Ha-ha, Twi, Yoshiko, and Yoshiken. I guess you’ll have to find out how your battles determine. All three of you may be surprised
All right, I am well aware of the fact that I have had had a tad of a delay. And yes, by now, it has become more then apparent that I have been saying this as the header for every chapter for a while now. Though recently, as many have noticed, the ratio in which the chapters have been distributed as of late has been decreasing gradually since the onset of this writing. Though I am trying to work more on the story
Just to leave a secondary note, this story is getting closer toward the end of this arc, and the fanfic itself is over halfway over. As of now, I am closing sign-ups for new characters. I apologize for anyone who still wishes to join. However, all of the slots that I need for the remained of this fanfic have been filled. Don’t worry though, if you wanted to join this one, or wanted to add additional characters, you can ask me to add them in the next story.
Now that that short note has been properly noted, I do hope you enjoy this, albeit late as always:

Cue. T and Yoshee were silent for a while. Finally, after a bit of odd silence, the confused green yoshi finally decided to ask:
“Can you free me?”
“Nope.” The tiny toad said almost immediately replied.
“Please?”
“Nope.”
Yoshee sighed “Why not?
The little girl didn’t seem to answer, she just began to walk around, holding both of her hands behind her back as she waddled around. Yoshee kept a watchful eye over the child.
“Isn’t there something I can do for you if you free me?”
“Nope.”
Yoshee growled in impatience. “C’mon, I have to go and find someone!”
“Don’t care.” She said immediately. She stopped her pacing, and looked toward the yoshi.
“It is forbidden. Once you walk into our land, you must either become a member of our tribe or suffer.”
Yoshee gave a small laugh. “For a little girl, you really know a lot of vocabulary.”
“Aw, I’m not so little.” She stated.
Yoshee laughed again. “Um… well then, I got to be a giant.”
“Oh, you want to see a giant?” Cue T. asked.
“Uh…” Yoshee quieted down. “…Nooooo.”
Cue T began to walk toward Yoshee. “You see, young yoshi, there are punishments to failure to uphold the law. How do you think we have so many skull decorations?”
Yoshee gulped. “I… um…”
Cue T. gave a laugh, a childish laugh that sounded as sinister as it did young. As she looked at Yoshee, her face began to contort, eyes turning to a glowing red, fangs appearing in the face.
There was a sudden flash of purple clouds, engulfing the toad, for only for a second. Whence the cloud vanished, there was a new figure standing there, one that looked like a small child underneath a white cloth, only exposing the red eyes and mouth.
“Ohmigosh!” Yoshee thought. “It’s a duplighost!”
“Surprised?” the ghost asked.
“Where’s the real Cue T?” Yoshee asked.
“Probably “hanging” around with the rest of the skulls.” The ghost said. “My name is Copy-Face!”
Yoshee was dumbstruck. “…Copy-Face? What kind of dumb name is that?”
Copy-Face whispered: “Blame the writer.”
“Hm?” Yoshee asked.
“Nothing important.” Copy-Face replied. “So then, child…”
The doppelganger slowly approached Yoshee, with both of his arms outstretched.
The next thing anyone knew, there was a shadow rushing from the sky with the call of: “YOSHEE!”
Teo, in yoshi form, finally landed on top of Copy-Face, delivering a strong kick to his head.
“Teo?” Yoshee asked. “What are you doing here?”
“Long story.” He said. Teo instinctively ran to Yoshee and untied the ropes. Finally breaking free, she got on her feet and pointed toward the doppelganger.
“That guy’s a duplighost!”
“That’s Copy-Face to you!” the ghost shouted.
Teo also gave the same dumbfounded look. “…copy-“
The ghost didn’t waste any time. It instantly jumped Yoshee, and threw her to the ground. The two of them began to wrestle on the ground, rolling around a bit, fighting as hard as they could to KO one another.
However, there was a sudden burst of purple clouds, Both Yoshee and Copy-Face had become engulfed.
The second after, Teo was left, starring at not one, but two different Yoshees.
“Peeerfect.” Teo whined.
The two of them sprung up, pointed toward one another and shouted: “IMPOSTER!”
“Oh boy…” Teo sighed.

There was the small scent of smoke. It tickled Lava’s nose enough to wake him from his sleep. He held his head and opened his eyes. He could see a little bit of smoke rising above.
“…Weird.” He stated, slowly coming back upward. As he did, his eyes met quite the amazing sight:
Colors of red and orange dancing along with the wind, towering a few feet over himself. The inferno gave an eerie red glow, and it seemed to become enraged with every breeze.
“Oh my gosh!” Lava exclaimed. Their campsite had set on fire. It seemed to have originated from the smaller campfire, which Teo was assigned to watch. Naturally, he had vanished from the site, although Treyba, Fantasy Guy, and Velvet T were all still asleep.
“FIRE!” Lava shouted.
All three of his friend sprang up at the same time, spotting the flames. “FIRE?!”
<FIRE!> Champ and Charon both shouted upon noticing the flames as well. They had stayed at the site to rest for the while.
“What the heck happened to Teo?!” Lava shouted, as he took his bed sheet and began to whip at the flames.
<Yoshee, Jay, and LD!> Champ shouted. <They are trapped in the woods, and Teo went to go rescue them!>
Lava continued to beat the fire. “That knuckle-head!” His next words were rhythmic to how be beat the fire. “How dare… he go… and leave… the stupid… fire… on!”
“When is he coming back?!” Velvet T asked.
<He told us to wait here for him!> Champ said.
“Well, we can’t exactly do that now-AHH!” lava shouted, as he ditched the blanket, which had come aflame.
“Let’s get the heck out of here!” Treyba shouted.

Yoshiken and Twi were fighting one on one, whilst Yin was attacking from the back, using a series of complex Justus.
Twi held his hand a claw together, and when he released, let a ball of shadow fire. Yoshiken shot another ball of fire, and dismissed the ball of darkness.
“How fun.” Twi said. “It has been ages since I fought someone like yourself.”
Yin, who was in the back, growled. “Darn, I’m running low on Chakra.”
“EE!” Yoshifrog shouted. “I threw all the rocks!”
John was on the top of the trees, trying to get a clear shot. “Darn it.”
He attempted to move to another location, but he suddenly lost his footing. As he fell, he accidentally pulled on the trigger. The mini-laser gun fired a beam that projected strait up into the sky.
--------------------------------------
Yapi was flying parallel with the Majestuosa. She had wanted to stretch her wings for a very long time, and felt quite relieved to feel the rush of wind against her wings once again.
“Hey, Yapi!” Leoshi called from the deck. “Do you see anything going on?”
Yapi began to look around the environment. All she was able to spot was a little but of smoke rising from somewhere behind.
“Nope.” Yapi stated.
Aside from Yapi whom had taken the skies, the other 5 were all standing around on deck. Moshi was standing on the top of the crow’s nest, and Eloeem and Spider were engaging in conversation while sitting on the stairs to the back deck. Leoshi was standing on the port side of the ship leaning on the railing a bit. Hunter, still feeling a bit awkward, stood alone, in the front of the ship, leaning against the back of the Majestuosa’s Yoshi figurehead.
Yapi gasped and looked down toward the ground, and gasped. There was a beam of light that shot from the ground, positioned toward the Majestuosa. It had come so fast that she wasn’t able to give a warning.
The beam managed to miss the main hull of the ship, but struck her hard on the starboard wing. The wing instantly shattered, sending everyone who was on the decks onto the floors. The shattered wing send smoke everywhere, surrounding Yapi so quickly that she lost sight of the ship and it’s crew.
Yapi coughed and began to stagger around a bit in the air. She came to a halt in the air, hovering, and used a few flaps of her purple wings to blow away the smoke that had encased them.
Finally, after about ten seconds, she managed to clear enough of the smoke to make things visible again.
To her shock, the Majestuosa, and all of her crew had vanished. No matter which direction Yapi looked, the ship had vanished from view. It had fallen too fast for her to see.
“No!” She shouted in distress. Yapi swooped down in at attempt to catch up with the falling ship, but she couldn’t see it. For some reason, she had fallen so fast that she had vanished through the clouds. Not only were her friends lost and falling, but now, she was also lost.
She swooped back down, and tried to find something, anything. But for miles on end, there was nothing but jungle.
-------------------------------------------------------
Everyone else aboard the ship was holding tightly onto her as she fell. By now, the area where the right wing used to be was charred, and some of the rails on that side were completely blown off. Smoke was still rising from the side of the ship.
“We’re going to crash!” Moshi shouted!
Hunter was clinging to the ship’s figurehead, and was starting to lift off the deck. “We’re gonna die!”
Leoshi was left, on the side. “WHAT DO WE DO?”
“…I’ll protect you.”
Leoshi realized that that voice sounded different then anyone on board. Though it still sounded like a yoshi, it was sounded very distant, echoing a bit.
Leoshi tried to look for the source of the voice, when he was quickly interrupted by a very sudden crash-
--------------------------------------------------------
“John, you missed!’ Yoshifrog shouted.
John, whom had now fallen on the ground headfirst after falling from the tree, growled. “And I’m fine, thanks.”
“Oh, sorry.” Yoshifrog said, helping him up.
Yin joined them behind the tress.
“I did what I could.” Yin said. “But that guy is pretty strong.”
The three of them looked toward Yoshiken and Twi, who were still engaged in their intense battle.
“…hey, do you hear something?” Yoshifrog asked.
“…………..aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!”
BAAAMMM!!
With a thunderous boom, the figure of the Majestuosa slammed into the rapids right beside the battle. Water was thrown in every direction, and Twi and Yoshiken were both thrown backward. Everyone was drenched on the instant.
The Majestuosa, to her crew’s astonishment, hasn’t exploded on impact. She was rocking extremely fiercely, as some of the ropes that supported the main mast snapped apart like broken guitar strings. Her main door was thrown open so violently that it has broken off it’s hinges and lied on the deck. The sound of small items like glass and silverware could be heard clanking and shattering inside. Both of her anchors dropped due to the force. One clung limply on it’s starboard side. The port anchor, however, plowed into the river bank, trapping the Majestuosa at the sight. Both of her sails had quite a few tears, and her flags were considerably charred. The ship’s mast began to break free of the ship, and was slowly leaning in the direction of the shore.
Moshi, who was still in the crow’s nest, began to shout as she began to fall along with the mast. As it did, it took down a few trees, until it finally came to a stop in the woods.
Moshi, who managed to safely ride the mast all the way to the jungle ground, looked forward. Apparently, the mast had landed inches from Yin, Yoshifrog, and John. Moshi herself had landed face to face with Yin.
Both Moshi and Yin gave angry expressions and pointed at one another.
“YOU!” they both shouted.
Eloeem and Spider were both lying at the foot of the stairs, near the door that lead inside the ship. Both of them exclaimed glances at one another with horrified expressions.
Hunter, who was still clinging to the figurehead, was shiver and drenches. All he could mutter out were a few anxious whimpers.
Leoshi was thrown on his back against the deck. “…how did this ship survive the fall… most caravels would have shattered…”
“Forget the ship!” Eloeem exclaimed. “How the heck did we survive?!”
The mysterious words: “I’ll protect you.” kept ringing in Leoshi’s mind. “…who saved us?”
Yoshiken shot upwards screaming. He was drenched, and not to happy about it. “AAAHHHHHH!! GET IT OFF!”
He shook a few times, and managed to get the water off of him.
Looking back down, he spotted a familiar sight. His katana was returned to him, resting at his feet. The wave seemed so strong that Yoshiken’s blade was returned to him.
“…Well, now that this is done…” Twi started. “Can we get on with this battle already?”
----------------------------------------------------------
The proctor’s helicopter was still flying, finally reaching the area where the contestants were all missing.
“Now this is an interesting turn of events.” he stated.
Jolene, who was sitting beside him and piloting the machine, simply nodded.
“…I’ll bet that some of the contestants have been defeated.” the proctor said. “I wish I could go and see who exactly was beaten.”
“…we can find out when we get the volcano. That’s coming up after the jungle. It’s only half of a day’s trip from here. We should be careful though, the volcano appears to be the most dangerous part of the course.” She said. We should arrive by sunset.
“Hey, Jolene… I want to make a bet with you.” the proctor stated.
Jolene looked up from the controls. “Hm?”
“I bet that… come nightfall, when the contestants are supposed to be in the volcano, at exactly midnight…”
Jolene gave him a slightly suspicious look. “…yes?”
“There will only be 4 left in the race.” he said.
“Four teams?” She asked.
“No, I mean four racers. Come to think of that, it may be expecting too much. But that’s what I believe. Just 4 racers will be able to make it to the volcano’s core.” he stated.
Jolene gave a distrustful glare. “And how do you know that?”
“When you do this race this many years… I just know.” the proctor said. “Though I’m interested to see who the 4 survivors will be. …this should be amusing.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup, that’s it for now. A bit more lengthy then I thought I was going to make it. I hope you liked it. I’ll try to have the next one prepared soon!
