"Hey, what the heck?" Yoshee asked.

"What's up?" Lava asked.

"Check it out!" she stated, pointing to a fallen bandit.

"...what?" Enrique asked. he approached the fallen one. "What happened to you?"

"I... pocket... this girl." there was a deep breath or two in his pauses.

"Who did this?" Yapi asked.

"Some Yoshi... claws... green... heartless."

The group exchanged glances. "Moshi." they all said in unison.

"Figures." John said. He began to walk away from the group.

"Where you going?" Lava asked.

"To find her before she kills someone." he said before spriting behind a corridor.

Yoshee frowned. "I thought we'd finally get a break."

<Shouldn't we try to find Moshi too?> Champ added in.

"Best if we do." Enrique said. "Let's try to split up, into pairs of two."

"Do we count as a pair?" Yoshee asked, nodding toward Champ.

"...sure." Enrique said. "I'm going to check the west. Anyone want to come?"

"I'll go." Lava said. "I need to get some adventure in my day."

They both began to walk away.

"In that case, I'll be heading to the east with Champ." Yoshee said before walking out.

"I'll head north." Yoshifrog said.

"Count me in." Yapi said.

They both walked toward each other.

That left Leoshi alone. He sighed before walking off toward the docks, alone.

As he proceeded toward the docks, he went unaware of the fact that a set of eyes where following him from above.

The dark, evil figure that had arrived before was watching him.

"Do what you will. It s only a matter of time before that book is in my possession." he thought before vanishing into the skies.

Leoshi arrived at the docks quietly. He noticed that no one else had come to the docks that day.

He sighed and sat at a bench.

"Moshi isn't here. I should have known." he thought. His eyes peered out at the ocean. It was rather silent, accept for the waves and the wind brushing against his hair.

"Sometimes I just wish I wasn't alone all the time. ...oh well, it's not anything new. Though this new team I'm in certainly seems nice enough."

He let the book down on the ground. "But are they really friends. Or are they just like everyone else at the school was. Just a group of people trying to get their hands on this book. ...I have my suspicions, but I need them. I'm too weak to protect it on my own."

All the while, the mysterious stalker was keeping an eye on him from the shadows. The robed one's red eyes gleamed in the dark area from where he watched. Just waiting for the moment to make his move.

Leoshi lifted the book.

"I just have to learn enough abilities to defend myself. Then I can send the rest of the team home. They're better off away from danger, and away from me."

He lifted the book and turned to the page where the third ability was. He tried to sound out the text.

"Tra..."

"snmorphous." a new voice finished.

Leoshi looked up. The dark looking one was right near him.

"What?" Leoshi asked, closing the book and standing up, ready to run.

"Transmorphous." the dark one said, who's voice was remarkable similar to Leoshi's only more sinister. "The third ability of the Book of 3 Millennium."

"How do you know?" Leoshi asked.

"I know much more then you think." the shadowy one said.

He took a step closer to Leoshi. Leoshi gasped. Gripping the book tightly, he began to make a run for it.

From nowhere, the dark figure materialized right in-front of Leoshi.

Leo came a halt. "Why are you doing this?"

"Ask yourself that." the evil one said.

Leo raised an eyebrow.

The dark figure removed his hood slowly.

Leoshi gasped.

Right there was a face starring back at him. An evil face. An identical face. Though this Yoshi's blue color was a bit darker, the face was the same as Leo's. The hair was also the same, only pale white. He had no glasses, but red eyes. The sinister expression on his face was frightening.

"Who are you?" Leo asked, dropping the book.

"I am you. Your darker side." the evil one said.

"...what?" Leoshi asked.

Suddenly, he gasped. "You where the one I was talking to when the school was burning!"

"Indeed." Dark Leoshi responded. "Here we are again. A confrontation."

"I don't want anything to do with you!" Leoshi said, picking up the book. "You will never have it!"

"You fool..." Dark Leoshi said. "I don't want the book for myself! That's why I gave it to you!"

Leoshi gasped. "Then the shadow that was following me on the first day. That thing that left the book on the roof-"

"Was me... or you. We aren't that different, you know." Dark Leoshi said.

"We are nothing alike!" Leoshi said. "You are evil!"

"Think about it." Dark Leoshi said.

Leoshi sighed. "Am I even the original Leoshi? Or am I his clone? ...I don't understand. Is the true Leoshi good or evil?"

"Then what are your intentions?" Leo asked.

"Aren't you supposed to be the smart one? You figure it out." Dark Leoshi said.

Leoshi knew there and then he Had enough. He opened up the book and shouted.

"Ze-Shidome!"

In the next instant, a glowing bubble of energy was careening directly for the darker version.

The evil cloaked one jumped into the air with an amazing speed. The ball flew right underneath.

Dark Leoshi, now floating in the air, began to hover over Leoshi.

Leoshi looked up and awaited the action of his darker self.

The dark Leoshi laughed and held out his hand. Dark energy began to form around his fists, readying a charged attack.

Leoshi held up the book, ready to protect himself. Nothing would get in the way of his journey, now that he had come so far.

A huge sphere of dark energy was now flying towards Leoshi. He didn't have much time to react.

"Shidome!"

The same bubble appeared again, surrounding himself to protect Leoshi. In the next second, there was a massive explosion as two magic abilities collided.

Teo's eyes slowly opened up to the sound of a boom. He felt a sort of shaking, though it wasn't that strong. He could hear some commotion occurring downstairs.

Teo rubbed his eyes and slowly got up from his bed. He gave a yawn and peered over towards a clock.

"1:30? I must have been real tired after all." he said.

Stepping onto the floor, he proceeded towards a closed window. He gave yet another yawn before opening the blinds.

"Whoa!"

From where the docks where, smoke and dust was visibly rising in a mushroom cloud, as if there had just been an explosion.

"What?" He asked, opening the window and looking outside. "Don't tell me they started without me!"

However,both Enrique and Lava failed to notice because they had gone underground. Their search led them below the depths of the city, into the heart of some ruins.

"So... why'd Moshi be down here?" Lava asked.

"I'm assuming she could be anywhere within the vicinity. Though your guess is as good as mine." Enrique responded. "Let's try to get deeper underground."

Yoshee gasped upon seeing the explosion. Though she was on the opposite side of town, she could hear the boom and see the smoke.

"Uh... maybe we should... check it out?" She asked.

<Uh..." Champ merely trailed off...

"It's probably not safe." She said.

<Yeah.> Champ said.

"Let's try to find Moshi first. Then we can go check it out."

"Hm?" John asked as he saw the explosion from the alleys. "Could that be Moshi?"

He decided he may as well try to find something out. Without second thought, he began to rush towards the explosion.

"Wow, check out the fireworks!" Yoshifrog said in glee as she looked towards the docks.

"Hm..." Yapi said, looking towards the docks. "I don't think those are fireworks. They look more like explosions."

"Huh?" Yoshifrog asked. "What the heck was that then?"

"I'm going to go check it out. Keep a lookout, okay?" Yapi asked.

Yoshifrog nodded. With that response, Yapi jumped and took off into the air.

Yin, who was left in the restaurant looked up from her food as Teo came running down the stairs.

"C'mon, something bad's going on!" Teo shouted.

"Hm?" Yin asked.

"So..." Moshi thought, as she watched the battle from the skies. "This is my chance to see just how powerful the book is."

Leoshi looked back at his darker version. Smoke and dust was all in the air, flying in every direction possible.

"I thought you didn't want to battle me. Why are you fighting me if you don't want the book?" Leoshi asked.

The dark one laughed.

"He has me trapped." Leoshi thought. "From the very start, I've been playing in his hands. I'm his pawn, and I have been all along!" A look of despair appeared on his face.

"Now, now. Are we just figuring out something?" Dark Leoshi taunted.

Leoshi growled and looked up at his evil side. The evil one just looked back with an equally intimidating face.

"How long do you plan to keep this up?" Dark Leoshi said. "This battle is pointless. I can destroy you if I really want you to."

"Then why haven't you?" Leoshi asked. "Why did you even bring me into this?"

"Stop this now. You're making yourself look like a fool." Dark leoshi said.

Leoshi suddenly realized what was happening. First, the evil one gave him the book to riddle him, then put him in danger and hurt him. He was driven from his home and everything. Now he was being toyed with.

"Not anymore!" Leoshi shouted, holding up the book.

Dark Leoshi raised an eyebrow.

Leoshi held up the book and called out:

"Ze-Shidome!"

I don't know what to say anymore, Leo; you are a brilliant storyteller. I enjoy reading this story and I am very impressed in your storytelling skills. You do an excellent job of knowing when to stop at a point to build suspence. Keep it up!

Sorry for the confusion, Yapi. I'm not exactly the brightest in the world. Anyway, without any delay:

"Just as I suspected, that book isn't like anything in this world." Moshi thought.

In the next second following, the sound of an explosion was heard as the magic attack made contact with Dark Leoshi. Moshi shielded herself from the dust that flew from the explosion. She was forced to gain altitude to avoid getting lost in a cloud of dust.

"What the heck's that?" Teo asked.

"I think that was the book. I would recognize that explosion anytime." Yin said. "Come on, we have to go-"

"Excuse me." someone interrupted from behind.

"Listen." Teo said with an aggravated tone. "We don't have time for-"

He froze on the spot. Standing behind them was a familiar face.

"You dare show your face." Yin said. "Despicable."

It was the one they had fought before. Demon was standing right next to them.

"...how'd you get here so fast?" Teo asked.

"You would be surprised just how many people can fly." Demon said.

"As much as I would love to defeat you, we are too busy." Yin said.

Demon interrupted her by holding out a large shuriken. Yin stopped and took a step back.

"You wouldn't be interrupting anything. That's my job." Demon said. "I refuse to attack because this is a mis-match."

"So sure of yourself." Yin responded.

"I can deflect anything you hit me with. I can counter even forces of nature." Demon said. "I'm also faster and I can fly, so you can't run. And with no book to attack with, you have no chance."

Teo hated to admit it, but that statement was true. No escape, no chance at winning.

"I can still take you." Teo said. "I'm not afraid."

"Then you aren't smart either." Demon said, shifted the shuriken to Teo's face. "Try your worst, I can still destroy you."

Teo sighed and closed his eyes.

"Are you listening to me, child? You had best just surrender." Demon repeated himself.

Teo said nothing, but kept his eyes shut. Demon continued to switch the shuriken's blades between Yin and Teo.

"Teo?" Yin asked.

Teo growled and opened his eyes, though there where now glowing yellow.

"Hm..." Demon sighed.

Teo suddenly began to grow to an immense size. His dragon form was emerging. While Demon was distracted, Yin revealed her kunei knives.

"This should be fun." Demon laughed, readying the shuriken.

"I hope I'm not too late." Yapi thought aloud as she found herself over the docks.

"Whoa!" She exclaimed as she saw the battle occurring below.

Leoshi shot another ball of energy from his hand. Dark Leoshi dodged the attack and flew upwards, readying another dark ball attack.

Leoshi saw the dark energy charging up for the attack. He waited until the ball of dark energy was flying at him.

Leoshi opened the book and started running right at the darkness. He suddenly jumped on the ground. Though beaten, he shouted:

"Shidome!"

The usual sphere of energy appeared again. The ball struck the shield again. This time, it bounced off, and in perfect reflection flew directly back at Dark Leoshi. with no time to react, it struck the evil one and caused him to dive bomb back to the earth. he crashed with dust flying everywhere.

Leoshi watched as Dark Leoshi slowly got to his feet. His black robe was now ripped in several places, his hair a mess. He was breathing heavily now, being in battle for so long.

"I see... your power is great." Dark leoshi said, both with exhaustion and contentment.

"Why are we fighting. If we are both the same person, then won't killing me kill you as well?" Leoshi asked.

"You fool, don't you think I'm aware of that?" Dark Leoshi said.

Meanwhile, Yapi remained flying over the fight. She wanted to keep the element of surprise intact.

She closed her eyes and sighed. "By the power of the 8 elements, I summon thee..." she began.

Moshi looked over and saw a source of light from above. "Yapi. She's full of surprises."

Meanwhile, Dark Leoshi continued to dust himself.

"Why can't we just stop fighting?" Leoshi asked.

"Because I haven't gotten everything I wanted to out of this fight yet." Dark Leoshi said. "Excuse me a moment."

His quickly held up his hand and without any trouble took the hit from Yapi's light attack. The light simply seemed to be absorbed into the palm of his hands.

Leoshi gasped. "He just absorbed the attack!"

"Thank you, Yapi." Dark Leoshi said. The charged up hand was repositioned to face Leoshi. In the next instant, a beam of light flew right at Leoshi.

His body was picked up into the air. He gave a surprised shout before flying off the docks and into the water.

"Leo!" Yapi shouted. She began to dive bomb until she hit the water's surface and went in.

There was nothing but silence now. Dark Leoshi merely watched, as if nothing had happened.

"That Dark one has amazing power." Moshi thought.

Even John, who was watching the entire fight from behind a building sighed. "This is getting out of hand."

"Why are we down here?" Lava asked as Enrique found a building.

"I just want to check this last chamber." he said. Enrique turned the doorknob of an ancient building. Slowly, he opened up the door. he and Lava walked into the dark chamber.

"Moshi? Hello?" Lava asked.

"...there doesn't appear to be anything down here." Enrique said.

"Can we go back now?" lava asked.

"We better." Enrique said.

Suddenly the door slammed shut and they where enveloped by darkness.

Lava sounded very agitated. "HEY!"
