Yoshi's Island: A New Tale

[Teo]

As I stood up and brushed the mud off my face, I looked in front of me, and a strange feeling rushed over me. I had just witnessed Twi picking up Yoshee and starting to carry her all the way to the moon. At once, my insides were boiling, ready to release a fire-blast, but unable to. I started jogging towards the moon, bag still on back, and mud still stuck, identifying this feeling that had come over me. What the hell is this?? That dark yoshi is picking her up and CARRYING her?? That...that's just... ARGH!! What am I feeling? I can feel a type of dominance ushering from his presence... yes... he feels better than others... in myself I feel a deep fury growing towards that yoshi. The mud may have been an accident, but it sparked my emotion. And now seeing this random yoshi carry this girl... That's almost insulting!! That's like saying 'you can't walk, so let me carry you!' And now I'm covered in mud while trying to solve a mystery! What are my feeling? I know now. Fury... Rage... Hatred... Insult...

Over my stay at yoshi's island, meditating and thinking, I have viewed my adrenaline and energy come to me in two ways. Determination and Fury, positive and negative. Right now, fury was overcoming me, and my legs regained their strength, my body shaking, ready for a sprint. It was still about a quarter mile or so till the moon, but I was much more than just capable. Instead, I calmed myself... I would arrive casually, a little muddy, but totally calm and hide my emotion. I started jogging the length of the way, Twi leading, but never out of my sight. Soon the smell of burn was in the air, and burnt brush was everywhere, until we had arrived at an open field where the giant moon was settled, having made itself cozy in a crater. Or at least it looked like an open field... it may have been forest a few minutes earlier.

I looked at the moon, but could careless about it. All I could think about... was Twi.

[Chilaquiles]

Blood turned as Twi, Yoshee, and Teo entered the area. Yoshee was, for some odd reason, slung over Twi's shoulder. And Teo was caked in mud. Blood pointed at Yoshee with his spear, and looked at Twi sarcastically.

"What, the girl can't walk on her own? Put her down you brute. Or are you two lovers or something?" Blood looked then to Teo. "Yikes, what happened to you, pal? That looks pretty nasty. You better get water on that before it dries and gets really hard to remove." Blood stared and three for a few more seconds, chuckled, and then turned back to the moon. He spoke to them with his back turned.

"There's not much to see here, guys. So, a moon crashed into the island. What else is there to say? I mean, yeah. It's weird, and probably has no scientific explanation at this point, but really, what are we going to do?" Blood leaned on his spear, examining the rock. Trying to look for something, anything unusual.

There was a decent sized crack on it...

[Teo]

Lovers... Ha... Twi just slung her over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes, fat chance of that. The red one spoke my very words... my very words... I never got to say them. Instinctively, a negative attitude was developping toward blood, but it quickly diminished as he turned to me and advised wetting myself to get the mud off. You can laugh now, but it did control my stance towards him.

"Long story, but anyhow, yeah, we should try to find out the basics about this moon. First off, we should gather what we know... well, a moon fell out of the sky AND the river was poisoned, so there's a connection... other than that, I'm stumped!"

[Twi]

Twi put down Yoshee. "Just trying to speed this thing up, no use hanging around and splitting up."

Twi looked at the moon and examined it closely. The crack was the main thing, though from an impact like that it should be shattered. Twi walked over and stood next the the rock still examining it. He tried putting his claw inside the crack, it only just fit and he curled up his claw and pulled a piece of the moon away. It wasn't too big of a chunk, about the size of a brick. He looked at it and there was little unusual.

"Whatd'ya think of this?" he said to the others, passing the rock to Blood.

[Chilaquiles]

Blood shrugged, "Speed things up, you say. Well, fast is always fine by me." Blood took the chunk from Twi and glanced at it.

"...I think it's a rock, that's what. But it is unusual, this crack. The whole moon is perfectly intact except for this crease here. Maybe there's something inside it?..." Blood dropped the peice of moon, and looked at the crack. "Do we even WANT to know what's inside it? I mean...What if..."

Blood raised his spear above his head and sent the point crashing down on the crack. To his surprise, it gave way. Quite a lot of way.

"What if this thing...is a sort of egg?" Blood looked back at Twi, then at Teo and Yoshee. "And if it IS an egg, what sort of beast could live inside? And if there IS a beast in there, would it be friendly or hostile?" There were a lot of questions to be answered. Blood still didn't know if it was really an egg, but it sure was weak like one.

"Maybe we'll just wait. In the meantime..." Blood looked at Teo again. "Let's get you cleaned up, yeah?"

[Not-Garr]

A tired, battered growl came from inside of the moon, "...Isn't any egg, you fools, it's a transport...bah!" with that, the crack burst wide open, chunks of the rock flying everywhere...and there stood a dragon, (Think of Gar), wearing a pair of red shoulderpads and a matching cape, looking rather battered and annoyed. He stood about 7 feet tall and a broadsword was strapped to his side...like some sort of knight, "...Crash landing, agh... ...What are you staring at?", he eyed them all curiously.

Vicks sighed as he came to a trotting stop, the path was blocked by many many vines and thorns, beautiful purple flowers sprouting all along the vines...which also choked the river, "...Hiryuu plant. It figures..." He turned to Strangie, Enrique, Toshi, and Jay, "Guys, don't touch this stuff, 'kay? It's highly toxic...must be what's poisoning the river... ...We have to clear it out, some way." he turned back to it, and tapped a foot, "...We need fire."

[Twi]

Twi eyes up the dragon that entered. He was the only person taller than Twi, being 6'6" yoshi there aren't many who are taller. This guy seemed about 7' tall, and how he fitted in the egg seemed beyond Twi.
However he just stared at the dragon with a curious eye, seemingly unimpressed.

"Smooth...crash a large meteoresque thing into a planet just to get here. Cause mass panic just to come here. Seriously you either have some transport issues or you have a gigantic ego. Whatever, this wasn't that much of a fun trip just to find you, I'm just gonna go find the others. Maybe they'll have more fun."

With this, Twi left the way he came and disappeared into the distance, back to the river.

[Toshi]

Toshi was looking at the plant, he had seen such thing before, but never did he hear about them sprouting locally. As he heard the word fire, he turned to Vicks with a confused look upon his face "... and where do you think we're gonna get the fire from? Your backpack..." Toshi sarcastically exclaimed, he examined the vines carefully, being careful not to touch the stuff as Vicks did say it was toxic. he took a step back, and turned to the small group, "... so where would we get this fire source?"

[Strangie]

"A fire?" Strangie started. "I don't think I've got any of that. Uh..." He glanced around at his group, scratching the back of his head. "None of you guys would happen to have a light, would ya?" He sighed a little, probably figuring the answer to that question would be no. "Well, I've got no fire, so I'm not going to be of any help here, at least for now. I'm gonna head back to our moon squad and see how they're holding up. Maybe they've got some fire."

With that, Strangie started going back the way they came. He had a rather good sense of direction - travelling by himself all those years gave him some decent survival skills, even if he was more used to the frostfell than the tropics. He came across Twi on the way. "Oh great." Strangie thought, "Wonder what he found at the moon place..."

[Twi]

Twi walked towards the village group and saw the small human come towards.

"Unless you want to see some idiot who decided to crash a meteor into a island just to enter the place, that way is pointless, really. I'm going to the village people to see what's going on, and I don't mean those crappy YMCA singers."

He started to walk off again, pretty bored of the whole thing now, nothing exciting except the purple water.

[Strangie]

Strangie watched as Twi spoke, then replied, "Well, you're not finding anything that way either. There's plants down there blocking the path and they're highly poisonous, according to Vicks. Unless you've got some fire you won't make much progress... and yes, I do want to see the meteor, because apparently that's what the moon was, if I'm correct. And I DO want to see this guy, because - as I originally pointed out - the "moon" and the river problem might actually be linked somehow, and you didn't bother saying anything about that to the guy, did you?" Strangie sighed a little, and continued. "Whatever, I'll see what this guy is all about then."

With that, he hurried past Twi and continued on his way back to the moon inspector squad to see what their findings were. Hopefully he could piece the whole thing together and get this mess over with. He wondered about this meteor man, though... hopefully he wasn't hostile, but since Twi came back with no hurry, he figured the new guy wasn't. Still, he had to wonder...

[Chilaquiles]

"Woah, snap!" Blood looked at the massive dragon before him, who didn't seem to be hostile. He raised a hand in greeting, aiming his spear point down towards the soil so that he wouldn't raise any alarm. "Excuse our companion, there. Or, I should say, our burden. Companion doesn't quite fit the description..." Blood turned and could still see Twi walking away from the scene, cross as always. He looked back at this newcomer and got right down to business.

"Who are you? And have you anything to do with the poisoning of the water supply here?"

[Enrique]

Enrique gazed at the plant that Vicks just warned the "village-salvaging" group about concerning its toxicity. Following orders, he even started backing away from the plant. He quickly replied to the call for fire; unfortunately, he had to bring bad news. "Sorry, I don't have any flint or other fire-making instruments on me." It wasn't like he could suddenly go home and grab a small propane tank, a Bunsen burner, and a book of kitchen matches either. He could only observe the pupil-lacking Yoshi decide to join the village-saving squad and the human check on the moon situation; other than that, Enrique was rather useless at the moment.

[Not-Garr]

The dragon shook his head confusedly, and addressed Blood, "...I'm... ...I'm... ...I'm... ..."he held his head, and shook it again, "I don't remember... ...Poisoned water?!...I hope i don't get thirsty!" his eyes widened a bit, and he looked around at the group, and at the departing Twi, growling a bit. He innately didn't like that Yoshi at all, and it definately showed.

Vicks nodded to Strangie as he walked off, and eyed Twi as he approached, "What, fallin' rocks not excitin' enough for 'ya, Yer Majesty?" he rolled his eyes, noticing the bored look in Twi's eyes, "Unless 'ya got somethin' ta' make fire, we ain't gonna un-poison this river anytime soon..."

[Strangie]

Strangie walked into the area with Blood, Teo, Yoshee, and this dragon fella. Holy hell, he was friggin' tall! At least compared to Strangie. Strangie stood at only 5 feet high, while this guy was 7 feet, close to one and a half times Strangie's height. Certainly an imposing figure, but Strangie approached nevertheless. Since he was a dragon, this guy might have the means to help the team reach their goal. He cleared his throat, looked up at the dragon and said...

"Hello there. I suppose you came via that giant rock, eh? Listen, we've got a bit of a problem. The river water is apparently what the people here use to make their fruit, but the water has been poisoned, and thus, many denizens of this island have also been poisoned. They will die in a matter of days if something is not done. Me and some of my comrades were heading up that river to try and find the source," he said, pointing to it and the direction of Vicks and co., "but we've been cut off by what we believe is a highly poisonous plant, what was it called... the Hiryuu plant? Yeah, that. We also believe that plant is what is poisoning the river. It's been suggested that we can cut through with fire, but sadly, none of us possess the means to make fire. Would you be able to help us out?"

He hoped that the dragon stereotype was true with this creature, and that it could breathe fire or something. He wasn't sure, though... certainly looked like a warrior type, however. He wondered what part of the universe this creature hailed from, but now wasn't the time to be asking such questions. Fixing the river poison problem was paramount.

[Lord of the Dance]

Before I could react at all, I was hurled over Twi's back and brought to the rock. Very embarassed, I decided to say nothing and just let him bring me there. Besides, getting bumped around over his shoulder knocked the wind out of me, so I couldn't talk even if I wanted to.
I regained my breath by the time the dragon emerged from the "egg". He had seemed intimidating at first, but now he just looked... lost.
After being questioned from both Blood and Strangie, I decided to let him catch his breath before asking my own. I could tell he had already decided he didn't like Twi; I had no problem with that, personally. I wondered why Twi didn't seem to even want any friends, zoning out a little. I kept my ears on the conversation, and made sure I wasn't getting left behind. I didn't want to completely overload the dragon with questions, either.

[Teo]

"Well this has been quite an exciting day!" I said, as Strangie finished speaking and turned towards the dragon. "Well, before you do anything else, I'd first like to say, Welcome to Earth! Or more specifically, Yoshi's Island. If it wasn't for poisoned water, you would probably like it here..." a thought just sparked in my mind, and I looked down at my still drenched-in-mud self. "...and if only I had a more suitable appearance. I don't know if you have mud where you come from, but it's sticky..." if anything, I had to show we were on good terms with the dragon, even make him laugh a little. "...You can apparently understand us, and we can understand what you're saying, yet you claim to have come here on a ship. I'm going to have to ask you about that later, but in the mean time, enjoy your stay...as much as you can... if there is going to be anywhere to stay at. That poison sounds like it's going to be doing some harm to the place..."

[Twi]

Twi walked up to the village group looking at a bunch of plants Twi recognises.

"If you're taking care of the plants, you don't need fire. These things are common from where I come from, and if you know what you're doing, they're harmless. By the way if you want to see some dragon, go to the "moon". My method for these plants is time consuming though. Fire would help, but not as if it's anywhere near. And Vicks, I don't take kindly to patronising. I'm bored of this because I've been in worse situations and frankly it doesn't interest me. Find a lighter or something."

Twi stood a good distance from the group, still in the phase of not liking anyone, especially Vicks.

[Not-Garr]

The dragon stared blankly at Teo, "...Earth, I know...a ship?...Is that's what this meteor is?...Oooohh..." he held his head for a moment, before looking back to Strangie, "Hiryuu... ...I can help, yeah, I'm remembering... ...I know where...we have Hiryuu a lot back home, yeah, it heals dragons, but poisons everything else..." he nodded, "I'm...I'm...!! I'm Gar, yeah! That's my name!"

Vicks rolled his eyes, "Get off yer high horse, ya' don't have a way to remove these plants, 'ya jus' want us ta' leave ya' behind so 'ya can run off or somethin'... ...A dragon y'say? Well, there we go! Go get 'im! With 'is help, we can clear these plants away in a cinch."

[Twi]

"You just can't accept it can you, you ever wondered what this is for?" He holds up his claw and walks over to the plant and grabs it a swipes it up in a swift movement.
"There. Seeing as there is not possible way to get the poison into my bloodstream because I used my mutation, I'm fine, hence the time consuming part. Now if you'll excuse me I'll get that bloody dragon for you."

He walked away, getting even angrier at Vicks for underestimating Twi's knowledge. He walked quite fast to get the dragon as fast as possible. He made his way back to the dragon and the meteor group.

"Mister "Leader" of this whole thing wants to see you, follow me." With that Twi is off again back to the village group.
