The citizens of Saphoria seemed to take the news of its shift to Neuropean property rather well, Yoshee noted. Their advanced technology and differing culture would take some definite getting used to, though. It seemed bright days were ahead, no matter how unexpected the situation. Bear was out of a job right as he came in, but Yoshee kept him around for some advisement if need be. Mercury was her personal messenger as she wasn't quite the ruler any more. He was definitely looking more "toned" since she hired him, what with all the running around he did. Yoshee's map was definitely more filled in now, with the jump in intelligence and technology. There would be a lot of change happening in the old Saphorian capital in the very near future, that was for sure.

"Sire it's been a few days of seiges and we're running out of food, what are your orders? We can't hold out forever!"
"It's ok, we may have run out of food but we have a huge amount of income now. We can't attack Neuropa now they're too strong. We'll just keep the barricade there. But Lawilia's time has come! Train troops and buy food for the fight back!" ---------- Actions:
Purchase 11 food (£3300) and 11 Troops (£4400) Put 5 food in region 4. Put 6 food and 11 troops in region 34. (13 troops and 6 food now) Stop barricade and fight back ---------- LOG

All that Palikir Dhalriyen could do was to wait out the Comian barricade to take the region. Come was hindering Mantasthia's best chances of expansion; a war with Neuropa was way too close for comfort for Dhalriyen to imagine.
The only thing that the national headquarters could do now was to put its defenses in Nineveh "on steroids," hoping that this will discourage Lazo from attacking Mantasthia.

Yoshiken lunged his kendo stick forward, towards Dante's lower chest. Dante flipped his bowstaff around to parry it, but as he did so, Yoshiken quickly pulled his kendo stick back and rotated it quickly to slash at Dante's ribs. Dante was struck down with a direct hit.
Dante pulled himself up and brushed himself off, "pretty nice maneuver my Lord, your abilities are swift and accurate."
Yoshiken wiped off any unwanted marks on his kendo stick that he gained from the training. "How many times do I have to tell you, just call me Yoshiken."
Dante put his Bowstaff in a special strap he had constructed himself, "whatever you say Yoshiken, just don't strike so hard next time."
Yoshiken changed the subject to matters he thought were more significant, "so, did you order the supplies like I insisted?"
"Yes, the troops should not have any reason to be hungry for quite a while," replied Dante.
Yoshiken walked away from the training grounds, towards the castle garden, "good, lets keep it that way."

"Where is he... it's daybreak and time for the news..." Just then, the door burst open, Jad coming in, appearing pretty stiff.
"Good morning sir," he said calmly, but his face betraying him. "The news today... You maintain 6 day's ration here in your capital, 1 in your new, un-named region along with 3 units there and 1 here. We are still under siege, but it is being well maintained. We have more income to purchase more food than the enemy has power to take us. Worries come in if any neighboring countries were to attack."
"Yes, I've been thinking... We're the only thing keeping Enrique in the south from expanding, but at the same time, we're the only thing keeping Lazo from expanding in the north. Come may be weak, but if it were to fall..."
"Pardon, but a letter has arrived from Enrique."
"Let me see that..." Belzebuth reads over the letter silently, constantly aware of Jad's presence. "Get this, he says he'll stop attacking come if we help him win region 13! Our small troops would have to siege 7 and 14 before even GETTING to 13, let alone win! And I thought he was the smart one. Nonetheless, I am tired of Enrique's siege, and I have a battle plan... Get me an emissary. I have a letter for Lazo with a hard to refuse offer. Enrique is going down."

The capital building of Neuropa's federal government was in chaos as new additions were made, cancelled, and made again as new and often contradictory claims and data flooded its intelligence agencies, strained to the limit with trying to integrate with Saphorian forces while at the same time maintaining their expected performances of excellence. No rest. No mercy. No matter what. They idea of intelligence being of paramount importance and been drilled into even the lowliest of privates from the first day of basic training, an idea that was not lost on them even now, as a unified groan followed the realization of their latest batch of orders.
Now they were in charge of also digging up information for the propaganda machine.

"He thinks he's so damn clever," Law said, looking at the map. "We'll see about that."
"Wow, look at how much Neuropa has taken over now," Strangie said, indicating the new Neuropa regions acquired from Saphoria. "They're definitely the dominant power now. I don't think it will be long before they have the entire map under their influence. And where does that leave us? Right now we're the smallest nation in the east, we're totally screwed."
Namey stepped in, commenting. "Not completely... things may work out for us. Look here." He pointed at some of the regions Neuropa took from Xenerex in the northwest. "Right now, I believe the fate of our nation falls in the hands of an unlikely ally. We are too small to be able to control our own fate at this time. It is unfortunate we have to rely on others, but alas, without doing so our nation would not be here today."
Namey began packing some things into a backpack - his holy platinum snowflake symbol, and a book with the symbol of Bahamut on the front cover, among some other things necessary for travel.
"What are you doing?" asked Law.
"Negotiations. Since our diplomat hasn't returned, I've taken it upon myself to stand in for him." He started leaving. "I'll be back in a few days. May our gods watch over our country," and stepped out the door.
Meanwhile, Louis was finally coming home from his own war with Saphoria. He remembered in precise detail how he had slain one of the top Saphorian military leaders by his own dagger. It was a fierce battle, but after Saphoria had given up to Neuropa, it didn't seem like it was worth anything, and picking a fight with Neuropa wasn't an option. Thus, he was finally headed home. Perhaps there may be something to gain from this war...

Dante and Yoshiken were sitting on opposite sides of a table with a map that was accurate in both size and proportions. Dante used a protractor to draw a line from one region to another. "and here, the 107th calvary unit can advance over the mountain range, and help bring supplies to the troops there."
Yoshiken pointed to another portion of the map to the east. "What about our front lines, Lawilia has barricaded itself behind city walls, and with the organization they have there, it is not likely that we will break the wall down at any point in time. Our current tactics aren't penetrating anything, and in order to make any advance, we need to directly attack on all fronts."
Dante moved his pen to another location, "then it is decided, lets build up our forces and move forward in all areas where we have kept back a direct charge."
Yoshiken pulled out a small dagger and stuck it into the spot where the capital of Lawilia rested upon. "Syllvace will gain victory!"

Enrique Rzlowieszczyk was starting to get annoyed with Come. Not only was the nation to the north resisting Mantasthia's advancements, but Theodore Belsebuth was allegedly planning a treaty with Neuropa to annihilate Mantasthia, according to propaganda coming out of Transcitil.
However, the most annoying fact of all was that there was nowhere left to go to have a legitimate chance to attack other than the Comain capital. Disappointed, Enrique continued ordering the assault on Theodore's defenses. "They have to break sometime soon..."

The Coordinater mulled over a pile of letters on his desk as he spun his chair around and gazed down at the capital city before him, the bright neon lights advertising various casinos, brothels, bars and other places of ill-repute began to turn on as the sun set in the distance, partially obscured by skyscrapers and casting a golden light on the windows of corporate buildings.
He leaned back in his chair, fingers drumming against each other as the metal squeaked, his thoughts turning to an old friend and an equally old alliance, going over that situation point by point as the integration with Saphoria continued to proceed, so far without incident.

"What should I say? 'Sorry, we couldn't win anyways?'" Yoshee protested, leaning against the wall of the Main Hall of the old Saphorian castle. "It's not like you can just leave without saying anything," Bear replied. "But I can't get a real feel for what the country's like by just sending Mercury out and getting him to tell me all about it," Yoshee argued. Mercury stood at attention, saying nothing. Just like the rest of the people, Yoshee thought. They never complained, never said anything. Just did what they were told. It reminded her of an old game she had played once, called Lemmings or something. To be frank, it annoyed her a lot. Casting a thoughtful glance at the white-blue Yoshi, the former ruler addressed Bear again. "You know, I don't think they'd hardly notice if I left for a few days to look around. Besides, I haven't been out of the castle in weeks. I need a bit of excersize," She stretched, and then sighed. "Of course, I'll need someone with me... It's not very fun to travel alone." Bear snorted. "Take Mercury." That almost got a laugh out of Yoshee. She would have shown more of her enjoyment out of that had Mercury not been present. "Come on, I need to see the country I live in, at least. See how the 'integration' of our troops is coming." "Oh, fine."

"World news tonight!! Dictator Enrique-" Nice touch "- has held his siege too long and will be stopped, says Theodore. Lead story, The kingdom of Come has been under siege since nearly its founding with the nation in the south, led by dictator Enrique, hell bent on destroying Come. Theodore's reaction is of the highest suprise to the people, but it appeared to what Theodore said, to be what was needed to save the city. Details after the break."
Theodore was sitting in his chair, grinning, Jad taking up a chair beside him, no longer as his servant, but more as an equal, as they may have to get used to the lifestyle. Theodore got up and looked out the palace's windows. The city was interestingly built, made from a valley. It had water running through the center, and buildings lining the walls. It may have been easily over run, had there not been natural defences around the area, including marshes, quick sand, and rivers, all in their own areas... it was quite a sight, but Theodore was leaving it, reflecting on it one last time. Then the news came back on, faster than he expected, and he sat down again.
"Yesterday, Emperor Theodore-" Just... Theodore, I'm no Emperor. "- had sent an emissary with a critical message to Neuropa, the largest region on the continent, led by the mighty, if hard-hearted, Lazo." Reporters... "Here is Theodore himself, speaking on the issue." The camera actually FADED to reveal Theodore, on a podium, microphones in front of him, flashes going off. On the screen, he seemed to take a breath... ready to recite a story to what would be children.
"Yesterday... only just yesterday... I had realized our hard situation. to the south, was the aggressive Enrique, having relentlessly sieged the capital for nine days, nine days of which the city stood at a standstill, people fearing to leave, troops fighting relentlessly on defense. Was his war justified? NO! I hear he has discovered an amazing source of energy, and out of fear of destruction, attempts to destroy OTHER nations! Is such a war justified?... no. But, alas, even as we speak we are not only surrounded by Enrique to the south, draining our economy, but there is also Neuropa to the North, the strongest nation on the continent, an undefeatable foe. So what was the best decision? One that may have suprised both sides. An alliance to our attacker would be like a weak plea for mercy, and met with firepower. To ask an alliance from the North would almost be suicidal - I hate to admit it, but they are stronger and more developed nations, capable of defeating any of our cities. There seemed to be no exit, but I found one...
"Our kingdom has completely united with Neuropa, we are now one nation. No blood was shed, nothing lost-" Except my leadership "-and perhaps best of all, REVENGE on the SOUTH!! For too long have they sieged us, and for too long has Enrique failed to realize that his greatest enemy is just north of us, blocked by us to provide a living wall! Well, now that wall has collapsed, by his own hammering! Enrique will now have to face the wrath of Neuropa, an incredibly greater threat than anything our military could have provided!! WE MAY NOT BE CALLED COME, BUT WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!"
Both Jad and Teo grinned. It had been an interesting manoever. Teo had just condemned his enemy to remain sealed behind walls. Teo estimated that Enrique could probably hold a barricade on two regions, using two others to supply food, but he was out of the game.
GAME ACTION
Region 8 (Come): 1 troop, 5 food (4 at turn end) BARRICADED Region 6: 3 troops, 1 food. Income of 2300.
~~~RP~~~
These regions, accompanied by troops, food, and all income, is now under the rule of Lazo of Neuropa. We the people, in order to form a greater union, establish peace and tranquility, provide healthcare and safety, provide for those in need, and secure life and liberty to our children, do establish this constitution for the United Nations of Neuropa.
Theodore Belzebuth
"Think anyone'll notice, Jad?"
"Nah, you know no one here's heard it."
"Good."
"*ahem*"
"Grrr... after all this and..."
"Well, we did agree."
"Fine," Theodore said, disgruntled. He opened his locket which revealed a diamond, about the size of a walnut. "Mom did say I could have it if I ruled the world..."
"And she said I'd have it if you screwed up," Jad said, grinning.
Description of "Educational" video on the subject of Twilight Xenerex Corroptus, leader of Xenerex. Aired worldwide by the PBC (Phantine Broadcast Consortium).
The first scene fades in with a group of children playing around in a flowery field, wearing a different assortment of clothing styles as they frolic and play, skipping, giggling, occasionally laughing out loud. Some of the boys are throwing gliders, some of the girls are pushing a hoop along the flowers with a stick. The scene lingers for several seconds before a dark purple shadow begins creeping in from the right, the camera zooming in on the line as it creeps across the field, the flowers wilting and collapsing under the weight of their flaking leaves as the shadow advances on the children, for some time unaware.
One of the boys throws a glider in the direction of the approaching haze, which bursts into flames the moment it crosses the line and within two seconds disappears into dust, the children shrieking and backing away as they finally take note of the approaching darkness and wasteland left in its wake. The approaching haze races towards the children as its noticed, the line curving and forming a large black arc, then crescent, against the a purple residue as the image freezes, replaced by an oil panting of the same scene.
A translucent image of a penguin is projected over the painting, donning armor as well as a pendant around his neck, “Don’t let the darkness touch them!” he warns, "The future of your children, yourselves, your countrymen, and everything you hold dear to you are at stake. By letting Xenerex continue to roam free, you are not providing a safe future for your people. Do not allow the evil that threatens to corrupt this once-pure continent! Take up arms with your fellow man and join against the fight against the corruption that is Xenerex!"
At three different points three commanders stood, staring with their own personal variations of ire into the lands corrupted by foreign temptations: The venerable Lord General Militant facing East atop the hood of a Toxin Tractor, his lips peeling back into his token grimace through the advancing columns, determined to put a permanent end to their nefarious treachery. Lord-Marshall Isenhaur, among the most staunch and uncompromising of soldiers, staring towards the lands of the South, keeping a calm and determined position in the face of the thundering torrent and barely understood killing machines of the technologically advanced. Slithering through the North an enigmatic Captain-General of the name Corsica, whose fascination with the changes of natural life and complete apathy for the morals preached by others had her tactics and tendencies not incomparable to the very darkness she was sent to fight, consolidated her forces around the enemy’s stronghold – a sinister secondary objective of capturing and running experiments on the mutants in the service of the enemy.
At the time determined by the Coordinator of Neuropa each of the three gave the simultaneous commands to attack, the armies marched forward without a single word; silence far more eerie than any battle cry could ever hope to be.
Law was looking over a letter the team had recieved. Louis had returned from the south, along with extra supplies from Neuropa. Strangie was looking over a report he had recieved on the status of the other nations.
Strangie read and re-read a certain part of the report, the one concerning Namey's sudden popularity in Neuropa. "Guys...? You... you better take a look at this."
He showed the report to Law and Louis. In it, it was documented that Namey of Lawilia was successfully preaching to those in Neuropa, driving them to the battle. It seemed they had enacted a war with Mantasthia, which was believed to be doomed to suffer the same fate as Saphoria and Come, and Syllvace, the traitorous turncoats to the north.
"Well, I'll be damned..." said Louis. "When did he leave?"
"Just yesterday," Law stated. "At least he didn't defect. I was expecting him to just do some peaceful negotiating with Neuropa to make sure they don't overrun, but this...?" He looked over the report. "This beats all, really." He walked out to the castle balcony, looking out at the night sky.
"What is it, Law?" Strangie asked.
"If this report is true, then Namey possibly may have just been the deciding factor in the fate of the entire continent," he replied. "Perhaps we may not rise to the top on this continent, but judging from how things are going... what we're looking at may be better than any other possible outcome at this point."
"Hey, what's that?" Louis said, pointing at the letter Law had originally been reading.
"Oh... that. Well... it seems we were propositioned. But it is far too late now to start even considering it..." He rolled up the letter and stuffed it into his coat. "We're too far in now. All we can do is hold our position, and hope we're not overrun by the north. Right now, our small, religious friend probably has more power and influence than anybody standing here in this keep tonight."
Law closed his eyes, his head tilted towards the starry sky, and folded his hands behind his back. "Be careful out there, Namey. The world has shown that it can be extremely unkind, cruel, and unforgiving... I only hope your faith is strong enough to protect you in these dark times, and that you find the light for us all at the end of this struggle..." --- GAME ACTIONS Purchase 3 food, 3 troop for 2100 gold. Theodore and Jad watched from their ex-capital's palace. Since Lazo's takeover, there had been an unnatural drought and the swamp land had dried up, becoming hard and crispy, in addition to the river growing smaller and the quick sand vanishing mysteriously. It would take a lot more to defend such a city now, although it looked less and less like the city Theodore had envisioned... less and less like the one he had before. There was some sort of doubt in his mind. Have I made the right choice? I ruled some sort of a Utopia, but I had to fidget it away thanks to Enrique. God I hope Lazo does get around to crushing him.
"Teo?" Called Jad, just behind him. No one had called him Teo for quite a long time. As a ruler, he was known as Theodore, but now he was more of an advisor. Anyways... "It's time for you to make your report to Lazo, you accepted the terms."
"Yeah, I know... Probably a good thing I get to it. Sigh..."
Theodore's ruling office had changed too. Pictures of Lazo were on the wall, and he wouldn't be suprised if one of them turned out to have eyes with a camera or if there was a chip somewhere. He just didn't feel safe. The question came up again, Had he Made the right choice? Although Lazo had agreed to take out Enrique, would he do it? Teo started watching what he thought - he wouldn't be suprised if Lazo had put a mind reading device in the room. He picked up his pen and started writing.
Lazo...
Theodore stopped, wondering if Lazo had any titles such as Sir, Mister, King, or Emperor, President, or whatnot. He just went on.
Lazo,
As it is my duty to keep watch of the western portion of your kingdom, I have provided in this letter, information of troop movement, food stores, and population happiness.
Region 13 has amassed enough troops for a proper invasion of Enrique's region 12, but region 12 has twenty troops against your twenty one, and Enrique has enough income to quickly replenish his supply if it is to lose its spice, up to 20 food if barricading is needed.
Region 8, Come, is still under siege, facing 5 attackers, but barricading will work for 4 more days before the region ceases to function and must surrender. If that is allowed, Enrique will be able to generate an extra 500 income and resist you by having 3 regions providing food and 2 barricading. Again, his income is what is most worriesome, as he may be able at any time to purchase a suddenly large supply of troops. The city will hold, but get around to countering. The best way to counter would be to use troops to bounce the attackers while simultaneously attacking region 9. The loses will be somewhat high, but it will force him into defensive faster, and the troops attacking region 8 will quickly cease.
You are doing excellently between sector 15 and Yoshiken's 17. If that region falls, Xenerex will most likely fall next.
Speaking of Xenerex, his region 4 is going to last awhile. It doesn't need to fall immedietaly if you can take over Yoshiken's 17.
As far as my emissary's have reported, population is stirred and moved by your propaganda efforts. They will most likely approve anything you try to pass and listen to anything you have to say. The only worry is in Region 6 and Come in Region 8, which some are reluctant to accept your rule. A few riots have stirred. If you gun them down, the region will be yours under fear, but if you might give them a personal visit, perhaps they will grow more accustomed to you?
Regardless, aside from Come which is still under siege, nothing is threatening your rule, aside from Enrique and his greatly amassed income and troops.
Of course, if you take region 9 first, region 12 will be split from the others, and both region 10 and 11 will be siegable, shrinking Enrique to a crippling waste.
Your advisor, Theodore Belzebuth
"Crippling waste... like he did to me!!"
Game actions Under the rule of Lazo of Neuropa.
"How can Neuropa seriously believe he's being threatened by me? What a retard! It controls half this bloody continent and it's saying I will hurt their children. You know what I do want to hurt the continants children. If I can fight back I'll make a soup out of their blood!"
Twi angryly walked around the war room and slammed his hand on the table. His small forces were no match for anything at the moment, even with this letter.
"How can Alressor even consider there to be a working together here. Lawilia is meerly using Neuropa to win their losing battle! There can be no working together here, we are all alone. It is now ever country for itself and there's no way to stop it."
Twi rips up the letter and throws it into a nearby bin.
"And with the backstabbing from Syllvace I cannot trust anyone. A team like this would just make matter worse. I'm considerably screwed in the west as Lazo makes his push, we will have to just barricade the region. The Lawilia battle is going well, but we need more troops in there. Lawilia are the gloating type, if Neuropa beat us, they will think they are better. I hope Syllvace takes them down faster, this is getting bad."
With that Twi gave a nod to Vehementa, who was standing in the corner. Vehementa left and ran up the stairs to outside. ---------- Game Actions
Purchase 5 troops (£2000) Place all at Region 34 --------- END TURN
Many sophisticated officials were sitting down in a large assembly hall. All holders of political offices in the nation were present at this assembly. In the back of the room was a projector, that showed a large image of a current map of the continent. A figure walked up to the stage in the front where the large image was being shown. The figure was none other than Yoshiken, the king of Syllvace.
Yoshiken grabbed a long rod, and pointed at a region owned by Lawilia, "Lawilia has unexpectingly confronted our forces. However, this is actually a positive situation or us, because we have a chance to destroy their forces quicker now."
Yoshiken pointed the rod to an area to the far west, "Now, this is the farthest outpost we have in our country. It was only a matter of time before it was attacked by Neuropa. Our top priority is defending that region. Any questions?"
One official stood up quickly, "We should give up on region 17 my Lord, for it seems that we need to concentrate on the war with Lawilia."
Yoshiken pointed the rod on Xenerex's region marked 16, "If we let Neuropa take this region, he will be able to attack Xenerex from another angle. As well as protecting ourselves, we have an obligation to protect friends as well."
Another official stood up, "the forces of Lawilia overpower us, how do you plan to fix this?"
Yoshiken smirked, "that is classified."
Many officials stood up and gradually started to engulf the stage. Guards sprung him, and pushed everyone back. Yoshiken turned, and headed towards the door, letting Dante take over.
