This is a fan fic of mine, currently 9 chapters (10 including prologue). Not great, my chapters are incredably short, and I don't update enough, but I hope now to get a chapter done every two days or so, try to keep to a scheduale. This has been going for months, before April the prologue was, so I thought it'd be good to submit it here. Currently, this does end, but it's a loooooooong way to get there and there may be many acts or arcs, but currently, not much has happened. There are currently 5 main characters (Toshi, Sky, Anjil, Yoshiken, Yello(all copyright to respective owners)) and there may be more, if you want to be in it, give me a PM or something, though it may be a while untill you're added, or a short time, I just don't know =D
Anywho, onto the chapters, these are what I've got so far:
----------
Prologue (Written March 7th 2006)
---------
In the quiet of the night time two yoshis walk down a half lit street. A slight breeze is blowing and whipping up the dead autumn leaves. The two friends, both different shades of blue, walk steadily towards their home at the end of the street. The light blue yoshi lags behind, his legs not as powerful as his darker blue friend. The dark blue yoshi reaches the house and enters leaving to door ajar. A faint voice only the light blue yoshi comprehends is heard on the breeze and the yoshi stops. He gingerly looks at his surrounding. Nothing of any real interest, a few bushes and shrubs but not much else. The voice is heard from behind him and he turns quickly. He is startled by the familiarity of the sound but he could not quite remember. He sets off again, first a brisk walk, then a light jog and finally a full sprint. He pants heavily, shocked and scared by the noise he had heard. The dark blue yoshi enters the hallway and notices his friend sitting on the floor near the door. “You Ok?” asks the dark blue yoshi, “you look rather frazzled.” After a long moment the other yoshi look sup to see his friend’s expression of concern. Still panting he slowly nods, still in relative shock. “Well come on then, mate. You look like you could do with a good rest.” He holds out his hand which is met by a light blue hand and is pulls the light blue yoshi up onto his feet and continues to bed. The light blue yoshi pauses for a second before following up the stairs to his own room. The thoughts of the voice race around his sub-conscious. He is sure he know it, but from where? He stays wide awake thinking about the possibilities warping his mind. He slowly phases out his thoughts and falls to sleep.

Chapter 1 (Written April 5th 2006)
----------
The sound of steps from the dark blue yoshi comes down from the steps out from the main room of the house.
“G’morning bro” said the Dark blue yoshi to the light blue one standing at the work surface next to a boiling kettle.
“Hello, Toshi. Nice sleep?” replied the light blue yoshi.
“Fine thanks, Sky. What’cha making?”
“Coffee.”
“Heh, 7 cups as per usual I presume.”
“Of course.”
“Well hurry up, we’re going to the mall later. Finish it before it stops raining.”
Toshi left into the sitting room and picked up the morning paper with his large hand. Toshi was a medium to heavy built yoshi with dark blue skin. He wore black armbands and his trademark trainers which he would never leave without. He has a kind and considerate personality and will always help a fellow friend much like Sky. Sky was a smaller build but taller than Toshi. He had long flowing red hair and a scarf that, like Toshi’s shoes, would never leave without. He wore white bandages around his hands. He had a lighter blue tone of skin but, like Toshi, was kind and caring.
“Don’t worry Toshi, I’ll finish these before it stops raining, then we can go.”
As if by magic, it stopped raining at that precise moment when Sky finished his sentence.
“You were saying?” said Toshi with a sarcastic glare towards Sky.
Sky smiled back and pour his coffees into a large jug and poured it into his mouth and drunk it all without even a breath. Toshi stared in disbelief and rose to his feet.
“Take it we’re leaving?” said Sky with a slight satisfaction on his face. He walked towards the door.
“What about your hat, bro?” asked Toshi.
“My hair’s too sexy to hide.” replied Sky giggling to himself, “After you, bro.”
“Thanks”
Toshi left through the door and as Sky followed he heard the same whispers again. He turned suddenly to see if he was being followed. The whispers subsided and he cautiously left the house and chased after Toshi.

Chapter 2 (Written April 6th 2006, contains gore)
----------
Toshi and Sky walk towards the large shopping mall coming into view over the hill. It was mid-afternoon and the sun was beating down on the two yoshis’ backs. They approached the mall when they heard a call from above.
“Hey! Toshi! Sky!”
Toshi and Sky looked around confused. They could not see where the voice was coming from. An angelic light blue yoshi landed before them.
“Hey guys!” said the yoshi.
“Oh hi Anjil, didn’t see you there.” Said Toshi
Anjil was a light blue yoshi with very large angel wings on her back. She spoke in a soft, gentle voice and had blue eyes. Another call was heard this time from closer to the mall entrance. It was very busy in the town and the three yoshis couldn’t quite see where the call was from. They found a red yoshi with large dragon wings standing by the entrance waving toward the three.
“Helloooo!” Shouted the red yoshi. This yoshi was tall and red. He had large dragon wings and wore a blue bandana which supported his yellow hair, “Come on, Anjil!”
“Coming, Yoshiken.” Called Anjil back, “Nice seeing you guys, I better get going. Bye.”
Anjil started to go towards the door when the ground started to rumble. The crowd of yoshis stopped and looked around. Suddenly the sky went dark and purple clouds formed around the square. The yoshis ran around screaming as the ground cracked and let out a demonic purple glow. In a flash the mall exploded with a purple flame and sent the debris in all directions which sliced and crushed passers-by. Toshi turn to see a large shard of glass cut through a green yoshi who running away. The green yoshi stood still and slowly one half slid away and his organs spewed out on the floor. His bones snapped and splintered as they were ripped from his body and the blood formed a slowly enlarging puddle which came towards Toshi.
Bodies from the now wrecked mall flew all over and people were thrown back by the force. The dead were scattered in a huge radius around the mall with shrapnel skewering, concrete splattering and organs spewed across the floor metres away from their previous owners. The few yoshis who had survived looked up at the purple hell fire and the darkened sky broken with lightning to see a dark figure with glowing eyes. The figure disappeared with a flash of light and the sky returned to normal.
The cries of the survivors for their loved ones could be heard from far away. Toshi, Sky and Anjil looked around to see if they could find anyone they could help. Anjil’s eyes turned to a vacant stare to see her beloved on the floor a few feet from her. She ran towards him with tears streaming from her eyes. Toshi and Sky follow closely behind her to see Yoshiken on the floor with various cuts and scrapes on his body. He was still breathing but clearly on the brink of life. The faint sirens could be heard coming towards the proximity of the wreckage of the mall. Anjil embraced her love as he struggled for breath. Toshi was still shaken from his sight before and Sky look around at the wasteland of the dead and heard the whispers again, this time audible.
“Come, my child. Come to me.”
This repeated itself over and over. Sky covered his ears at the noise and clenched his eyes shut.
“Err…Sky. Your leg…” said Toshi in a quivering voice.
Sky looked down at his leg to see a large piece of metal lodged into the side of his knee. He yanked it out and stared at it. IT had gone a good 2 inches into his leg. He stared and the newly formed wound which suddenly turned purple and glowed before closing shut. HE staggered back at the sight and stumbled over a stray liver. The ambulances came and escorted the dead to their cold ends.

Chapter 3 (Written April 8th '06)
----------
Anjil walked down the lonely corridor of the hospital towards the now crowed ward where Yoshiken had been admitted. Following her was Toshi who had come along to see him too. They entered the now noisy room towards the end of the small, bleak room to see the red yoshi lying on his bed with all sorts of wires and equipment.
“Yoshiken!” cried Anjil as she ran towards her love.
Toshi stood back and just waved friendlily at him.
“What happened to him?” ask Toshi to the nearby doctor.
“Nothing serious, minor cuts and scraps. No breakages luckyily although he may need surgery.”
“Why so?”
“Well it seems a piece of shrapnel seems to have ripped his left lung. Nothing to serious as of now but, overtime, it will get worse. I was going to tell her but she seems upset now. I’m not sure telling her would be the safest thing at the moment.”
“Let me speak to her later.”
“That would be best.”
The doctor left to see other patients in the room. Toshi looked around the ward to see all sort of cases, all from the mall. The ward was packed and beds were being put around the corridors with more victims coming in.
A voice came over the speaker system “This is the manager of this hospital speaking. May we ask all visitors to leave due to shortage of space. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
“We’d better leave, Anjil” said Toshi.
“I suppose” replied Anjil with a quivering voice, “Goodbye, Yoshiken…”
The two yoshis left with a final wave. Anjil hugged Yoshiken and with a tear in her eye she left with Toshi.
The room fell quiet. A sudden breeze came through the window. Yoshiken turned his head towards it and saw a purple glow and a glint of metal.

Chapter 4 (April 18th '06)
----------
The hospital corridors remained silent through the day. The ban on visitors during this busy time gave the hospital an eerie feel. Fast footsteps echoed down the hallway as Anjil ran towards the ward Yoshiken was being treated. She ran in to see doctors and nurses around the area where he was.
“What’s happened?” Anjil asked frantically, looking at an empty bed, Her face dropped at the sight of the empty bed, “Where on earth is he?”
“We don’t know, we came to check up and…”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW? YOU WERE TREATING HIM! HOW COULD HE DISAPPEAR?” Anjil shouted angrily.
“We’re sorry, we don’t know how it happened or when, but he is gone. He couldn’t have gotten far with his injuries, though. We have search teams looking at an area around the hospital. We believe he escaped through the window.”
“How did he escape through the bloody window? WE’RE ON THE 5TH FLOOR!”
“We’re sorry, it’s….”
“That’s all you can say isn’t it? Sorry. Why don’t you stop talking and find him!” With these words she ran out the room with tears in her eyes. He sobs echoed around the 5th floor, then silence.

Chapter 5 (May 5th)
----------
Toshi and Sky were walking along a path through a suburb of Yoshi’s Island. It seemed a nice day; the sun was shining with some clouds in the sky. The pair of yoshi’s were talking about the previous events, both still in mild shock about what had happened. As they walked past the hospital Anjil burst through the doors and fell to the floor in clear distress. Toshi and Sky ran to her aid and realised she was crying.
“What’s wrong Anjil?” asked Toshi as he helped her onto her feet.
“You ok?” asked Sky simultaneously as he also helped.
Anjil was still crying but managed to stutter out a few words.
“Y..y…oshiken…..is m…missing…”
Sky and Toshi looked at each other is horror at the news. They help Anjil to a nearby bench and comforted her. Sky suddenly jerked his head up and looked dead ahead at the forest opposite them. He stood up and kept staring at the forest.
“Sky? Yo, bro!” Toshi said to him with no reply, “Dude what are you staring at?”
Toshi looked in the same direction as Sky and saw a dark figure and two what seemed to be glowing lights.
“What is that?” asked Anjil, who was now staring at the figure.
“I don’t know, what do you think Sky…Sky?” Toshi looked towards Sky’s original position to see he had gone. He looked up and saw Sky running towards the figure.
“Hey! Wait up!” called Toshi after him. Toshi began to chase Sky and Anjil followed.
----------
Chapter 6 (June 9th)
----------
As Anjil and Toshi ran into the forest, they paused to look for Sky.
“Where is he?” asked Toshi frantically.
“I don’t know, he can’t have gotten far.”
Toshi ran deeper into the forest, Sky still no-where to be seen. He kept running through the forest, Anjil following behind. Toshi was slowly going further and further ahead of Anjil though the thick forest.
”Toshi! Wait!” Shouted Anjil to the blue yoshi who was almost out of sight. He could not be seen now, and the called had not been heard. Anjil looked around at the trees, she could see nothing but darkness. She walked slowly forward but paused in a small clearing. It had a pond in the middle where a small yellow yoshi was sitting on a rock, fishing. The yellow yoshi turned,
“Oh, hello.” Said the yellow yoshi.
“Hi there. You wouldn’t have happened to see two blue yoshis run past have you?”
“Erm...I heard some running going down there, but I didn’t see them, I was too busy fishing.” The yoshi smiled when he mentioned fishing.
“Ok, could you help me find them? It’s important.”
“Errrr…ok, sure.” The young yoshi hopped down from the rock and went over to Anjil, “My name’s Yello, nice to meet you”
“Heh, nice name for a Yellow yoshi. I’m Anjil.”
“Hehe, nice name for an Angel yoshi.”
Yello and Anjil went down through the woods at the left of the pond to find Toshi and Sky.
----------
Chapter 7 (July 4th)
----------
Toshi ran into a clearing in the forest. He looked around and saw a lake and a rock. As he walked up the rock he noticed a small fishing rod there. It was quiet. He stopped and looked around to see if he could see Sky.
“Crap! I’ve just been here! Where the hell has he gone?”
Toshi walked around the lake slowly, carefully listening out for any hints of another yoshi. Suddenly there was a rustling in the trees to the left of him. He turns sharply and stares at the trees, waiting for something to come. A red winged yoshi emerges. The yoshi has yellow hair and what seems to be a blue bandana. His eyes were not the normal white but instead they were glowing a dark purple.
“Yoshiken?” said Toshi nervously to the red yoshi.
There was no reply. Yoshiken just stared at Toshi, and Toshi stared back. There they stood, staring. Behind Toshi there were footsteps. Toshi turned to see Sky emerge from the thicket behind him.
“Sky! Where did you go?”
“Sorry, he looked like the guy at the mall, but he got away…is that Yoshiken?” Sky now stared at Yoshiken, and Yoshiken stared back.
“I dunno, Bro.” Replied Toshi, “But he sure as hell ain’t as lively as he was.
Yoshiken took a step back and pulled out his katana.
“Erm…Toshi, time to run?”
“…I think so”.
Toshi and Sky run back around the lake. Yoshiken closely charged at them ready to attack.
----------
Chapter 8 (July 17th)
----------
A cry of terror was heard from afar which caught Anjil and Yello’s interest. The both stopped walking and turned sharply towards the noise.
“What was that?” asked Yello
“No idea, but it’s coming from over there, maybe it’s the others! C’mon”
Anjil and Yello started to run towards the source of the noise. The noise soon turned from screams to the clashing of metal. This sound worried Anjil as she started to run faster.
Meanwhile at the lake, Sky and Toshi stared at the pursuing Yoshiken. Both Sky and Toshi had their weapons out. Sky, his trusty Kunai along his wrist and Toshi with his infamous Zeco. Yoshiken had stopped and was staring at Toshi and Sky with his blackened eyes. As the 3 yoshis stared each other down, a faint shout was heard from the forest as well as light footsteps.
“Sky? Toshi?” shouted Anjil.
Yoshiken turned sharply towards the shout. Toshi and Sky took their chances and tried to grab Yoshiken, only to have their weapons blocked by the flaming Katana. Yoshiken leaped back before charging back and took a swing at Toshi. Toshi easily blocked and attempted a counter, but that was blocked. Sky came in with a big leap and threw two Kunai at Yoshiken. Yoshiekn managed to roll out the way of this and leap back into the fight and took a stab at Sky. This was blocked, but the force of the hit was sent Sky sliding back.
Faint whispers suddenly came out of nowhere and came from an position seemingly moving. Yoshiken put away his weapon and fled through the forest. The whispers stopped and Toshi and Sky were left standing with their weapons out.
“Sky! Toshi! What happened?” asked Anjil trying to catch her breath.
----------
Chapter 9 (August 28th)
----------
Anjil stood still puzzled at why both Toshi and Sky had their weapons out with Yello beside her, with a similarly puzzled face.
“Yoshiken was here, but he was different, he tried to attack us and was really angry or something..” Toshi said panting.
“Yoshiken?! Which way did he go?!”
Toshi wearily pointed directly in front of him, “Don’t think of going, he was far too fast, and I haven’t a clue what’s there, could be anything, there were these whispers.”
The four yoshis stared into the depths of the forest in wonder at what may be in there. What were the whispers? What was up with Yoshiken? What the hell is going on?
“I can’t just stand here and do nothing!” shouted Anjil.
“Well what CAN we do? We have no idea what we’re up against here, could be anything!” replied Toshi.
“So what do you suggest?” said Sky.
“Go back to town, get help or find any information that we can on whatever this thing is.” Replied Toshi again, “if we know what we’re doing, we can get be more prepared.”
The four yoshis came out of the forest and returned to their homes. It was getting late and the sun was starting to set over the horizon. As they approached Anjil’s house, they parted ways, Anjil returning to a lonely home again. Toshi and Sky went on to their own home, leaving Yello behind outside Anjil’s house.
Yello stood still and turned towards the door of Anjil and knocked. He hoped he’d be able to sleep there for that night, realising he had nowhere to stay. Anjil opened the door and let Yello in.
They would all wait until tomorrow to know what was going on, but it was a wait they were willing to have.
