, slowly moving back, drawing his katana. His legs felt like lead. "G-guys.." he whispered as he took another step back. The presence inside of him was brimming like mad, his heart quickly pounded in his chest.

Renard didn't have to look up to know that a demon had just appeared. This place was very familiar. After all, it was the road to his old hometown, pretty soon to be his home again. There was no need to fight a demon, anyway. People who ran away had a better chance of surviving than people who fought. It was an easy decision for him to flee, and he was glad that he wasn't noticed by the time they were well out of sight. The end of the forest was right ahead. And so is the end that I have to look like this. All he had to do was concentrate on a certain appearance... It felt like a bolt of lightning going right through him, and it brought him to his knees. It was easy to forget the pain of changing your appearance, your personality, your voice, everything. It was easy to gorget because the pain went away instantly, and all that remained was a lifeless copy of what he used to look like. He now had a dark olive skin color, and was taller, older, and stronger than before. His face had changed too, and he had orange-red spines instead of hair. This was his appearance as Isaac Calhoun. It felt more comfortable to wear a light tan shirt, gray leather pants, and a cloak made of bright red feathers than that tight high-tec suit his dead copy was wearing in his place. The sunset still shone on the fields surrounding the town that had grown greatly since he was there a few months ago. He wasn't surprised when the guards had seen him walking towards the gates and began shouting that he was back.
The dining hall was filled with people. Isaac sat next to his best friend, Avery, explaining some of his travels to him and the people sitting around him. " Well, my search for the three mentioned in that prophecy was a complete failure. I remember the person who told me the prophecy said that the three were likely living on a well known island, but it sank before I could find them." " So who were those three mentioned in that prophecy?" Avery asked. " It isn't just three. The magikoopa told me it was at least three. One who is red as blood, one who is half-mechanical, and one who can breathe fire. The rest he isn't sure about. If you ask me, I wouldn't want to be a part of a prophecy like that. Fighting to save the world will end up with at least one of those Chosen Ones dead." " Lord Calhoun, how have you gone to so many places and not be noticed? Your appearance is known by a lot more people than you think." " Disguises work much better than you think, if the disguise is a good one and if you use it well. That's what I did."

I frowned as Renard fled at the first sign of danger. Of course he was just a showoff. Idiot. We should have let him drown.
But I had more pressing matters to attend to than dragging him back. Like keeping the other two alive. The demon was certaintly... Shocking in appearance. My heart was pounding in my chest, but I tried not to let my surprise show. As Red stepped back, I stepped in front of the two other Yoshis. It looks like Red could use some time to pull himself together, I thought.

I grinned malevolently to myself. This Demon looked strong, but I figured we could take him down, but to make sure, I analyzed him. Hmm, he's stronger than I thought. I thought to myself. It would take all three of us working as a team to beat him, but I figured we could beat him.
"Attack!" I shouted as I rushed to attack the demon.
