what if nintendo all of a sudden replaced yoshi with a giant ape i know it will never happen but id scream and run around in circles thats what i would do if yoshi was ever replaced what would you do

I would honestly wonder if Nintendo was trying to fail... I would, of course, be angry with them.
But I'm sure that Yoshi fandom would continue, even if Yoshi were never to appear in another game.

That would be a tremendous blow to Mario "world" history. (And mario could never be replaced as he is nearly Nintendo's second sertice/trade mark. I was just considering all the weird creations and creatures that have come from Nintendo; how they seem to stick around even when they no longer appear in their own games. One example: Princess Daisy. She was in Super Mario Land (a game boy series), but all of a sudden (to me, anyway, as I've never heard of her), appears in Mario Tennis. Ostra too, was kinda lost in Super Mario Bros 2 land, but made a cameo appearance in Super Mario RPG and now appears regularly in Mario sports titles. Okay, I was dragged into this silly argument. You got me.  |

Ostra? You mean Ostro? That is, you mean Birdo (the names were reversed in the Mario Bros. 2 credits)?
It is kinda weird, though. I didn't really know about Daisy before she appeared in Mario Tennis, either.
You know what characters they should make regulars, though? Those from Paper Mario. They spent so much time creating their characters, and by the next game, they're gone. It would certainly be better than using generic characters (Taodette, anyone?)
But I digress. Yoshi is cool. ;D

When I was trying to remember the name, Ostra was the first thing to come to mind (and how old is my mind?). I meant to go back and check, but forgot about it. Thanks for catching that. I didn't finish my previous argument: (I guess it's because I forgot to research this part as well) There were those mini bosses from Super Mario Bros. 2 which we saw in that Mario Bros. cartoon (Mouser, Fry Guy, and (Generic name here:) 3 headed dragon). We haven't seen them back, although they were in a dream world. But wait! This is kinda the cool part — shy guys appear on Yoshi's Island. They're the link between the traditional Mario world and the Dream world (or maybe Mario remembers them from when he was on Yoshi's Island as a babe). |

I think the other bosses were ClawGlip (the crab thing) and Tryclyde, which was the hydra-esqe thing.

Of course, SMB2 was a very strange case: it was actually a completely different game at first, and was turned into a Mario game and brought to america (there was a different SMB2 in Japan.) (more info: www.classicgaming.com/tmk/smb2_madness.shtmlSo it's kind of understandable why we might not see a lot of the enemies/concepts from this game ever again, right? The weird part, though, is just how much from SMB2 was intergated later into the Mario universe... Shy guys, of course, and sniffits, Ninijs (though not much), Birdo, of course, Bob-ombs, Pokeys (the cactus), those sparks that move around platforms... it's very curious. And, though it's a bit more deteched, the egg-thieving mice from Yoshi's Island were called "Little Mousers," and were re-dubbed "Nomadimice" in Paper Mario. So, in conclusion, I don't think I had a point that I was trying to make.  |

they CANT replace Yoshi. Yoshi is such a classic character, Mario would be dumb without a big green dinosaur with a long tongue that eats fruit and lets humans ride on its saddle!

If Nintendo ever were to replace Yoshi, I will strive on to find a way to get him back. All my fan fic writing is dedicated to that green Yoshi you know. Writing has power! Oh and you know what else, if they were to replace Yoshi, then they might as well kill Mario and Luigi, oh and Bowser would be married to Princess Peach. Oh, and Toadsworth would not be of any royal assistance. Oh and Daisy can go golfing with Plum as if Peach didn't exist. Princess Plum and Daisy would be the heroes of Plit. Baby Bowser Jr. would be adopted by the Toads. Toadette and Toad would might as well live happily ever after. Petey Pirhana might as well, burp out the entire lighthouse, and the Mario series might as well just cease to exist. If Yoshi falls apart, everything else falls apart.  |
