And neither do stupid overused dragons. Very brave of you to say that! Agreed, took guts to say that. I don't mind really, 'Stupid Dragon' has been used in my school plenty of times.

Neither does a 'coon, but I think your avatar matters less than the interests you have, which as long as involve Yoshi, matter most. <3 QFT. I'm a wolf, not a yoshi. That sure doesn't seem to fit, but I like my originality. My character is very important to me, and I will never abandon him, not even to fit in.

It's just a yoshi fan board, don't have to be a yoshi to be a yoshi fan eh?

In the essence of what is originality, it could go out to be many things on that matter of sense. But as mentioned, there is a large factor which seems that many people at a Yoshi board are that which flows for a Yoshi. Of course, this would likely be habitual merely because the subject behind it's creation is of course the creature itself. In such, those that arrive likely have some adoration to what is out and about. Therefore, they fall into the scenario of wanting to be a Yoshi, highly because it seems that the majority fall into this scenario. All the while though, there are those out there which really open doors into things and make statements that make some sense; bringing forth a new style which outtakes that of the older one. Change is always something of itself, best in every way; it can be negative or positive, depending upon it's position and in which it takes place. As said, there are those who follow the lines of Raccoons, Cats, Wolves, and Dragons. But, as mentioned, Dragons are an overused area that seem to spread more and more each day. For inside, it seems that many have an attraction toward the creature for it's fierce power and strengths. They are known for that of their nobility, the royal ties that were embellished in the past from so many cultures. It seems that no matter the area, they were a species that gave off the sensation of something large, hefty, important to all that heard the name and saw their appearance.
To us, these meanings still exist; merely because they have an archetype presence of themselves. They are widely known, and because of that, they take place all around you. Therefore, the sense of their objective has been lost because everyone has pounded upon it. It's like trying to fit into a crowd, something that shouldn't be done; in such, they have become an average part of going into any civillization. Thus, it's something that can hardly be avoided; people do it because they want to fit in with everyone else. By reality though, the only thing that matters is being who you are. Making something original and forming it around what you feel is right and wrong. The best characters are those which self-reflect upon yourself and give you something to work with. That way, you can give your character the attributes you wish to have; it seems that way with many. Most "characters" are given ideals that focus on what the user would adore to cherish in the life around them. While odd, there is always something out there that so many wish to gain, and shall find ways in their imagination to please. From Graedius, to Ruru, to Gar, to so many others; everybody forms their "alternate bodies" on aspects of what they are as well as who they would like to be in the end.
Originality comes from within, it's an odd find these days anymore with everyone dressing up as figures that form around them. Dragons are an abused spirit, of course if it's something someone had before the craze then keep it. There are those who are true to the soul of what it is, then there are others who do it because they just want to; it has nothing to contain upon the matter of it means anything to them. Everyone has intrest, and everyone sees things diffrently; it's from that we gained our imagined friends in childhood, by essence these creatures are the same things, merely not in the lights they were at once. They are who you are, imaged off of faults and placed in attributes to achieve not to fall.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said... >.> I just said that it didn't matter what you were, you could be anything -- and you'll still be appropriate here, so long as you still like Yoshi. My avatar's not a Yoshi -- wouldn't I just be detrimenting myself if I said what you assumed I did? And Yoshi is indeed a copyright that can be used for non-profit unprofessional purposes under the Free Use Act, so it's not like Nintendo will go 'Zomg, sue them" for using one as your avatar.

Many good points were simplified into short statements here. I couldn't help but agree with each and every one. For example, Cayoshi-san wears a scarf around her waist, representing the scar I had around that area after a surgical procedure as a child. She wears gause around her arm, signifying my fake patch of skin obtained through another childhood injury, and a heart necklace, identical to my own that I have never once removed. Cayoshi shares my same yellow eyes, often frightening some. Her snow white skin represents my favorite season, Winter, and my longing to see snow, which I cannot ever have the privelage of seeing where I'm currently located. Every part of Cayoshi has reasoning behind it. Nothing isn't there for a reason.
Edit: I forgot to mention: her rabbit-face mask covers her face, as I've always cherished and adored rabbits. Not to mention, I'm pretty into Operas, and I simply adore masks. People often question my yellow eyes, and I find it rather annoying. The mask shields them so I won't constantly be pestered about them.[/size]

Post by Digi on Jul 12, 2006 22:58:40 GMT -5
Heh, my thought process was pretty weird then. Lawl. Back when I first joined Deviantart, I didn't have a yoshi character, because I couldn't decide on what to do and was questioning my yoshi style. So I began with my Sonic/Anthro characters and weird MSPaint drawings. Technically, my first 'yoshi' character was Noel my Koopa/yoshi hybrid(which I really should draw again XD), but she's wasn't gonna be my main character. Anyway, Tempest, well Nightcroshi at the time(Good times...), wanted to do an art trade, but I didn't have a character. Here comes the creation to Digi! Oh noes! D: Actually, the design of Digi was a complete and total accident. I didn't want to make Tempy wait long or want to draw another picture. So, I used an old picture of a mage yoshi, that was never really gonna see the light. Anyway, about her color, I wanted something that had to represent 'digital' without being black with green 3-d lines. <_< Grey would do, because it was plain and easy. LEVEL UP ! ! Her eyes are two colors because I couldn't decide between blue and purple. So let's have both! And her eyes constantly switch colors, due to laziness. XD Jester-ness came from...no where really. But I love oversized jester hats and clothing designs, so it stuck. XD Her outfits are random sparks in inspiration in my mind. LEVEL UP ! ! Her spikes were just my weird way of drawing yoshi hair without it actually being hair. LEVEL UP ! ! And it was blue and purple just because I wanted to keep the blue/grey/purple theme in my first picture of her. I couldn't pick a certain shade of blue or purple so I kept it many shades of the colors. LEVEL UP ! ! Though in more recent pictures, she has normal three spikes that are seperate shades of cyan with small tints of purple. Her name? Came from no where. It was originally Paige when she was just a sketch never to be used, but I didn't want that to be an alias so I used my dA name with Yoshi as her last name because I couldn't think of any good names. It's also relatively close to my real life nickname. Her story and powers were pretty much nothing. Her story's just for RPG's and stuff. I used water because I loved the idea of using water for attacks and stuff. Causing a lot of questions about "Digi = water?! OMGWTFBBQ?! Lololol!" Originality, I say! <_<;; Anyway, her hammer came from an old game I used to play with my brother and his friends, when we were assigned elements(vaguely based on Pokemon) and I was steel and my weapon was a mallet. LEVEL UP ! ! So I passed it unto Digi. Digi's much who I am and wish to be in yoshi form. LEVEL UP ! ! She's my real personality that I can't express in the real world. Her abilities were an add-on that I used in that summer RPG and other role plays. >.> There was also a camping chatroom, but that was just for fun. LEVEL UP ! ! Then Tempy invited me here. Dang, I've really changed from back then. This topic brought back a lot of memories.

...On that Forum I met a Boy with the username ''Yoshu'' I really liked his Yoshi characters, so we did art trades and requests and after a while I remembered my old Yoshi character Yesha... So actually Yoshu was the one who inspired me to bring Yesha back...so thanks Yoshu n__n yeah...that's how Yesha came XD Hah! Well, where would Yoshu be without Yesh... In fact, Where would Lexer be without Rosanda? Heh. Anyway... Yoshu came to be in sorta the way Yesha did... After joining Lemmy's Land, I found siomething on the site called a Drawing Board, where you get to pretend to make Video games. Mine was called Super Koopalings: Shell Shocked, where you played as the seven koopalings, and the first stage was an island filled with Yoshi-Troopa's (A yoshi in a koopa troopa shell.) One of the side-quests for that stage was you needed to reunite Yoshu, a yoshi troopa with his best friend, Birdon, a birdo-troopa. After a while I decided I wanted a yoshi fancharacter, and I thought, 'Why make a new one, I got Yoshu.' I brought him back, as a blue yoshi, who looked exactly the same as before, but minus the koopa shell. He had rainbow hair like Iggy and lemmy... Eventually, I gave him a lighter blue belly, then angel wings. After a while, I got bored of his design, so I got rid of the wings, gave him red Rayman-esque hair and different shoes. (His old shoes were red.) This design lasted a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time. After that, I gave him rainbow hair again, but it was worn down, with large red bangs. I gave him green shoes, and replaced his saddle with a belt... But... He looked cool, but he wasn't Yoshu... So that design lasted for about ten seconds. His current design is much like his forst, but with a scarf, no saddle and green shoes. Also, his hair isn't rainbow, but Yellow-Orange-Red in a row of messy, brushed forward spikes... So dere ya go.
