(Strangie's only 5 feet high, you'll probably note this when you see him. ) Strangie took another bite of his apple, content with himself, but he looked up when someone said, "Hey", to him. He turned to the voice, surprised to find another human (Jay). "Hey there!" he replied, taking another bite of his apple. "Mmm... fancy seeing another human around here, eh? I thought I'd be the only one here..." He took a quick glance around, seeing if there were any other humans, and, upon not seeing any, turned back to his new acquaintance, bringing his free hand up and adjusting his visor a little. "So what's your name there, pal?" (Ok, though Jay is about your height.) Jay couldn't help but chuckle a little. "Hehe, I thought I was the only human here as well. Oh, and my name's Jay Tanoshi, or JT, whatever you want to call me." Jay took another bite out of the apple, chewed, then swallowed. "Anyway, what's your name?"

"Nice to meet you. You can just call me Strangie," he replied. He took a look around again, and noticed the different types of creatures gathering at the buffet table - a Boo, some floating black cat creature, and that suspicious black Yoshi with the cape.
"Look at all these characters here, eh?" he said, gesturing to the people around him and Jay. "Looks like this fair attracted all manners of creatures..." He took a final bite of the apple he had, leaving only the core. "The fruit is excellent here, as always when I make the occasional visit..."

Without luck of finding the person who had called him, Enrique wandered around the fairgrounds observing the many booths along the main stretch of the festival. He noticed a rather large group of people around a particular booth near the welcome banner. Interested in what the attraction was, he paced to that particular booth, where he noticed a ghost with a blue hat, a black Yoshi with purple hair that lacked pupils, and an unidentifiable black creature. Behind them was a long table covered with all types of food; he figured that this was the large buffet that they festival regularly had. After he arrived at the table, he payed some more coins for access to the buffet table; the clerk gave him twenty tickets, good for twenty items on the table. He gave back only two of the tickets, picking up a bunch of grapes and a melon.
Enrique started munching on the grapes as he approached the group of individuals that originally caught his eye when he first glanced at the general area. He was initially rather shy of greeting them, as he didn't know whether or not they were any friendly. Nonetheless, he was within a few feet of them, as they seemed inviting enough. Meanwhile, more party-goers of all races were approaching the buffet table, so much that it caught the attention of Enrique. He faced the small group, and made an attempt to act friendly toward them. "Quite the party, eh?"

"Right, food... Hmm." There was a stand selling fresh fruit right outside the hotel's entrance. It was a bit pricey for him, he didn't have much to his name, but maybe he had enough for an apple at least. Blood took off his hat and took a peek inside. Sixty measley cents is all he saw. He groaned and eyed the vacationers and locals enjoying the delicious treats, then glanced at the fruit stand.
Behind the stand there was a tree loaded with fresh fruit. The owner of the fruit stand would walk back and pluck a fruit off the tree to give his customers. Blood brewed an idea. He tucked his hat on tightly, and dashed accross the sand towards the tree.
As he came within jumping distance of the tree, he leaped up and snatched a watermelon right off the branch in midair and hit the ground running with it. He ran to a nearby buffet to blend in with the diners. Blood was gone before the owner turned around to notice. He looked back at the stand and chuckled to himself, but while not watching where he was going, he tripped over something and tumbled a few feet onto the floor. When he looked up he found himself at the feet of two humans, who were apparently just chatting idly when he arrived.
"What? The floor is slippery here." He said, embarrassed. He was still clutching the watermelon tightly in his arms.

"Nice to meet you too Strangie." When Jay heard him say about different characters, Jay looked as well. "Yea, I've seen Boos, Yoshis, and a lot of other things, but I never saw that before." Jay said, mentioning that cat like character.
"This is my first time being here. I usually live on a island known as Dragon Island. Pretty cool place, if you like Dragons and Serpents that is..." Jay looked around some more. "Really dangerous if you stay in the forest or sea too long, then you're dead." Jay took another bite, finishing it up. "Hey, catch you later, I need to go to my room and drop off a few things. See ya." Jay turned around and walked back to his room.

I heard a familiar voice asking about the party and quickly turned my head so I wasn't facing the light blue Yoshi. The only thing that will give me away here is my spikes, I told myself. I didn't want to attract attention just yet; what if the off-islanders didn't want me around? I wouldn't be able to hear what they were saying. I impulsively took another drink of my smoothie. I simply couldn't ignore the fruity taste, it was so good. That ended up as an advantage, I realized, because I would have forgotten all about my drink in my efforts to listen, which was hard enough in a crowd of this size.

"Catch ya later," he said to Jay, tipping his visor to him as he walked off. He turned around and almost stepped on someone, but he caught himself in time, and looked down at the floor.
"Whoa! Hey, man, watch yourself," he said to the newcomer on the floor (Blood). He offered his hand to help the Yoshi stand up. "You might get stepped on if you're lying around like that, heh heh. Need a hand?"

"Aheh, yeah thanks." Blood took the short man's hand and pulled himself upright, dusting off his cap, while holding the watermelon under his right arm.
"The name's Blood. So, ah who might you be?" Blood extended his arm to shake hands with the new acquaintance, and smiled.

"Blood, eh?... you can just call me Strangie," he said, giving a hearty handshake to the new friend. "Quite the party we have at this island today, eh?" He gestured to the commotion around the two. "So far you're the second person I've had the honor of greeting, and the first Yoshi, most likely the first of many. I came a long way for this fair and it's great to see that the people here, local or foriegn, are so accomodating." He smiled at Blood, and said, "I'm assuming you're a local here, right?"

Blood chuckled roughly when he heard the word "Local."
"Hahahah, no actually, I've only been to this village a few times this year. I roam the island, plucking whatever I can eat and napping in beds of leaves and such. It feels strange to have my own hotel room, but hey, it's free." Blood held up the watermelon.
"See this? I got this from a nearby fruit stand, I didn't pay for it, though. I think it's ridiculous that Yoshis should have to pay for something as common on this island as sand is on the beaches. I mean, honestly, I find so much free fruit while I'm traveling, I could fill up the whole hotel tent over there!" Blood laughed again.
"But yeah, I'm not much of a village guy. I walk all over this island, I've seen everything from the meadows to the jungles to the dead lands to the dilapidated castles and fortresses in the east. It's a fun life, and I love it this way. Aheh, sorry though, I talk far too much. Where are you from, friend?"

"I see..." Strangie nodded slowly after Blood had finished his tale of fruit robbery. "Well... I hail all the way from Ice Land," Strangie said, pointing with his hand to the north. "It's cold up there, I don't think any resident on this island would last up there long, ha ha. This is a wonderful change in atmosphere, though... as much as I like the cold, a little warmth never killed us, eh?"
(We probably oughta slow down a bit to let some of the other RPers get some action in.)

(Righto, this'll be my last post for now, then) Blood nodded and smiled again. "Ah, wow. An Ice Climber? I've never met one of those before, I thought you were human. Very interesting. Well, all I can say is enjoy your time here! It's a wonderful place, I've seen every nook and cranny of it and I know it like the back of my cap. Have the best of fun." Blood half turned as if he had somewhere to go, but stopped. He looked back at Strangie.
"I really don't know what the heck it is I'm doing here, though. Huh, mind if I stick with you?"

Twi stood at the buffet table as more people flooded in, most recogniseable a boo with a hat and some sort of black floating cat freak type thing. "What the crap is that thing?" Twi thought to himself, before making his way to a nearby table to sit with his rather large plate of fruit. He looked around, seeing nothing really else of interest, the two humans had parted and the noseless one had made aquatences with the Yoshi he was behind in the queue for the hotel room.
He started to eat his fruit slowly, using his free hand, still holding his cape closed around his claw. He looked back at the buffet table at the floating cat who seemed always to grin uncontrolable, maybe he could say hello to him, but his people skills were rather lacking unless he was about to kill the guy he was meeting, so he decided to wait if he would come to him. He may have no pupils, but he knows what people do for free food, and Twi had plenty of it.
He bit into a banana without peeling it, he didn't know better, but it seemed fine to him. He kepted looking out of the corner of his eye at the floating cat, but without pupils, it looked like he was looking ahead.

While you were all getting yourselves ready, and socializing, yikes, the sun already passed the noon mark and is sinking! Everything is bathed in a soft orange glow, and the crowds seem to be thinning out around the buffet table, most of it concentrated around the entertainment area, where a special presentation seems to be preparing to begin.
Even though the sun is still up, the moon is quite visible, full, in the sky, glittering and silver and large, passing Yoshies making conversation remark on how large the moon looks tonight, and that it must be a good harvest omen. Dark clouds are brewing in the west, if you look in that direction, a possible storm, but no less than four days off.
Music from the aformentioned stage is starting to float by, it almost seems like the opening to a play, and to anyone looking in that direction, there seems to be plenty of room, as the stage itself is built at the base of a large, broad hill, perfect for an ampitheatre.

(Amazing how much you miss in one night)
Toshi was sat by a tree, eating a few apples that laid beside him, picking one up and chomping it down in only a few bites, taking a drink of his apple juice after each apple was eaten. He looked around the area at the vast crowd that had appeared that day, he wasn't suprised at the different races that had showed up. He noticed the change in the scenery around the buffet starting to change, the crowds slowly heading over towards the sound of music coming from the hill, "Seems like the play is about to start... may as well wander over there". He slowly gets to his feet, grabbing the few apples he had remaining, and started to wander over there on his own, eating them as he wandered slowly and casually towards the music...

"Step right up and try your chance at Catch a Fish! Catch a fish and whatever the number is how large the prize is!" A cyan yoshi shouted over the crowd with one of the scariest smiles Gem had ever seen. "I'll have a go at it!" She took one of the magnet fishing poles as he pressed a button and plastic fish of every color and expression swarmed out. Gem went for a green one with a silly lokking face. "And it's a... 3 out of 9!" The cyan yoshi handed over a decent sized rainbow koopa plush. "Gem the headed off the the buffet for some dinner. She noticed a floating cat thing what she reconized as a Moot. Their place wasn't far from this one. She also noticed a black yoshi with purple eyes and hair. She looked at the options at the buffet. "Urg, can't you yoshies ever eat meat. When I moved here, I was hoping to see some carnivorus fire breathing dragons or something." She just got a smootie and walked past the black yoshi with no pupils. That cape is hiding something, maybe a gun or some kind of weapon... Gem has a big fear of guns. She just walked around, sipping her smoothie untill music passed her ears. She couldn't help but follow where it was coming from.

"Sure thing, Blood. Things like this are more fun when you've got a friend, right?" Strangie said in reply to Blood's question. His head turned to where everyone else was headed, noticing some kind of event going on. "Hey, it looks like there's something going on over here. Let's go check it out, eh?" Strangie motioned to Blood to follow him as he headed off towards the direction of the stage.

Blood shrugged and followed Strangie, who seemed friendly and trustworthy enough. He grew impatient after a short while, Strangie wasn't walking very fast, and fast was something he liked to be. A glint appeared in Blood's eye, he grabbed Strangie, tossed him onto the back of his saddle and dashed off towards the stage, ferrying him on his back.
"Pardon me for my rudeness, friend," Blood said. "But you walk waaaaay too slow. "

"Wow, turns out its later than I thought it was. Here I am wasting my time here when theres a show going on..." Moot didn't even notice that some of the group he was in had already started moving towards a stage gearing up for a show. He'd barely had time introduce himself to anyone and already people were leaving, so he decided he'd at least try talking to somebody before everyone disappeared.
The red yoshi and passenger were already too far ahead to catch up with, so he turned his attention to the yoshi with the cape, who's eyes almost seemed to be glowing slightly with the change of light. He thought nothing of it, as his own bright yellow eyes were probably doing a similar thing. At least, thats what other people had told him. Moot thought briefly about what people would think about he must have looked like sticking out in the crowd like he did, as he was sure he'd already turned a few heads today.
Thinking nothing of it he drifted over to where the yoshi in the cape was, offered a half-hearted wave and started to introduce himself. "Uh, Hi. I'm Moot, new to this place. I'm here for the festival, I assume thats why you're here too? I mean, Not like I know what else goes on around here, only been here for a few hours myself..."

"What th-?!" Strangie was cut off by Blood as he got flipped over onto Blood's saddle and carried off. "Whoa, whoa, where's the fire? Hey, I can be fast when I want to be... oh well." He shrugged and let himself be taken to the stage, staying on the saddle.
And, lucky for Blood, Strangie doesn't weigh nearly as much as that fat sack of fat plumber does.
