Haha, awesome job with this chapter.
Wouldn't it be thanks? XD But other than that, I believe your conventions are getting better with each chapter.

Two months later, new chapter. Been busy, honest!
---------- Chapter 20 ---------- Gar decided it'd be best for him to get out of the blood river as fast as possible. He swam to the nearest bank and got out, standing on the bank saturated with blood from head to toe. "It's gonna take ages to get all this blood out my clothes!" This was actually quite high on his list of worries, just below "where the hell am I?" and "Where the hell are the others?". Regardless he decided to have a quite scout around to see what there was in this desolate abomination of a world.
He walked first towards a set of ruins, possibly of a temple. There wasn't anything particularly interesting about the ruins. Simple broken stone, no interior or roof as was the fashion of ruined temples. The only thing that worried him was the gently sobbing of a child coming from part of a pillar. This was never really a good sign.
Gar walked carefully towards the pillar as the sobbing got louder. Strangely the heat also got more intense, but as a dragon he was used to that kind of thing, but the change was there. He peered behind the pillar to see a small Yoshi, no more than around 8, sitting cross legged on the floor, head in hands, crying. The dark coloured yoshi's head seemed to be on fire which Gar first thought was the reason he was crying.
"Hey li'l guy, what'sa matter?" Gar asked in the most sympathetic voice he could muster.
Then he felt a pain in his shoulder. It was a sharp and rather agonising pain that made him wince a tad before looking down to see a rather eloquent arrow jammed into it. Gar then looked to the place where the fiery kid was. No kid. Gar's final glance went back up to see a lighter blue female in the near distance looking menacingly at Gar with solid blue eyes. The fiery yoshi, who Gar noticed had solid red eyes was by her side giving a smirk more menacing than a toddler ready to kick someone in the 'nads.
Gar's tone went from sympathetic to angry.
"And who may you guys be?" he asked in a 'trying to stay cool' tone even though there was an arrow in his shoulder. The two foes said nothing to Gar and left hastily. Gar tried to pull the arrow out but it was too painful to try. Instead he gave chase to the two freaks of nature. --- "Azushi?" the voice repeated.
"I think you must have the wrong guys. I'm Sky and this is Toshi." replied Sky in a confused state.
Toshi and Sky looked for where the voice was. A grey figure appeared from the trees and into the opening. The Yoshi was tall, must've been around 6'5" at first glance. He had long hair in a pony-tail and a side-parted fringe which came down along the sides of his face. It was a dark blue colour, the same as his eyes. He wore simple, loose fitting black shirt and trousers, golden gauntlets and grieves and blackened boots. He had a sword in a scabbard and held a shield. This yoshi also had dark blue wings, the same as his hair and eyes. He had a sort of nice feel about him, but this only unnerved Sky and Toshi.
The grey yoshi approached slowly. Sky and Toshi tried to back away, but felt compelled to stay put. They readied their weapons.
"I'm not here to hurt you, Azushi." the yoshi continued. "Who IS Azushi?" questioned Toshi, holding his spear slightly higher.
The yoshi said nothing but starting angling his walk towards Sky. Toshi started to get freaked out by this weirdo coming at them and made the snap decision of charging at the grey one. He subsequently fell flat on his face. Toshi looked around to see his feet were caught in thick vines which tightened as he struggled.
Sky on the other hand had no such vines and was free to move. He, however, did not. "Who...are you?" asked Sky in a slightly quivering voice. "I am Night." the yoshi revealed. "You are my son."
Sky's face went blank. Could this be his father? Sky shook his head violently and then laughed.
"Ahaha, yeah, whatever. How could you, what seems to be some sort of diabolical freak, be my father?" With this, Sky charged Night with his kunai drawn and leaped at him. ---------- That'll do for this chapter, I know I promised fights, and that'll be next time, just needed to actually get the pre-fight stuff done, if the fights were included it'd be pretty damn long. Anyhows, enjoy, see you in about 2 months!

But long chapters are cooler~
Oh well, still a good chapter. You know what? I didn't find any grammatical errors worth noting this time!
