"Yes," I growled, crossing my arms. "The sooner we leave, the sooner we stop this thing."
In reality, I didn't mind taking extremely long on an adventure, but I sure was itching to get out on the road. I didn't like spending more than one night in an inn, especially when we were supposed to be traveling.
I was a little disappointed that our small band was the only thing apparently trying to stop this, but hid my sadness behind an irritated mask. I was Yoshee. I wasn't allowed to stop and be sad.

I grabbed a piece of paper and wiped a gray spot on my mask. Then I answered to Red.yoshi's question. "Yup, I'm ready!"

Red looked towards the small speck on the horizon, and pointed to it. "That, I believe, is a source or the source for darkness which is engulfing the land little by little. We are on a journey to stop whatever and whoever is causing it." He started started stepping towards the town gates, then paused without turning around. "We don't know when we will come by another town. We may need to camp out from each night on. Everyone is ready, right?"

I let the Shy Guy walk in front of me and pushed past Red. "Yeah, yeah, just hurry up. Those demons give me the heebie-jeebies."
I could practically hear the road calling now. We needed to get going if we were ever going to stop this guy.

Red nodded, and went along, his halberd jostling from his back as he jogged.
It was about midday when red saw something in the distance on the barren grasslands. He put his hand up to his eyes to block out the sun, and thought he saw what looked like a feral turtle. "Do you two see that?" he asked as he pointed in the distance to the creature.

I had stayed behind Red, silently contemplating our situation. I fidgeted every now and then out of discomfort in the heat. I was more used to the amiable weather of my home island than the harsh sun of this place. The bright light hurt my eyes and the grass tickled my knees- quite uncomfortable, but I decided against complaining. We already had enough to worry about and I wasn't going to be the weak one in the group.
"Why, yes," I replied after Red's sudden question, and squinted at the speck Red was pointing at. "What is it?"

Red motioned to the others to get down a bit so they couldn't be spotted. He rested one of his hands on the sheath of his halberd. "I'm going to go take a look." He slowly crept up on the creature, wading through the grasses.

I didn't even think about "getting down". I mean, I was already drowned by the tall grass. I just watched Red quietly walk towards the dot. "I wonder if they have other species of dinosaurs on this island," I said aloud in a whisper. "That could be one..."

" Well why don't you get a close up look and see if it looks anything like me, or one of them, because I'm part Anthro. And I've always wondered what you have to hide behind that mask of yours..." Was it just him, or did that creature suddenly appear closer than before? The world was full of nasty surprises.
" And one of them is Saldon Bitterman, that's for sure." He murmured that aloud without even realizing it.
OOC: IF you don't know what an Anthro is, it is basically a yoshi with human traits* pointing out Renard's hair, voice, and maybe a part of his personality.* I got the idea off of a fanfic written by DarkMark.
As for Saldon Bitterman, he is a special kind of shapeshifter*if you haven't noticed quite a few hints I put in*.

Red silently gasped as the dot was no longer there, and behind him. He released his halberd out behind him. The creature twisted out of his hand and flung it across the grass as if it were a piece of scrap metal. Red spun around in fear, and saw what looked like a mutated Koopa-troopa. He lifted a rock and flung it at the beast, hitting it square in the eye. The creature grunted as it held its eye, slashing aimlessly with its free hand. Red quickly scampered in the direction of his halberd, sneaking out of vision in the tall grasses.

Red retrieved his halberd, and gripped it with all of his might as Mecha ran towards the mutated turtle. He slowly took a back approach to the beast, easing his way through the grass, careful not to make any noise what-so-ever. He quickly scanned the Troopa for weak spots.

I quickly gave it a punch to the head, but it didn't even flinch. It tail-swiped me, sending me flying. I got up, rubbing my injured arm, and thought to myself that it would have probably been better to use my mechanical arm for punching.
I decided then to cast a fire spell.

Silver pierced the air, and stopped as the Koopa grabbed the shaft of the halberd. Red was no longer shocked as he began running up the Koopa's back, twisting the hilt of the blade as he went, using his feet to grab the foe by the neck and spin him airborne. Red landed with his feet on top of the Koopa's back. He quickly hit the pressure parts on the koopa's back, which felt like steel. He managed to stun the creature, and quickly slipped the shaft of his halberd across its neck, pulling him back, choking him.
"Now Mecha!" Red said through gritted teeth as the Koopa began struggling and retaliating by ripping at his skin with its abnormal claws.

Red jumped from the Koopa as a ball of fire engulfed what was in its path quickly. Red felt a rage build inside of him. His eyes grew wide as the Wyvern landed in front of him, and began scratching and clawing at the mutated creature. Red leaped to the confused creature, thrusting his halberd near its stomach. He was taking the aggressive side of combat and dealing mass amounts of damage to the hard outer layer of skin on the beast. He could sense the creature was getting weaker as the Wyvern began dodging all of its slashes.

Red pulled his halberd back, and came down hard on the creature's neck. Red's power struck the creature unconscious, dead. Red slowly pulled the blade from the creature, panting. He knelt down beside the fallen beast, and began looting it for treasures, clues, or useful equipment to bring back to the group.
