The kingdoms that surrounded Saphoria were beginning to sandwich them in. Yoshee was troubled by this, and she could only hope that they wouldn't turn on her, hoping for more land.
Yoshee had picked out a head for the soldiers to train and inform them of battle tactics and weaponry. His name was Stiffbark, which seemed easy enough to remember, as well.
A defensive tactic seemed to be the only way to go, now, though. She had no way to go except...
Yoshee rubbed her eyes and checked the map again. It was true; no one was occupying Area Eighteen at the moment. I'll send a scouting party and see what happens, She decided. The kingdom would fail if its growth was stunted here while others expanded and gained power.

Namey and Louis stood on an small armored tower at region 31, looking out towards the west.
"Well, I guess we're not going that way," said Louis. Everyone seemed to be unaware of what Namey had REALLY done... but not for long.
"Yes, but not to worry, friend. I have talked to the troops, made some purchases and done some things that might enlighten you a little," Namey replied. "I have made sure everything is in place."
"Oh?"
"Yes... I also talked to Law about it, and... well..." he turned around, pointing at Law, who had possibly the biggest cheesiest grin you could possibly imagine on someone. He was walking towards the pair with Strangie tagging behind.
"The troops are ready!" Law said. "Now..." He walked to the edge of the tower, looking towards the west... ... then suddenly turned and pointed in dramatic, awesome fashion to the north, at Xenerex's capital.
"All forces! Drive through that city with all your might!" Troops were watching him from ground level. "Against the evil that threatens," Law stated, "We shall not fall!"
The four of them pumped their fists into the air, followed by the troops doing the same thing, and a loud "HOOAH!" rang through the crowd.
Big war? Understatement.

Ivan shouted out his concerns, "WHAT!? We can't just break our alliance like that! Xenerex has been a great aid! What has Lawilia done for us that Xenerex hasn't! what kind of ethics do you stand by my Lord?"
Yoshiken gave a long sigh, "yes, I know it seems unjust, but think of our situation. If we don't attack Xenerex's capital and create a new alliance with Lawilia, then we would be ultimately destroyed in the end. Lawilia would become so pressured to expand, that he could send huge forces at our small nation. Alressor could also take advantage of that scenario, and our capital, and Twi would increase in great strength. There doesn't seem to be a positive side for us in this alliance. Believe me, I wish there was another way, but I am responsible for the people in my nation, and I cannot let them lose any amount of hope. This must be done, and it must be done swiftly."
Ivan looked out into the rain storm that was engulfing the capital at the moment, "bloodshed and peace....I always thought they were different."
Dante burst into the room, "My king! Lawilia's forces are starting to march! I have prepared the necessary number of troops for the attack on all of Xenerex's neighboring cities! shall we attack now?"
Yoshiken looked at his sword and whispered to himself, "I am sorry old friend, please forgive me..."
Dante took a step forward, "Lord!?"
Yoshiken turned around quickly, "Advance the troops! quickly, we must not waste time!"

Ardonis spoke to himself, staring at the map laid out before him. "Sky is busy once again with political matters, Maldorir left during the night, reports say southernbound. I fear he may have defected to Xenerex, which will hurt us greatly. I know what I am asked to do, and yes, it seems logical, but is it really wise?"
Ardonis started counting the regions everyone owned on the map once more, "As I see it, we cannot allow ourselves to hold out like this eternally..."

Despite Enrique Rzlowieszczyk's orders, there was a small celebration in the national headquarters in Yinguredsath at the news of Mantasthia's victory against Cassapia; even Enrique himself smiled a little at this achievement. All the while, the workers in that building knew very well that Neuropa could be breathing down their necks.
Dhavidek Cieszek approached Enrique's office calmly. "There's a party going on in Dhalriyen's office."
Enrique laughed. "Tell him he can celebrate for today, but tomorrow, he's working on defenses in the newly acquired region, code-named Nineveh."
"For the moment, what do you think we should do?" Cieszek replied.
Enrique pondered for a minute. "For now... Fortify some more troops and supplies in Nineveh. Rebuild Transcitil for military purposes as well; we're going after Come next. There's no other way we can compete against all the other expanding nations."
"I'm on it, 'Rico," Cieszek responded.

Marched into Cassapian territory with little fighting; enemy forces retreated at the sight of Toxin Tractors, Coyote Cannons and Flashlights. No casualties.
A complete overhaul of the sector's infrastructure are already underway, with top priorities being irrigation, sewage and power. Assigning the contracts was easy, getting it done will be hard. There is a palpable air of hostility among the local populace, still loyal to the nation that abandoned them. Thus far we have only encountered passive resistance but we do not know when that will change.
The modest children come up to me and ask how we could do this to them. It would be easy to say progress and we do so, leaving them somewhat disatisfied.
The boldest children rush and accuse us of being heartless abominations. We shove mostly them to the side and carry on, although there are scattered reports of several soldiers simply bayoneting the aformentioned children. Perhaps the children are more right than they know. It's our hearts that betray us, makes us weep, makes us bury friends when we must be marching. It's the heart that sickens us and makes us hate who we are. We've made a bonfire of our hearts and set them aside forever. With that gone there's no reason for us to hold back. We can look on death itself and not tremble.
And if we refuse?
If we felt for every man we murdered, every life we broke in two, every slow and painful harvest we destroyed, every child whose future we stole, madness would soon wrap its fingers around our necks and lead us into the dark alleys where the waters are polluted and the birds are silent.

The sky was dark with war to the north. Yoshee turned to address Mercury and Warlord Stiffbark.
"General, the party sent to investigate Area Eighteen was not harmed... yet," Stiffbark reported.
"Good. Let's see what happens if we push out more. Cassapia seems to be no more, so let's use that to our advantage."
Mercury understood the message and hurried out the hall without a word. Stiffbark blinked, taking notice of the movement, but otherwise remained still and silent.

Appointed at the head of the attack on the capital of Xenerex was a silver-colored draconic Yoshi, decked out in platinum armor. A vassal of the dragon deity, Bahamut, and a fierce warrior otherwise, it was no surprise Talrath was to lead the Lawilian army into the capital.
"Don't stop now, my brothers!" He shouted, using his favored bastard sword weapon to help his fellow comrades strike down foes. "Smite evil where it stands! We shall not give in!"
Meanwhile, at the region just underneath the Xenerex capital, Strangie was busy feverishly working to keep the country well-defended enough against counter attacks. An attack from Saphoria seemed unlikely, though they did amass a great number of troops right next to Lawilia's borders, so he was playing it safe. He watched the battle in the north occasionally using a telescope.
"Looks like Xenerex might fall at this rate," he said. "I just hope Syllvace will pull through for us..."
Meanwhile again, Law and Namey were discussing the war at hand at the nation's capital.
"Namey!" Law exclaimed. "How did you manage to pull this off? You literally converted Syllvace to our side with merely talking... why aren't you our diplomat?"
"Haha, well..." Namey rubbed the back of his head with his fin a little. "It is perhaps Louis does not sense the evil coming from Xenerex, so he cannot advertise the reasoning for it like I could. I am not sure. That is why I went to Yoshiken firsthand."
"Well, no matter," Law stated, looking over a billboard map of the entire continent. "This is excellent. I see that you were right in saying this was the only way for us to succeed in expansion - otherwise we may have had to fight a terribly lopsided war. Make sure the troops are well armed and be prepared to tell Strangie to send reinforcements when necessary."
"You got it, captain."
Meanwhile, one more time... Louis was pondering over what he could do to occupy himself since Namey did the diplomacy for him already.
"Man, this sucks."
He busts out a paddle ball.

(I don't think you can go to 17 from 18 Yoshee, but if you can, then my move to 17 this turn never happened)
Yoshiken paced around a zone outside the field of battle, talking to himself, "am I again becoming the tyrant that so plagued me long ago. Have I created dishonor with myself? I had no other choice...I would of obviously been attacked by Lawilia if I didn't make this alliance with them, so it just had to be the right decision. I wish there was some way I could change fate...but I am only one person."
Zain and Vaidin rode in on 2 red horses, and greeted their Lord, "my king, the projectile units have been set, shall I commence with the long-range attack?"
Yoshiken brushed his hair back, "yes, give them everything we got!"
Dante came out of a tent, with a notebook in his hand, "Sir, I suggest we temporarily retreat our forces from region 39, to help build up a defense at region 30, just in case Twi manages to get his troops through our siege at 16."
Yoshiken grinned at Dante, and softly stated something to Dante that no one else understood. He backed up and replied, "yes, that is understandable, maybe bring some protection to 37 as well."
the king turned around and faced Zain and Vaidin, "are you two still here, you are supposed to be leading all long-range weaponry! move it!"
Zain and Vaidin moved out without even replying.
Dante spread his wings out, "im going too, I think the troops need a morale boost."
Yoshiken waved Dante farewell, and resumed the pacing he had done before.

The war room was in a state of emergancy as they were being attacked and had very little supplies. Twi stood still in the corner of the room with a face of pure hatred and anger. "Words cannot describe the hatred I am feeling right now. Syllvace are traitors of the highest order. I can to this place to show what it is like to have their world destoryed, but it seems their evil malicious ways means they didn't need my help."
Locusq came up to Twi. "Sire, Syllvace are pulling out of region 39 for regrouping, now's out chance to save!"
"Yes, they will pay. For now, we will baracade here and continue the push west for funds. Get some food rations and barricade the walls for our regions under attack!"
"Yes, sire."

Toshi and his remaining gang begin to flee for their lives, even though their capital is no more, their campagn isn't over yet.
"Man... we've been wiped out already, this literally sucks." Mosh turned to Toshi, who was strangely enough smiling whilst fleeing from the land
"Hey, why the happy smile?" Soshi looked at him with confusion, his cape flapping as he ran
"I just know that we're not down and out yet! We'll be back, and we'll become even stronger!"
With that, the gang of 6 fled over the green hills and away from their home region in search of a new place to set up.

"Start the operation." Sky stated to Ardonis from his throne room. It is time we go on the move, the area's safety is compromised, and now that we have enough funds to make a move, and still have more than enough to safeguard our backs, we can afford to."
"It was wise to wait, but what about the south? The three kingdoms are warring, Xenerex might not hold out forever, and when that is over, what of Syllvace and Lawilia after the war? We could mobilize to claim a few regions nearby to strengthen our position, but after that..."
"I know. I know." Sky slips his paw in his vest, producing a letter, sealed with Alressor's emblem. "You know what to do with this. Make sure it gets to its destination."
"Are you sure that is wise? I mean..."
"Go. Leave internal affairs to me while you're gone."
"...I understand the decision, but."
"Every person has a reason for an action, and believes it's the best action to take."
Ardonis looked at Sky, before slowly bowing his head, and taking his leave, yet, he can't help but to worry.

Riano Wladziek approached Enrique Rzlowieszczyk as if it was just another day in Yinguredsath. "So, master Rzlowieszczyk, what plans do you have for the time being?"
"Right now, it looks as if we should be invading Come to the north now," Enrique responded. "That piece of property is hindering our ability to expand."
Riano responded without hesitation. "No doubt. Anything you want me to do?"
"Yes. Tell Dhalriyen to invade Come from Transcitil," Enrique ordered. "Also, tell Dhavidek to get some more troops in Nineveh; we cannot afford to have something go horribly wrong and lose that area."
"Your wish is my command." Riano quickly exited Enrique's office.

Jonus grimaced as he reached back and gently shut the large gold-plated door behind him, a barely audible k-chnk sounding from the locks as he inched slightly forward, admiring the elegant decorations and feel of the soft carpet in Coordinator Lazo's office. The Coordinator himself was turned towards the large window that made the back of the room, most of Neuropa's capital city of Jopall visible; even from his position Jonus could see the casinos and brothels that contributed largely to what made Jopall a popular, if somewhat infamous, tourist destination.
"You requested me, Coordinator?"
The light blue Yoshi slowly nodded his head, the red spines reflecting bits of the waning sunlight around the room. Jonus had become used to this by now, but could not help but trace that Yoshi's irregular spine shape down the back of the head and neck every time he saw them.
"Take a seat." The Coordinator commanded. Jonus did so as Lazo turned to face him, the usual expresionless gaze on his face that he used to find downright creepy. "I know you think that you are here for your attitude in the meetings, but that matters little to me at this point. Allow me to cut to the chase."

Namey was freaking out all over the place after hearing word about the recent random happenings to Lawilia and nearby nations.
"Blessings from the gods!" he said. "They have blessed us and our allies with soldiers from the heavens and harvests that have been touched by holy light!" He jumped up and down all over the place, ecstatic. "This is a good omen! It must mean that the lands who have been blessed like this must band together and strike down evil!" He pointed at the billboard map, at the Xenerex capital. "The evil that plagues this continent, Xenerex!"
Law was also studying the map as he listened to Namey. "A message from the gods?... It appears Syllvace's alliance with us was in good timing. Unfortunately it seems we are stuck in our place - the only land we may directly attack is the Xenerex capital, and we are already doing that. So, we shall aid our allies instead, in hopes that they can stop this menace from taking over the northeast. Have Strangie send some forces and supplies to Syllvace in 30, and give him these instructions, which shall then be given to Syllvace." He handed Namey a paper note, who then tucked it away.
Law sighed a little. "Again, we have problems. We cannot continue our expansion until the Xenerex threat has been removed. We will then use their old cities, once the capital has been destroyed, as our own. Then... we'll take it from there."

The small gang of Cassapia had just sat down for a quick bite to eat using what they had remaining in they inventory. The travel to set up a new capital is going to be more tedious than they thought.
"It seems like we're not gonna get ourselves set back up, by the time we find a spot and rebuild, we won't have a big enough army created in time, we'll just get overrun again." Mishi picked up a piece of bread and popped it into his mouth
"There will be places available, as this war continues, someones capital will be destroyed, allowing more spaces to set up, don't worry at all." Toshi still seemed like he was happy that this happened.
"Toshi, your face is REALLY disturbing me now... we've just lost everything, but you're not even down about it" Seshi took a drink of water
"I know, i know, hehehe... hehe... hehehehehehe" The rest of the gang stare at him, quite disturbed at the obscure laugh he had made, "It's because i know that with the mistakes i have made, i'm able to come back harder and not make those mistakes again."
"Well thats great an' all, but that won't be possible until we actually find some land. We really should get out of here before someone spots us and tries to take us down while we're vulnerable." Mosh stands up and holds onto his Punisher, a double headed 2 handed axe.
"You have no courage don't you? Even if we do get spotted, we won't die! We have Toshi on our side!" Soshi jumps off the log that he was sitting on and punches the air
"Yeah... but it was because of Toshi that we're here, homeless, without a nation, our dream of a peaceful world shattered because Toshi didn't even THINK to buff up our capitals defenses." Toshi looked down at Mishi's comment as Kyshi had shot up out of her seating position, ready to slap Mishi it seems
"This ISN'T a dictatorship you know, you have a right to express your opinions to him! I'm no strategist, so i wasn't sure of how he was going about it, but for gods sake, you even said you had doubts about some of his orders!"
"Be quiet!" Mishi clenches his fist "I'm not a strategist either!" then Toshi stands up, looking over to Mishi
"Neither am i..." the gang stare at him blankly "... come on, let's go, we don't wanna hang around any longer do we?" With that, Toshi took his Zeco and strapped it to his back, and begins to walk onwards
"... let's go guys... seems like we better hold our chins up and pray for the best" Mosh chases up to Toshi and begins to walk beside him, the rest of the gang walking onwards, keeping a distance from the pack leader as they make their way over the steep green hills of the country...

Trapped again, The young leader noticed, according to the map Mercury had updated. He was doing a rather good job of it, Yoshee decided. She couldn't have found that many kingdoms on her own.
The wandering troops had been taken in with some celebration. In all this racing to expand, Yoshee had forgotten to make sure Saphoria's capital was secure. This little squad would definitely improve security.
She held the recent letter she had recieved in her hand and blinked at it in the afternoon light. But this time has arrived.
Mercury quietly opened the large door to the Hall and jogged up to his leader.
"It will take a few days, but I believe we can aid Lawlia with their 'crusade'," Yoshee said. "Make sure the reply letter is sent, and reinforce Area Eighteen."
Mercury merely nodded again and headed out. Yoshee knew Stiffbark was out making sure the new troops could handle Saphoria's somewhat primitive weapons. She looked proudly at the regions on the map; she had barely come into power and already Saphoria was advancing in technology and military ability.

Yoshiken was looking at the map in his tent, when Dante rushed in with a big smile. "my Lord, Lawilia has started a gift for us, and we have gained 6 troops and 4 food units!"
Yoshiken grinned, "It is all going according to plan, nothing will stop our victory. I also got word that we have recieved a bountiful harvest, this will greatly aid us."
(sorry, REALLY busy tonight, gotta keep this one short)
