Yinguredsath was alarmed at the news that Come had been integrated into Neuropa. Enrique Rzlowieszczyk could have puked at the news; Lazo was in control of about half the continent. However, instead of backing down and letting Lazo bully Mantasthia, Enrique order the continuation on the attack at the former Comian capital; it was Mantasthia's last shot at making a statement that it will not tolerate Neuropa swallow it without a fight. Finally for the day, he ordered Ishathod Eminiarczyk, another one of his assistants, to start playing the propaganda game with Neuropa; nothing of this sort was distributed on this day, however.

Yoshiken walked through the outskirts of a quick battle that had gone on a day before. There were lifeless corpses throughout the field, some part of his own nation, and others part of Lawilia. Yoshiken was helping the medics collect troops to bring back to the sickbay, just in case they still had some bit of life in them.
A man quickly ran up to Yoshiken, "Lord, a letter for you, I was instructed by Vaidin to have it directly delivered to you in person."
Yoshiken didn't say anything, and opened the letter swiftly.
"Dear Yoshiken,
The defenses over in the borders at the edge of the great plains have been going smoothly. Neuropa, however, is a continual threat, and a very powerful force indeed. We do not know how much more we can hold. Our outer walls have not been penetrated, but we do not know how much longer they can hold. Do not fear for our safety, for we understand that you must concentrate on Lawilia.
I was able to meet Ivan at a classified location, and we discussed matters dealing with foreign affairs. I understand the stress you must be going through, for....*confidential*.... I advise that you simply keep your eye on Lawilia and Neuropa. I must depart now, to aid in the the defense of this area. Farewell, and good luck.
With humble gratitude, Vaidin Zegarr "
Yoshiken folded the letter carefully, and headed back towards his tent.

Lazo slowly walks up to a podium, taking slow, deep breaths as he shuffles papers around on the wooden surface for a few moments, staring ahead with a weary look on his face as he begins to speak.
“It has come to our understanding that as we continue to expand and welcome our neighbors into our culture, our way of life, that we need a clearly stated, cohesive and encompassing end goal with which to face those outside of our borders.
Our inevitable clashes of those with alternative ideologies has presented many problems for us, however it is not beyond us to be overly aggressive in our policies towards those who would so openly do harm against us. A man is a man – regardless of which ideology or affiliation that they use to guide their lives. In this comprehensive respect for the freedom of people to live their lives and make their own decisions, we find ourselves facing a minor ideological dilemma: How, then, can we possibly justify using force if we are to claim to have the over-arching ideas of freedom in mind? It is not a question that is easily answered in any volume, and nary impossible to put into concise language. But it is, I believe, a crucial endeavor that we must undertake if we are to understand ourselves, as we cannot understand others without understanding ourselves first.
Freedom is not absolute, nor can it ever be. When the wishes of one clash with the wishes of another a set of boundaries must be set up, which in itself restricts freedom of both. If such a thing is not done and a clash of that sort were to be left to escalate, an eventual victory of one would me the complete annihilation of freedom from another, which I need not add is also a breach of the idea of freedom. It is our belief now, as it has always been, that the former is much more preferable to the latter. In this we offer the other nations of the continent an opportunity: Lay down your arms and surrender to our nation, and we will treat your people with the respect and dignity that any reasonable beings deserve. If you choose violence, then we will destroy you.
But this struggle is not only external. As we gather more groups and cultures under our banner, we will inevitably have clashes of cultures as nations of different values attempt to cohabitate with each other. While we understand that we cannot eliminate all conflict, we seek to reduce it as much as possible through a number of changes in our domestic policies. Most important of these is the way at which new, integrating cultures will be handled. Dubbed the “Mil-Argro Doctrine,” it states that newly integrating nations shall concern themselves with the territories that they originally had under their control as integration takes place. It is through this that, we hope, ideologies of contrary nature can live under a relative stability – each of their ways of life being respected and upheld in their respective areas. It is our hope that, over time, even the most contradictory methods can find a way to find peace with each other – finding the high way, embracing their differences and using their perspectives to help devise new and more efficient methods for the benefit of everyone under the Neuropan banner.”

Yet worse news had reached Yinguredsath the next day with the news that Nineveh had been invaded. Although this was among Enrique Rzlowieszczyk's greatest fears, he didn't panic, and ordered the rest of the national headquarters to stay calm as well. He called in an order of fortification to the region headquarters of Nineveh.
In the meantime, Ishathod Eminiarczyk fired back in the propaganda war with the following flyer:
Remember what happened to Saphoria and Come? Don't let it happen to Mantasthia!
Lazo, head of Neuropa, is attacking us for the sole purpose to integrate our society into his powerhouse. He has greed for what we have, Niewkarczium. He's also afraid of the potential of weapons of mass destruction because of this. If we wanted to bomb the crap out of them, we would just drop a bomb that would initiate a reaction creating common table salt on them.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT CAVE IN TO NEUROPIAN PRESSURE TO DO ANYTHING. When possible, notify your local police division or the National Security office of the National Headquarters in Yinguredsath. If all else fails, accept death as an option. BUT DO NOT LET NEUROPIAN SPIES CONTROL YOU!

"So there is war all across the continent now, huh?" Law said.
"That's right!" Strangie replied. "Neuropa has generally the entire continent on the ropes. Before long, Mantasthia is going to fall - they're holed up, and can't last forever..."
"Hmm." Law rubbed his chin a little. "We'll need to keep up the attack against Syllvace and Xenerex. We may have to resort to barricading again at this rate, though - likewise, we are also holed up, but, at least we have an ally on our side."
He looked over the map, with Neuropa symbols stretching from north to south, end to end of the continent. "Syllvace and Xenerex aren't much larger than us. Surely there will be a bloodbath soon, if there isn't one already."
He slammed his hands on his desk, causing the noise to echo through the halls. "Damnit! If things were only different for us, we wouldn't be in such a tight position... Keep all attacking units on the attack for now! Retain all other barricades! We'll make sure at least the side of good wins over this continent."
Louis stepped in. "More news! Neuropa aids us again... you think at this rate, we might be able to keep Syllvace at bay long enough for Neuropa to beat them down?"
"Yes... Good... very good..."
"You know," Strangie said, "It kinda stinks we can't fight this war on our own. I'm getting reports that Xenerex is laughing at us behind our backs. What gives?"

Yoshee had her bags in hand, and was on her way out of the castle doors. Mercury came up and neatly deposited the letter in Yoshee's hand as it came off of the bag. "What's this?" She opened the note and scanned it quickly, then sighed. She handed it to Bear as she backed up back into the castle. "It looks like my little tour is going to have to wait," Yoshee said, setting down her bags and dashing up to the War Hall. Bear blinked at the letter, then quickly followed, Mercury just behind. "Bear, you've got a job. We're in charge of the invasion on Syllvace, so you better get down there. I'll see to the supplies," She commanded, handing her somewhat scribbled reply for the Coordinator to Mercury. I'll have to work on my handwriting someday, She told herself, shaking her head. Bear and Mercury ran from the Front Hall of the castle in different directions at top speed. They used to be friends, too...

Theodore's NEW messenger was here. He entered the room where Jad and Theodore were now ruling from, and 'delivered' the mail.
"Theodore, Sir! Jad, Sir!"
"Shut up and tell me the news..." Theodore said, his mood had considerably darkened. The newsman, apparently used to Neuropian threats, did just that. He shut up and handed Theodore a stack of mail, then left to get some refreshments most likely.
Teo took up a flier that was lain on top. It was written in Mantasthia. He looked at it intently for a few minutes, then exlaimed "GOD DANGIT!! This sonuvagun says to his people not to let his Kingdom integrate like ours did! And he says it like he has pity for us! He FORCED us to integrate! His people CANNOT be that stupid..."
Still enraged, he opened an envelope, which on the back, had the Neuropian seal. Ah, this is interesting. Teo grabbed the letter opener, slashed the poor thing open, and took out the message. It was from Lazo himself.
"What does it say?" Jad said, having only just now spoken.
" YESS!! IT'S TIME!! OH ENRIQUE, You are SO going to GET IT!!" Theodore's mood had brightened, but it was a darker brightening. After the pain of attack, came the thoughts of revenge. "Jad, how much is in the Neuropian bank, and what are our troops looking like?"
Jad resumed his old stance, stood up straight, and spoke in messenger form- "Come currently has 6 troops, 9 food, and the Neuropian country has 5700 koins left... my advice is don't use them all, Lazo would kill you."
"I'm sure my death will be swift and painless..."

Post by Yoshiken on Dec 8, 2006 17:12:06 GMT -5
Yoshiken slipped in a video that a political official gained after visiting a conference in Neuropa. It stated a proposition for ending conflict for all the nations. The video ended, and Yoshiken stretched out his arms, "that ruler is an intelligent one, he is able to mix threats and soft words to reach an almost perfect equilibrium with the two. I guess the old saying goes, 'you can get much more with a fine word and a gun, than you can with just a fine word.' However, I am not one to fall to such deceiving advice."
Ivan responded, "and why is that sir?"
Yoshiken turned around to face other officials, "simple, Lazo is making it seem like he can create the best means for freedom and ideology by joining to become one land. Culture and ideas are not absolute, nor is agency. Freedom does not have to be restricted to one nation, one idea, one system. There are a number of countries for one reason, and that is because there are so many different ideas of culture and advancement. Taking that away only leads to a decrease in freedom. I do not force my citizens to stay in this country, and they may depart if they dislike how it is governed. They may speak horribly against the government, and they can taunt me how they like, but I will not punish them. I am here to make my people happy, and to keep the ethics of this country intact, and that is why this nation is here to stay.
If there is only one system, there is only one choice. If there is only one choice, then there is no agency. If there is no agency, there is no true freedom. If there is no freedom, then there is no fulfillment. This is why we must keep our nation, our freedom, our culture, and our lives."
There was clapping and joyous shouts filling the room after the finishing of his brief speech. Yoshiken never anticipated to make such a reply, but fate is fate.

"Jad, what is the news of today?"
"I am no longer your messenger, I'm only a co-advisor."
"Well would you like to be my messenger? You were better than this guy."
Just then, the new messenger came in. Theodore was at his new desk, made of mahogany with a gold trim. He still felt it was over-done, seeing as any money could be used in the war-effort, but it was a gift, so it would be impolite to reject. Teo still thinks it's bugged.
"What news today?" Theodore said, in an old-English tone.
"Your attacks against Region 9 are proceeding as planned. There are 6 troops battling, with 3 days worth of food. Come has 4 troops and 4 food units, and they are battling the opposition. Estimated units by the end of the battle: 2."
"The opposition is fading then," Jad intervened. "For once, Come will be able to function normally again, but as a city in place of a capital. Speaking of which, Theodore, may I recommend more troops in the city? With 2 troops defending, we might be lept on?"
"Jad, that is wise advice. Unfortunately, I do not know how badly this room is bugged by Enrique's forces, so next time... could you save it for a more private place? Continue messenger..?"
"Your attacking for-"
"No no no," Theodore interrupted, "Your name."
The Yoshi's concentration was broken a second and it took him a small pause to answer. "My name..? ...Sylvia."
Theodore's eyes widened, he hadn't payed enough attention to realize it was a girl. "Yes uh... continue."
Sylvia turned herself on news-mode again. "Your attacking force in region 9 consists of 6 more troops and 3 more food units. If left untouched, Transistil will be left a neutral zone. Neuropa has 10,700 koins ready for use."
"Now why does SHE get to speak personal information out loud?" Jad interrupted again.
Theodore thought on the point, then on the battle. The battle was going as planned, despite a little cruelty Teo would have to do in order to gain the region. "Right, Sylvia, I'll have to ask you write me the news next time... I'm just afraid this place is bugged down. In fact..." Teo had suspected something when putting papers away yesterday. He had pushed them in a drawer, and felt something, but was too tired to investigate. He opened the drawer, lifted some papers, felt around, and indeed there was a miniature speaker-like device. Unfortunately, it self destructed when he picked it up. "Yes, writing please..." he said. "Dismissed..."
Sylvia walked out, closing the new, large double-doors behind her. "Jad, as you are my co-advisor, I'll have to ask you to advise my troops to do the following... I can minimize our losses on defence."

Description of "educational" video on the subject of Yoshiken, leader of Syllvace. Aired by the PBC (Phantine Broadcast Consortium).
The scene fades in with two men standing face-to-face, having a serious discussion. Their lips are moving but their voices cannot be heard - however through their gestures and facial expressions it can be discerned that they don't seem to be fond of each other. The man on the left has a large, ornat necklace with a pendant on the tip, the man on the right carries a katana, his left hand making slight motions toward the handle at each of the other man's gestures.
They pause for a moment after some time and nod, as if in agreement over an unknown point. The man on the left turns to leave, the man on the right letting him walk a few steps before pulling out the katana's blade and charging at the other man's back, the camera panning up as a swift chop and low grunt is heard, followed shortly by the sound of something heavy hitting the ground.
The camera quickly zoomes in on the man from the right, a bloody katana is his left hand with spiteful and covetous expression, looking up as he leans over, shuffles for a few moments, then stands straight up, gripping the pendant as he greedily looks over it.
The image slowly fades out as an image of a penguin fades in, warning "Evil can come from sources that you may not expect! Otherwise good people can become no better than any criminal when taken over by jealousy and Greed. The leaders of syllvace have been twisted by desire, you cannot believe their lies or you will pay the price: To them you and everything you care for a simply tools to use to further their selfish push for domination. Even their own people are not safe! We must stand strong against the deception that is Syllvace."

Twi moves over to the bin and takes out the four pieces of the letter and puts them on the table and re-reads the letter.

Post by Enrique on Dec 10, 2006 17:53:48 GMT -5
For the first time in several days, Yinguredsath seemed to be calm again. Enrique Rzlowieszczyk has called a meeting among his advisors concerning the long-term ramifications of the defensive efforts of the nation and its financial capacity; it was determined that Mantasthia can support its own weight in defense; however, it was going to need some help from the other nations to stop Neuropa from thriving as it has been lately in order for Mantasthia to have a chance at thriving. Also, the citizens in Transcitil and Nineveh may have to be relocated to Yinguredsath and Rzlowieszczykow to ensure their safety, leaving Transcitil and Nineveh purely as military bases.
Above all, it was emphasized the importance of protecting the knowledge of Niewkarczium. Rzlowieszczyk felt that Lazo didn't need this knowledge to improve his own nation that was easily dominating the continent. The meeting did lighten up near the end with a discussion on Theodore Belsebuth's letters enticing Enrique to allow for Mantasthia to be integrated into Neuropa. Enrique ensured his advisors that he would not cave in to "such silliness."

Yoshiken read a review of Neuropian propaganda in the local newspaper, and threw the paper into the fireplace. "Dante, this is becoming a problem. Neuropa is attempting to destroy me from the inside, by angering my citizens by deceit. How is the war on Lawilia coming along anyways?"
Dante handed a report over to Yoshiken, "They have retreated their forces from the capital of Xenerex. That was our goal all along, correct?"
Yoshiken flipped open the report, "indeed, it was. This means we can end this dispute and concentrate on Neuropa."
"My lord, is that such a good idea? We have them on the defensive, we can win this war!" Dante replied with an obvious raise in voice.
Yoshiken calmly replied, "meaningless conflict is not how one of honor works. We have finished our duties, and now we must choose the right path. We have no more reason to pursue Lawilia. Now, call back our forces at once, we have some business to attend to in the west."
Dante kneeled down, "as you wish my king."

Description of "Educational" video on the subject of Yoshiken, leader of Syllvace. Aired by the PBC (Phantine Broadcast Consortium)
The camera fades in to a silouette scene with a red background with four men, one of them taller than the rest and clearly in charge, making wild hand gestures and pointing in several different directions as the three men under him assemble some sort of device, moving blocks and pipes and tubes from a chest and fastening them to form a single large black mass, several gears as well as a large cylender at a 45 degree angle hinting at the idea of it being some sort of long-range killing machine, all hints soon disuaded as the leader lifts up both hands and throws them forward, the three others placing hooked claws on the front and sides of the thing.
Their labors complete, the man in charge orders the others to form a line in front of the large thing. The figure in charge beckons towards himself, and the large contraption they had just finished being activates, the hooked claws spinning at an increasing speed as the three others slowly back off - but it is too late, the thing screeches forward, eviscerating the three with a single charge, the blades ripping them to pieces. It stops abruptly some distance away from the leader, his expression appearing to be one of heavy laughter at the grisly scene.
The scene goes black as the silouette of that same penguin again is shown. "Earlier this year Syllvace sacrificed its own soldiers to put a convincing spin on its own deception." He sighs "If Syllvace cares so little for the lives of its own servicemen relative to its desires, then how much do you expect him to care about yours?"
