I'm just about thru posting my artwork on the Yc. Cause of certains fans of only one artist. Not saying names.. Anyway this artist even told you guys to cut it out. but no XD You art work is godly and omg omg omg omg!!! *hug hug hug* Well you know that feels when all you get is good job and a pat on the back =(. So If wish to my arts go to the Da. I'm feed up with being overshadow here. Screw you and No more art here From this Yoshi. I ain't the only yoshi who doesn't wish to post art here no more. And this artist praise keeps up I may punish the Yc and lock the art gallery up. Good day =).

It's very unfortunate to hear that, Tim. Just to let you know, I'm not one of those people who like just that one artist that you mentioned (I'm pretty sure it's obvious who you're talking about by now). I do look at everyone's art, but I don't really know what to say to help people out, since I'm a bad critic and a very mediocre artist.

I know how you feel.But I luv everybodys art and I try to give the perfect comment to people when all I get is a great job because I don't have a gallery or amazing art skills.I don't want you to close the art section but if you desperetly need to go ahead.At lease I can see art in peoples avatars.XDI just never go on DA so I'll proboly never see your art.

I'm new here so I haven't had much of a chance to praise anybody's art, but I an assure you I will not be one of these people. I like to look at everyones art and I don't pick one person above everyone else. I also know how you feel when I was younger I always got 'good job' while other people got recognized praised more.

I am the same way, that's pretty much why I never reply in the art section is because I suck at critiques and I'm afraid if I say something that might help them critique, I'm afraid they'll take it the wrong way. To all: If you post pics in the art galleries of this board, ask yourself a few questions: Do you post your pics because you are interested in receiving detailed opinions that will help you improve your art skills, and/or are you interested in finding out if your art is communicating what you intend it to?

Or are you just posting pics there cause you rely heavily on external validation and can't tell on your own if your art sucks or not, and are not really interested in trying to improve?

Or are you just looking for emotional support by hoping to receive positive comments that will elevate your currently low self-esteem and thus help you feel better about yourself?

Or perhaps you have a different reason for posting art? (try to figure out what it is)

On a side note, I think we should create some guidelines for the art sections about how to review the art pics there. I'm tired of the vast amount of childish "omgogmogmgo i lurve it its awesome hug hug" comments that are given. Why not give a "I love it because of this and that" comment, instead of a "omg its awesome" comment? Which comment do you prefer? Your answer may help determine what kind of art poster you are.

There was a thread making some of those points that was once in the bulletin board, but it was lost while being shifted to the Art Forum. Most unfortunate.

I'm for that idea. The admins and moderators of that forum should probably get together and hammer out acceptable guidlines.
