Chapter 16
----------
Sky lay in the soft grass outside unconscious with the cut still across his chest. Toshi and Anjil stood over him, trying to find a way to help him.
“What do we do?” asked Toshi, “We have no idea where we are so no idea where the nearest hospital is and no way of getting help here!”
“I know! What can we do, he might die!”
Toshi and Anjil stood around looking at the open fields to their right and the warehouse to the left. They stood and pondered for a while.
“Oh crap! We forgot about Gar!”
Toshi ran back into the warehouse to see the three ropes with loops in them, all empty, including Gar’s. Toshi stood puzzled before he felt a tap on his shoulder, he span around to see the jade dragon there.
“Thanks for saving me, Toshi.” Said Gar sarcastically.
“Any time...” replied Toshi in an equally sarcastic way.
“What are we going to do about Sky? He’s lost a lot of blood by now and there’s no help for miles.”
“We know, we don’t know what to do, either. The last time he got injured he was…wait a second, that’s it!”
Toshi ran out of the warehouse and back towards Anjil.
“I’ve got it, remember last time he was injured, what happened?”
“Erm, yes, that dark glow. You think it’ll come back?”
“Can only hope, it was that weird grey yoshi we saw when we were upside down, or at least I saw it, you were unconscious. Gar may have seen him too, but we just gotta hope he comes back soon or Sky’s done for.”
The two yoshis and the dragon all waited around Sky, every so often checking if he was still alive.
“Bah! It’s been 15 minutes we can’t rely on this happening!” said Gar impatiently.
“It’s the only thing we can do! What oth…”
Toshi was interrupted by dark hole forming behind Gar and stared at it. Out of the hole came the mysterious dark yoshi and Yoshiken once more. The dark yoshi looked at Sky and his eyes started to flare brighter, but still retaining their eerie look. Sky’s wound glowed as it did last time and, sure enough, he was healed.
“I told you, Gar…”
“Oh shut your face…”
Sky slowly opened his eyes and looked up at the sky and clouds. He then looked at his chest to see no cut there, but his shirt slightly ripped where his cut was. He jumped to his feet and looked at the 4 yoshis standing there staring each other down. Sky just watched, not moving,
“What do you want with Sky and Yoshiken?” asked Gar to the dark yoshi.
“And who are you?” asked Toshi also.
The dark yoshi waited for a moment, staring with his dark eyes before answering in a dark voice.
“I am the Twilight Yoshi, and my reasoning does not concern you.”
“Pfft, like I’m ever going to call you that, I’ll just call you Twi for short.” Said Gar with a chuckle.
“Do what you wish.”
Twi lifted his mutated claw out of his cape and a dark glow emitted from it. He clenched his fist and at exactly the same time dark circles appeared all around The 4 yoshis causing a dark wall of portals to form. Anjil and Sky were blocked out of the dark pit leaving them oblivious to what will happen.
Inside the dark ring stood the 4 yoshis, all now with their weapons out except for Twi who stood still, staring at Toshi evilly. Yoshiken and Gar stood looking at each other, waiting for someone to attack, saying nothing. Twi walked forward towards Toshi slowly, still staring. Toshi got into a ready pose, going to defend Twi’s attack. Gar darted in with his sword and made a loud shout before swinging his sword down at Twi. Gar swiped into nothing and looked puzzled as he knew he just saw Twi there. He felt a sharp pain in his back before flying straight into one of the dark rings and disappearing. Toshi stared anxiously at where Gar had just disappeared into and just stared before looking back at Twi. Twi signalled to Yoshiken to follow Gar. Yoshiken readied his weapon and leaped into the portal, leaving Twi and Toshi to battle it out. Twi still did not get his weapon out, hitting Gar into the portal with only his gloved hand. Toshi started the attacking by running towards Twi and leaping into the air before coming down on top of him. Twi rolled out the way, making a dark ball appear in his hand which soon turned into the shape of a weapon. The darkness was now a clear scythe, 7 foot long with a huge head on it, made of a silver metal. Twi was considerably taller than Toshi, over a foot taller, and with the bigger weapon, Toshi was starting to think fighting was a bad idea. But he made another attack, stabbing at Twi with his spear.
Gar landed in a desolate place. He was standing in the ruins of what seemed to be an old city, very little remained of it, just the basic frames of some buildings with some bricks around the place. All around was wasteland, no nature at all. The sunlight beat down on Gar’s back as he stood up and turned to the portal. Soon Yoshiken also came through with his weapon ready, landing on his feet and facing Gar. Gar spent no time is waiting and attacked fiercely with many swipes from his large sword. Yoshiken blocked and dodged the attacks, trying to fight back with attacks of his own. The swords collided over and over and both fighters were getting nowhere. Gar spread his wings and leaped back into the sky, just above the ground. Yoshiken also leaped up spreading his wings, and they both flew into the air swinging and blocking their swords as they flew into the sky further and further. They were now almost in the clouds where they held their swords against each other’s, staring each other down. Gar grinned mischievously before spitting into Yoshiken’s eyes and pushing away. Yoshiken roared in pain as the acid spit burnt his eyes. Gar saw the change and front flipped into the air and kicking down onto Yoshiken who shot back down the ground at a high speed, straight back through the portal just before hitting the ground.
Twi was half-heartedly defending Toshi’s attacks. Toshi was attacking fast and furiously with Twi merely using his scythe to block. Toshi’s attacks got fiercer each time trying to knock out Twi’s defence. He back off now, knowing that he couldn’t take down Twi on his own. He looked to a portal, thinking he could try and find a way to avoid Twi whilst Gar beat Yoshiken. Twi made his move as Toshi wasn’t looking and was suddenly right next to Toshi. He used his claw to pick up Toshi by his neck. Toshi dropped his spear and tried to free the grip from his neck. Twi lifted Toshi high in the air before swinging him around and throwing him into a portal. Toshi flew through the air before hitting something and landing on the floor just before the portal. He grabbed his head in pain before looking at what he hit. Yoshiken lay on the floor just getting up, rubbing his eyes. Gar then come through the portal and landed ahead of Toshi and Yoshiken. He saw Twi, then Toshi’s spear on the ground before leaping into action. He jumped over Twi and landed, rolling over the spear, picking it up and throwing it in Toshi’s general direction. Toshi had by now stood up and caught the spear, readying himself again. He turned to see Yoshiken who had also stood up. Yoshiken tried a roundhouse kick to knock Toshi into a portal but Toshi just managed to put his spear in the way, but was still pushed back. Yoshiken leaped onto Toshi and they both went into another portal, leaving Gar and Twi still fighting.
Outside this wall, Sky and Anjil could hear the sounds of metal clashing and were looking worried and desperate to help.
“Anjil,” Sky said, “We must get in there. Fly us in and we can help.”
“Me help? How? I have nothing to fight with.”
“Well at least drop me in there, then fly off for help. It’s the best idea we have so far.”
“…ok, but try and not get hit again.”
Anjil grabbed Sky’s hand and spread her wings before taking flight and slowly lifting up Sky and taking him over the ring. She was now above it, looking down watching Twi and Gar exchange blows.
“Ok, now!”
Anjil dropped Sky and watched as he fell to the ground and landed just behind the duellers. Sky nodded up to Anjil and she nodded back, flying away for help from somewhere.
“Sky, glad you could join us.” Said Gar, leaping back towards Sky.
“No problem.” Replied Sky.
Sky readied his kunai and Gar readied his sword. They both charged on Twi and attacked.

You got lucky with that spit XD.
Awesome fight scene Twi! just like how you told me it was going to be ^^. It doesn't look like im getting very lucky with my battling, I better step it up a notch.
I really liked this chapter, in fact...it might be my favorite. Keep it up Twi!

Hahaha, lots of descriptive action. You're getting pretty good, Twi.
I only found one grammar error.
"He backed off" would be the right verb tense, hehe.

Wow, this one was peticularly long, which is great (not to say the others weren't, but this one was just... WOW!) Nice battle scene, and It makes me all the more eager to see what comes next! Awesome, keep it up!

Not a big or good one, but a new character

Chapter 17
---------
Toshi and Yoshiken tumbled out of yet another portal. There were high up in the mountains near a cliff edge as they came to the mysterious world. Toshi stood and turned to Yoshiken, Yoshiken did the same. They stared each other down for almost a minute before Toshi spoke up.
“Was Gar too much for you eh?”
Yoshiken stared back more menacingly after the comment, who then leapt back to the portal they had just come out of. He leapt through it and closed the portal, leaving Toshi on his own in the mountains of a strange, deserted world.
“Well bugger…” thought Toshi as he looked around, stranded.
Gar and Sky both charged at Twi with their weapons out ready to strike. Twi smiled evilly and waited as the yoshi and dragon approached. Gar reached him first and swung his sword fiercely. Twi lifted up his claw and grabbed it, stopping it in its tracks and trapping it. Gar struggled to move it, but decided to let him have it, Gar thought that Twi couldn’t defend against the oncoming Sky that was almost in striking range. Gar jumped back away from the sword and Twi before feeling a sharp pain in the back of his head. He stumbled and grabbed the back of his head. He was bleeding. He staggered forward before falling to the ground unconscious. Sky turned his head whilst running forward. His eyes widened as he saw Gar on the ground in front of the feet of Yoshiken. Twi just had to punch Sky once to stop him in his tracks. Sky had forgotten about Twi and similarly fell to the floor. Twi and Yoshiken looked at each other and smiled.
“Too easy…” said Twi in a dark menacing voice. Yoshiken picked up the two enemies and threw them into two different portals, one for each. Twi raised his claw and all the portals closed, trapping everyone. Twi and Yoshiken disappeared in a dark flash and the battlefield fell silent.
Far away now, Anjil was still high in the sky looking around the fields for any sign of help. She had been flying for well over an hour now and no luck of anything in sight apart from field after field. She was starting to grow tired and with no end in sight it seemed logical to her that she should rest. She flew down onto the grass and sat down, taking a small chocolate bar from her jacket pocket for sustenance. As she sat her eyes began to get heavy. After the day she had had she was finally ready to fall asleep. Before she knew it she was out of it, lying peacefully on the floor.
Chaoshi walked around aimlessly through fields and woods for no particular reason he could think of. He just felt like getting outdoors a bit. He swung his chaos sword at the grass lazily as he walked. Suddenly he tripped over something and fell harshly onto the ground with a thud. He scurried back up and brushed himself off and looked around.
“Phew, “ he said aloud “good thing no-one saw that, that was embarrassing.”
“I saw it…” said a voice from behind him.
Chaoshi jumped in surprised and fell over again. He looked up to see a light blue winged yoshi staring down at him with a disgruntled face.
“Oh…sorry about that…” he said shyly.

Chapter 18
----------
Yoshee walked around the hospital floor with the aid of crutches. She walked slowly, taking each step carefully, concentrating on not falling flat on her face. Fortunately for her her injury wasn't as bad as was previously thought, but nevertheless it was still unusable.
Yoshee couldn't help but feel something bad was about to come, the feeling made her shiver. She perked up as she heard what was a faint shout, it was prolonged and getting louder. Then she looked up at the skylight and realised what was making the noise. She tried to get out the way and decided it was best to just jump for it.
Chaoshi smashed through the skylight.
The shouting stopped.
Chaoshi stood up with a groan and brushed off the broken glass that was scattering his clothes.
"Phew, good thing no-one saw that." he exclaimed.
"I did..." a voice from behind him replied.
"Argh damnit!"
Footsteps were heard from the stairwell and Anjil entered with a look of shock and relief in the same twisted expression.
"Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry I dropped you!"
"That's alright," replied Chaoshi. "Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to concentrate on passing out."
Thud.

"Well this seems like a pretty poor situation..."
Toshi was lost. From the cliff edge he was once standing he had now moved into a wooded area. It was desolate and bleak. The trees had no vegetation and the ground was grey. Toshi had been walking for almost an hour straight forward and he had been doing nothing but avoiding low-set branches (and being hit by them too.) He was tired and wanted to rest, or at least find something more interesting. It was a new world, like most stories of this kind there is treasure around. Toshi did love treasure.
And treasure there was indeed.
As Toshi felt like giving up when he realised that the ground had turned from it's former grey into a now luscious green. The trees now had leaves on them, big leaves, green leaves. Toshi found this strange how it suddenly changed. Looking behind him he could see the dark woods easily, and the change was sudden, not gradual. Toshi started to pick up the pace, almost into a run, and then ran into something of a light blue colour.

Sky's eyes opened slowly from his unconscious slumber. He was on his back, his clothes quite tattered after the fighting. He opened his eyes wide now and stared into this dark blue sky.
The dark blue sky...shaped in ovals...surrounded by dark grey...
Sky stared at the thing in front of him before acknowledging what it was. He slowly shuffled back, seeing the thing in full view now.
It was Twi...or at least a lighter greyed, blue version. The variant worse lighter armour, dark leather, and carried a sword in a scabbard and a shield on his back. Sky slowly stood up, turned, and ran into the forest behind him.
He kept running until he crashed into something blue.

Gar lay injured in a river, flowing slowly around the ruined landscape. He could move, but it pained him to do so. He groaned and rolled over and lay head first in the river. It was then he noticed the river was red. Gar jumped up and spread him wings to hover just above the red river. Then he took a handful of the red liquid and tasted it: blood.
"Argh! What in Bahamut's name is this place?! This is just insane!"

Very nice chapter! Its good to finally have another one to read and be amazed at ^^.
This chapter had so many cliffhangers, that it pains me to wait for the next chapter XD.

Chapter 19

Sky and Toshi slowly stood up with a groan. They stared at each other for a while in a haze before realising they were now reunited. After a quick second to get their thoughts together they were soon to address their problems.
"Yeah, there's nothing that way." said Toshi pointed back the way he came.
"Well there certainly is something behind me so lets just run the hell away!"
"I say that way, there seems to be a clearing."
"No, no way! No more clearings in forests! Every time we've been in a forest since the mall we've been in a fight with either a brainwashed sword-wielder or an extra from a crap sci-fi B-movie!"
"Then where, Sky? The woods? Sounds bloody safe to me!"
Sky knew Toshi was right, but he still hated the idea of more fights in clearings. However the two took their chances and ran towards the clearing.
As they reached the clearing it became apparent that this was like no other places they had seen before. Although the rest of this strange alternate reality was dark and eerie, this place was one the most glorious places the two yoshis had ever seen. There was a lake in the centre of the clearing with some sort of large statue in the centre of that. Around the lake were flowers of many colours and the grass was lush.
"So where's the big fight? I'm ready to kick arse!"
Toshi ducked from the absence of hit from Anjil. He stood back up slightly embarrassed.
"I don't know, but there will be little arse-kicking methinks."
Another, slightly disturbing in an up beat manner voice perked up behind the pair, "Azushi?"

The hospital's problem with overcrowdedness was made more of a problem that's to Chaoshi's unfortunate fall. Both Yoshee and Chaoshi were recovering quite quickly and were chatting with Brute about matters concerning the past few days of strange occurances.
"So, Brute, found anything new about these things that have happened?" asked Yoshee.
"Not as yet, though I hear there's somebody trying to discover it. I'm about to go with Anjil to find more help to stop these weirdos before they do some even more serious damage."
"Sounds like a good idea." said Chaoshi, "I wish I could help but, alas, falling doesn't help."
"But hang on, you have your own wings. Why would you need to be carried?" questioned Yoshee.
"Injured 'em before I came out here after tripping over."
"Very accident prone aren't you?"
At that point Leoshi and Anjil entered the room. Leoshi was holding a piece of paper.
"Sorry to barge in, but I think I have found our culprits!"
"That's excellent!" said Brute enthusiastically, "Do go on."
"Right, ahem. Apparently these creatures are called "The Twilights." There are 7 of them with 3 aspects each. They are ancient and were considered gods amongst their people. There could also be 1 more twilight in the world."
The group pondered the information received. Although it wasn't much it was enough to let them know that there was indeed a problem facing them. Seven? One had caused significant damage, what could 7 do?
Anjil and Brute made their leave hastily to find help for this quest, leaving Yoshee, Chaoshi and Leoshi alone in the hospital room.

New chapter coming when I feel like it.
Edit: Yes, this is a lot of dialogue, but there will be action next time. Lots and lots of it. I think there are 2 or 3 fights in the next chapter if I planned this right.
