Nintendo makes changes to almost all of their characters, be they slight changesw or extreme ones. And it's true that Yoshi in particular has changed a lot over the years...
I dunno. These things happen, I guess.

yea it was the one with the extremely out of propersioned nose on super nintendo and then it became my favorite one on nintendo 64's yoshis story and then the 3d'd graphiced one which looked kinda weird but then they made another 3d'd one on gamecube which improved a lot

I have no idea why Nintendo would change Yoshi so drastically like that. I remember I loved Yoshi's Island's image of Yoshi; then, they went all strange with Yoshi's Story (I kind of missed out playing that game), having a larger than life nose, stunted back and tail, and a somewhat Koopa-like shell. After that, Yoshi went inbetween the two styles with the Mario Party's and those Mario sport games (for example, Tennis and Golf). I liked those styles a lot, too, but I just think Yoshi's Island's has to be my favorite.

My favorite Yoshi design was the one in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. I hated the Yoshi design in Yoshi's Story, which looked like that of a Koopa kid's, in my opinion.

I don't mind the changes in Yoshi. However, I do dislike the fact that they stopped Yoshi from talking and decided to give him a more realistic dinosaur personality. Hopefully, this will change in the future, because Nintendo will keep altering all their Nintendo characters until they tickled their fancy. Either way, our most memorable characters will remain, and no matter what the changes and altering they have made, Yoshi and his friends will still be themselves. Doesn't that bring more relief to you?

Doesn't that bring more relief to you? Unless Nintendo changes Yoshi into this huge, violent, evil dinosaur. *lol* I doubt that'll happen, though.

Koopa Troopas have changed quite a bit as well. Remember when they used to walk on four legs? Before they could come out of their shells (and presumably didn't wear boxer shorts)? I also feel kinda sorry for Bowser. What's his family life like? He's had 7 kids in the past (with no wife to speak of—assexual reproduction? Like Yoshi with his eggs?) Then, they kinda dissapear and we get these/this generic kid(s).
Oh for stability!

He's had 7 kids in the past (with no wife to speak of—assexual reproduction? Like Yoshi with his eggs?) Male Yoshis produce eggs, but are not sexual eggs. They do not produce Yoshi children. Female eggs, however, do produce Yoshis. That's why you see Yoshi chucking eggs like he doesn't give a flying funge back in Yoshi's Island. Nothing are in them, and he wouldn't especially do so if he knew there were Yoshi fetuses growing inside them. Or else that would make Yoshi pro-choice, and therefore, most likely, not even male. Makes you think, huh?

Also, we call them "eggs" because that's what they look like, but that might be all. They might just be an egg-like encasing; who's to say for sure.
Additionally, I once heard a pretty good theory behind the Koopa Kids' presence, made by someone who goes by Roy Koopa. Essentially, the stork organization is annoyed by Bowser's actions in "Yoshi's Island", and so comes up with a plan to get back at him. They deliver to him 7 of the most evil, wicked, bratty children that they can get. Unfortunately, the storks' plan didn't work, as Bowser likes the kids' evil qualities, and takes a liking to them.

Okay, okay. You all got me. I do wonder about the seven Koopa kids. What do they do? Where do they live? *Sigh* I did like the change of Yoshi from Super Mario World to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. His nose got much more rounded than his first appearance.
