It should normally be in your program files. It is your default messenger. If you don't have it, you may have accidently erased it at one time (The only way you can replace it is to do a system restore to a date before you erased it. Of course, you must have already created a check point. If not, then I'm afraid it's irreplacable unless you install your Windows version again and save a back-up copy of your files in a CDR-W disc). It is runned as a program when you log on into the Internet.

Wait Anjil! If you return back to a check point, everything you instlled after it woill be gone. But you can always undo it by canceling it and return to your presence state. Go ahead and give it a try though.

Ok! This is my last resort, try this, go to start, then run and type down ipconfig, now you'll have a ip configuration. click the arrow and look for somthing rather than ppp adapter, now click release all, then renew all. if this doesnt work, then msn can die in hell.

Well Anjil Yoshi, obviously there is something wroing with your computer. Something is preventing you to make that connection. It could be a firewall, it could be Unstableness, it could be a corruption, or it could be that your connect is not compatible. There are many reasons. You have to find out what's preventing you to make a correct connection to your .net service.

When i do that, a window pops up for a split-second and then goes away. What's ip configuration do anyway?
It might be the firewall. I'll try and find out how to turn it off...

i'll try not to make it sound confusing, it controls how you connect to the internet, what your ip is and stuff like that. normally when msn starts messing up on me i use winipcfg(wich is the same as ipconfig) to refresh the internet, and usually it works and i can use msn again, but in this case it didnt. Ugh, i just don't understand why it isnt working. I had a firewall running plenty of times when using msn and it worked with it on.

I looked in the msn messenger's help section and it said a firewall may be why i can't connect. That's probably the problam in my case.

NO! there must be a solution!! i don't see why it wouldnt work. ok, lol this may have a slight chance at working but it might just do, instead of installing the LEVEL UP ! ! version of msn messenger, try installing the windows 98 version. It's crazy, but it just might work.
