The Legend of Zelda series has a nice varied style, so I'll vote that.

I haven't heard a lot, but from playing SSBM... I would say Donkey Kong. DK! Donkey Kong! He's the leader of the bunch, you know him well. He's finally back, to kick some tail!He can pick up a boulder, with relative ease. Make's crushing rocks seem like a breeze. He's big, he's strong, he can jump high... ect.Yay~

The fact that you remember those lyrics Gem, is quite special in it's very own way.
It's hard to say, what Nintendo music was better than the others. There were so many buckets of Nintendo songs, that it is hard to widdle down to one major source. All of the classics are stuffed with beautiful markings of harmony. Even with those "meager" machines, artists were able to create some of the most satisfying and catching songs around. Some of them, even made their way into society. Of course, maybe not the most popular section of society. Yet, bet you could go around your local neighborhood, hum the Mario theme, and expect wide acknowledgement of the game. That is one song, that children to seniors seem to recognize. Oddly enough. It's odd really, to think of it in that measure. Games, like Pac-Man (One of the most classic of all time) had certain theme songs. Yet, even if they are heard; they are rarely, if ever noticed. However, if you happen to play a Nintendo song, people will usually perk their ears. Then again, Nintendo is the most family connected console on the market, and has been since it's first release.
Zelda, would have to be one of the most magnificent illustrations of musical embrace. That game has always been popular. Since the first Zelda, to the most recent; people have remained fans to the building title. It's hard to find someone who finds horrible disdain in the series. Sure, there are few who have yet to play any. Those few, are what many would label as the outcast. Living life without Zelda, is like living life without Oxegyn. Sure, it's not the greatest game in the entire world (In some opinions), but it still remains the cream of the crop. Why? There are many reasons. From, gameplay right down to the musical score. Yet, the musical score seems to be where most of the "flub-bub" is at. When playing Zelda, you'll automatically get the main theme stuck in your head. That, and the constant need to play songs will eventually work it's way into your brain. Since majority of the game works around the control and figment of instruments, you often find yourself getting lost in the tunes. These "magical" melodies are beautiful to the mind, eloquent in that sense. You can't help but stand on your toes, and wish you were in that place. Full of ambience and soft whisps of air. It seems beautiful, from the sound alone.
Mario, of course, could never be forgotten. The main reason we adore it's music, is because it was the first game many of us played. The songs are sweet, fun, and whimsical. They also know how to adapt to atmosphere. It's creepy at times once you enter Bowsers Castle. As you go outside, into the open, the tune becomes drastically lighter. Now, many of us represent the Mario music with "bit" like engines. Not to bright on that section, yet many of the YCers likely know. The music in games, for those days, was very hard to illustrate. Not, "hard" in how to create, but "hard" in catching full melodies. It was very choppy; very misconstrued. Oddly enough though, Mario made this type of music sound beautiful to the body. The little "ding" as you caught Golden coins, right down to the bubble noises of lava in Bowsers Castle. Every little piece was perfect, not out of place; not in any wrong formation.
Nintendo music, is by far, the most highly respected. Why? Because it was able to rapture our hearts, at the earliest ages in our lives. They didn't have the greatest techonology, but they took what they could, and made sure we got lost in their games. Oh, those silly, silly Japanese.

I voted simply F-Zero. If there's one theme that always sticks in my head when I'm playing a futuristic racer, it's the BGM for Big Blue, from the SNES days. Don't know why I liked that theme so much, but it definitely became a favourite.

F-Zero ftw!!! xD I Love F-Zero music!! ;D But really only the original F-Zero, my favourite being Mute City, which is my favourite video game song ever, xD I would've normally chosen Mario video Game music, which I like just as much as F-Zero music, but i could only vote for one, and naturally I chose F-Zero, my favourite one being the original Mute City theme, from the F-Zero game for the SNES Console. Here's a link, check it out.
