...And not to mention it would cost even more for the host, as well as the fact that it could get expensive if a lot of people come.

if you didnt already know i am a very optimistic individual ^_^, the money can be achieved with my "idea" even for an amount that high.
but like i said, my idea will take a lot of time to accomplish but it IS possible. I dont want to create any debates with the public about my idea till i get all the bugs worked out which is why i am asking people to PM me if they want to know the details so that i can explain it person-by-person
I have witnessed this idea work for another MB so i think that we could do the same!

It is something that'd work out great. Again, as Contention has already stated, the age group thing remains. If me and Toshi were to get abroad somehow, it'd cost a lot of money. At least 350 - 600 UK pound. It's a lot of saving, a lot of 'board-dodging' and getting hands on a passport.
I would do it. I've never been abroad before, so it'd be an experience. Considering I've never been on a plane and all...
It'd be strange. Talking to other Yoshi fans, without sitting in front of a PC. The one little hinderance I have though, is, where would we all stay? Different hotels maybe? Depending on how many of us turn up, Someone would need to accomodate for us, or, if there's no one living around the area, more than one hotel room, and having more than one room could put a hefty dent in the 'souvenier' allowance.

Maybe you all misunderstood me! I meant people in the surrounding area of my home (Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ontario and right here in Wisconsin) and then others who have good accommodation for large amounts of people nearby their home could have everyone in their surrounding area come to them. So all west-coast go to a central location, all the southerns find a central location, all Canadians find a central location, all east-coast find a central location all Midwest and all northerns find central locations. So rather than a single gigantic convention there would be about seven to ten smaller conventions. All the people abroad…it is tougher for you, I can’t say how to help you. But like for my thing, you could convince your parents to come here as a vacation and go to local attractions, but also have other YC’ers here that you could meet up with and hang out with! And in a few years when we are all older we should stay in contact, with or without the YC and we will be able to drive and will be more independent and a convention would work better. With some saving, planning and careful thinking there is no reason why groups of us could meet, not all of us at once. But several of us at different times at different places!
How many YC’ers are there anyways? Do we have a count of how many there are that still post here?
Well we can still make it work! We just have to plan right!

E3 is some big gaming convention where they show new games and prototypes for new gaming system and accesories and stuff. (I think; I've never been to one before... )

If I ever went for a YC convention, I'd probably wear my New York map shirt; you don't know how many conversations my parents and I have had with strangers when I've worn that shirt in public on vacations and stuff...

I'd probably have messy hair...I never comb it. I always never comb mine either... And my dad gets on my case when I don't comb it. I think I need another haircut... It's getting a little too long...

What's E3? My parents would never let me go, even though they say I have to see more of the world E3 is a yearly games press conference. This is where the press goes to try out the newest games, see whats coming up in the future and get their hands on shedloads of press packs. It's a games fan's dream to get into E3, however, only those in the industry can get in, that, along with a lot of money. The money thing is stopping me. I'm still badgering around the Games journalism areas to learn how it's all done, plus I'm looking for IGDA membership (IGDA = International Game Developers Association), so I'm 'kinda' in the industry. I can't think of anything to contribute further to the topic. Please continue.

Yes. Money is the most puzzling and hardest hurdle to overcome for this dream to come true. Unless we've got a super stinking rich member here to fund our little gatthering.

Like I said, a nice, cheap way would be for the various members to meet in video game conventions or tournaments in their area. I'm TRYING to find a PA videogame tournament that everyone knows how they could get to it...
