Game Music.
And by game music I mean direct rips from old NES, SNES, and Gameboy ROM Images, which are in turn dumps of the actual cartridge games themselves. All the old little songs that games used to use back when they only had four channels with five potential instruments.
That, and epic movie-esque songs.

It changes. Almost seasonal, I think. Recently I've been listening to more game music, now that I have the soundtracks to such classic games as UN Squadron, Vortex, Axelay, Strike Gunner and Supernova.
Last year it was all about the classic rock. It's starting to shift back there again.

it really depends on the song. In a close match, I would have to say game music, though rock is also up there

Changes all the time. Could be rock and roll oldies/classical rock or Japanese pop. I like quite a bit of music -- mostly rock and roll oldies, game music, pop, or Japanese pop. There's probably a few other, obscure, categories.
I just don't like most of today's rock. A lot of the singers (mostly male) have voices that just RUIN it for me. Or the music makes me feel depressed (read: not the lyrics) for some odd reason. I usually don't bother to listen to the lyrics -- except in songs like "You're So Vain" and "Taxi".

I don't really have one particular type of music that I really like... Actually, I'll tolerate just about anything.

Doesn't really matter what kind of music it is, I'll listen to anything besides Hip Hop or R and B. Other than that, everything has a nice beat to it and catches me. I need some lyrics though, I can't flow with non lyric music to long. While music itself gets the emotion across, I need some type of words throughout it. Of course, I usually hope it to be a good poem transferred with a melody behind it. Like "My Little Box" All this merely is, is just a poem being read in a vocal tone with a melody playing behind it.
Epic music is good as well, going off music from movies and soundtracks. Music just seems to catch me better when it has a story or a setting behind it. It leaves me room to imagine the setting in which its placed, and give it a new feel to how my emotions take it. I suppose that the saying "Music is the universal language" is true. We all take it in diffrent forms, and in truth it can be based on culture or the area in which you live. If you live in a family, based souly off classical hits then you are bound to get stuck hearing them and falling into them.
Though we all have these diffrent views of music, and these diffrent ideas of whats best and whats not. You can't always help what you enjoy, because it usually is based off how you raised yourself. If you're one to play video games since you were a child, your bound to love the themes you remember dearly. If you've adored rockers since you were a child, and have grown, you're bound to love many forms of Rock itself. You choose what you'll fall into when you're younger, then again there are those who try to love something because everyone else does.

Hum, I like alternative rock, classical, and DDR songs. Sometimes a few OC remixes here and there. I listen to DDR songs the most, though I'm not sure if that would count as "Game" or "Dance" music. I just chose "Game" for the heckuvit.
