Ooh...
On further poking around, it seems that the lead cause of this error is indeed firewalls (usually their presence, but in one case their abscence(?)), or perhaps, an anti-virus program (like Norton.)
Don't mind me, then...

Oh thank you, Fifth! I haven't gotten around to trying anything on tht help page yet, but i sure will!
I should really get to know my computer more. I don't even know what my virus scanner is:P
