Humans vs. Yoshi's

[Elemental Ninja]

Genesis was nearing a small patrol of humans and getting ready to strike. He turned around and reviewed with his squad of 30.
Genesis: " ok guys here we go. You sneak around this way and you..."

[Zyph]

Taking lead into the investigation of the Yoshis that had just been sighted, Cevik went to a building from afar with his two friends, spying on the newly arrived Yoshis. Cevik first noticed a brown Yoshi wearing a cloak leading a squad of about 30 Yoshis. Cevik also noticed a small patrol of humans seemingly ready to attack the Yoshis. Cevik discussed of the situation quietly with his friends.

Cevik: "This is really... bad. They didn't tell me a small squad has just been dispatched before me. What to do... what to do... Something tells me this won't go well if we don't act now. What do you think?"

Friend #1: "I don't know... this is horrible really. Has it really come to this? That brown Yoshi there looks menacing."

Friend #2: "Look! You can see that brown Yoshi instructing his squad! Better pay close attention to it, Cevik. We did make sure to remove our scent completely so that they don't smell us out, right?"

Cevik: "Of course, you did say Yoshis have a high sense of smell... but what to do with the patrol around here... Hmm, I know what I'll do... I shall see if we can do this with the least amount of violence as possible."

Cevik then tries to contact the patrol via encrypted radio transmission.

Cevik: "This is Cevik, special agent... Listen to me! Be cautious of those creatures we call 'Yoshis'. They are potentially dangerous and I'm sure you have heard stories of their... eating habits. Make sure you do something about your scent too! Remove it!

I'll tell you what they are planning from where I am. But most importantly... do not show aggression! I repeat... do not show aggression! Send someone to confront that 'Yoshi' in the cloak, but be sure to back him up if anything goes wrong. Make that man come out with no weapons, and instruct him to somehow make peace with those 'Yoshis'. I don't care how stupid it is! Just do it! I'd like to not make a fight here... I can see where you all are, do not worry."

Friend #2: "So you are going to attempt if we can make peace here and then? Look... I don't think it will work..."

Cevik: "*Sigh* We can at least... try. I need to see how those Yoshis will react. If things go wrong... *take out a special smoke bomb and a slingshot*..."

Friend #1: "You... can't be serious!"

[Teal]

Yoshi A: Teal the traps are set in place. As soon as those horrible humans set foot in our territory we will rip them to shreds...just like what they did to our brethren.

Teal: Good work soldier. We will be using what the humans call Guerrilla warfare. It is known as one the most intimidating tactics used in war. We know this island far better than the humans and the humans will be blind to those who attack them.

Yoshi B: I want to torture them and make them feel our pain! I've never felt so disgusted I want them ALL TO DIE!

Teal put a hand on the yelling yoshi's shoulder. 

Teal: Hey! Calm down! I know what you desire. But you have no reason to blame all the humans. Not all of them are the same. Kind of like us. Remember our mission is to drive the humans away from the island to ensure the safety of our people. If you don't like it then you should've joined the invasion squad.

Yoshi A: Hey Teal didn't you get captured by a human once?

Teal took a deep breath. 

Teal: I wasn't "captured" I was saved from being eaten by an Nep-enut when I was a child.

Yoshi B: Haha! Weren't you that wimpy guy? You couldn't even throw an egg further than 30 feet! You were also the slowest yoshi I ever met.

Teal: ...as I was saying. The human took me off the island voluntarily of course. He raised me and taught me how to be strong and how to fight. I also learned a lot about humans and their technology.

Yoshi A: What was the human's name?

Teal: Firago. He called himself a researcher and a warrior of some type. 

Another yoshi ran up to tell Teal something. 

Teal: Looks like we have visitors. I want our troops to use projectiles so they won't give their position away. Avoid throwing eggs though, they are bright and can give your position away.

Teal's troops are scattered throughout the island except on areas conquered by humans. 

Teal thought to himself: For now we will try to scare them off. I need to find a way to reason with them otherwise we will all die. We are horribly outnumbered in terms of global population. 

[Yoshiken]

Vaidyn kept himself stationed on a hill of higher altitude than the rest of the environment around him. He had his longbow at his side, with his quiver firmly attached to his back. Archers were posted all alongside the camp, on orders to fire at will at any yoshi that appeared threatening to them. Vaidyn had sent scouting parties earlier in the day to see where the enemy was coming from, and their reports showed that the yoshis were mostly coming from the northeast at a fast pace. It was time to act.

Vaidyn sat in his tent, at a table that held a map and intel on one half, and a chess board with it's pieces moved in the other. Across from him was his right-hand man, Torin. Torin had been Vaidyn's chief advisor for years now, and there wasn't a man alive that he trusted more.

They had been discussing strategies and formations all day. The current plan was to include a squad of men that would be put in the front lines. They would retreat before actually getting into combat with the yoshis, acting as decoys to draw the forces inwards. Two other squads would outflank them from the rear, trapping them in a deadly situation where they would be given the choice of immediate surrender or death. If a line of escape broke out in the flanking maneuver, then the archers would pick off those trying to run.

"I hope your plan works," Torin stated, looking at the approximate positions of the enemy drawn onto the map.

"It is too early to tell. Those reptilian scum might be more resourceful than we think," Vaidyn replied. "Though, I wouldn't put it past those animals to fall right into our trap."

"I assume you have a backup strategy in case this doesn't work?" Torin asked , somewhat more doubtful.

Vaidin switched his attention to the chess board. "Of course," he responded. He picked up a pawn and moved it forward.

Genesis saw a human approaching he froze completely
how did they find us?
Genesis quickly saw the human had no weapons so he ordered his yoshi's to lower their weapons and gave his own to His second in command a yoshi named Ninjo.
Genesis "greetings human may i ask your name?"

[Zyph]

Upon command, a normally-dressed woman walked towards to the Yoshis. From afar, all the Yoshis can be seen to have suddenly stopped.

Cevik: *lowers his slingshot and bomb* "Did they just sent a woman?"

Friend #1: "Looks like they did... But look, the Yoshis stopped. Could it be that they are willing to talk?"

Cevik: "Hold on second! I know that woman..."

The woman looked around the area as she is seemingly wandering around, going towards the Yoshis. She then heard one of them talking to her. She looked at the Yoshi in the cloak, and looks seemingly surprised and nervous.

"Yo-you talk in a language I can understand? M-my name you ask? My name is Janet... Yo-you may be wondering why I am around here, y-yes? Well... this is a place I go to often, but... then I saw you all and became curious. What are you all... and..."

She then stands there for a while looking at the Yoshis and all the weapons they are holding. Suddenly she had a rather terrified look.

"Why do you have weapons... *Gasps* Are you what they call Yoshis?! D-did you come here to invade and kill us?! Oh, please tell me this isn't so..."

*She steps back a bit, shaking in fear*

"Pl-please... don't kill me... I'm sorry about what is happening at your island! B-but... what are you all exactly going to do here... i-if that is fine for you to answer..."

Cevik: "Janet... she is no ordinary person, that is for sure. But, I can trust her, I guess. If she is here, in that case..."

*contacts the patrol via encrypted radio transmission again*

"Cevik here again... Yeah, I noticed you sent her... She volunteered?... Okay, look. I need you all to leave this area immediately... I am serious! Leave immediately!... Do you know who you are talking to and who she is?... Leave this area dammit!... Thank you... This is a small threat thus far from what I can see and we don't want it to elevate... I know what I am doing!... Listen to me, if we start a fight here, people around here will panic! Innocent bystanders may be killed... Then the least you can do is evacuate people around this area... Over and out."

The squad that was around earlier then dispersed to carry out the new command of evacuation.

Friend #2: "What is going to happen now?"

Cevik: "We wait, watch, and see. If we can manage to suppress the threat here, then things will go well for now... If she is here, there are others like me around..."

[Elemental Ninja]

Genesis "yes we are Yoshi's Janet but please don't be scared i mean you no harm. Look at me do i carry a weapon? i am who they call Genesis Tierra. What are we going to do well my tribe chieftain sent me and other Yoshi's to kill certain humans who killed his family."

Ninjo from the back "ai they killed mine too"

Others mumble in agreement

Genesis "we never wanted this war but we were forced into it."

[Zyph]

Janet: *starts to calm down but is still tense looking* "Genesis Tierra... hmm?"

"Genesis" can mean origin, and "Tierra" can mean earth... Yoshis are in tribes, and knowing from history regarding tribes, they may believe in magic. Knowing all this, perhaps this Genesis Tierra may have powers regarding the element Earth. Many people may not believe in magic, but after meeting... I should be cautious.

"S-so... I see you carry no weapons... but t-the others I see are still holding theirs."

*She looks at all the weapons being held and takes note of it all into her head*

Knowing what weapons they have may help in determining their fight styles and possible strategies... but still, Yoshis are different than humans and may use the weapons differently than what a human would do with the same weapons.

"S-sent by your leader to k-kill certain humans t-that killed Yoshis? May I ask what is your leader's name? A-anyways, d-do you even k-know where to l-look? For a-all you know t-the killers may all still b-be at the i-island..."

All the "killers" are involved with the military from what I know... I have yet to kill a Yoshi, so therefore they should probably have no reason to kill me, I hope.

"Forced i-into war? Well... c-can't blame you on that... S-some of us... humans you can say... d-don't even want this w-war to begin with. I-I guess I c-can say n-not to underestimate u-us... b-but I guess you c-can say t-the same.

A-as for the k-killers you m-may be l-looking f-for..."

I should be careful of what I say here... I don't want to be charged for treason... But hmm... if we want to make sure we can defend properly against them as necessary, we need to get as much info about these squad of Yoshis and how they do things such as combat

"I-I don't k-know much, b-but I guess I c-can tell y-you that t-there is a s-small place w-where they shelter soldiers ready to s-send t-to y-your island."

*points to the direction of where such soldiers are held*

"I-I guess y-you can start there... B-but... i-it is dangerous, a-and from what I can see, you are seriously o-outnumbered. What e-exactly c-can you do, a-anyways?"

Now... in war, there are such things as sacrifices. Suicide bombers for example. I'm sure we can sacrifice some soldiers so we can learn more about these Yoshis. Besides, knowing those soldiers, they think Yoshis are monsters, scum... just bad stuff. I could care less if they died.

Turns out Yoshis aren't the hostile and crazed killers as the military described them. They are actually quite respectful, seeing that they didn't kill me when I am seemingly unarmed. I wonder what is up with the military... Corrupt officials I bet. Serves them right if they get assassinated; tons of money is being wasted just for this war.

Cevik: *is currently listening from afar to the conversation Janet and the Yoshis are having using certain technology* "I wonder what Janet is thinking... But I think I know what she is planning to do. She was my partner many, many times. So... if that is so..."

[Elemental Ninja]

"I know where the killers are I've been tracking them and some are in that squad over there. My leaders name, hmm, i shouldn't tell you, and i can do a lot more than what it looks like. Now if you excuse me i must be going."
*genesis retrieves his blade from Ninjo and walks past Janet*

[Zyph]

Janet: "W-well... alright..."

A lot more than what he looks like, huh? Like I judge someone by their cover. So they know their killers, that is rather interesting. But, hmm... I should warn some of the military camps around here.

Cevik: "And so they leave... And hmm... are we going against a paranormal group of Yoshis? And how do they know their killers as well?"

Friend #1: "So.. now what?"

Cevik: "Hmm... for now I want you two to go to my basement and do some monitoring... I need to handle some stuff"

Friend #2: "If you say so..."

Janet: "Hmm..."

*As soon as the Yoshis are gone, Cevik soon approaches Janet*

Cevik: "So... what have we learned..."

Janet: "Ah, Cevik. I knew you were around here... Dang military don't tell us everything. But, knowing you... you probably heard the whole conversation."

Cevik: "True..."

Janet: "Well, Genesis Tierra... A possible paranormal Yoshi due to his name and his statement. But well... they know their killers. Any ideas how they know?"

Cevik: "They must have good memory. Or it could be that they somehow marked their killers. They may know the scent of their killers, or it could be something else. We still have more to learn about these creatures..."

Janet: "Well... anyways, we need to get things set up. they went that way"

*points at the direction where the squad of Yoshis are going*

Janet: "So most likely they are going to that base first..."

Cevik: "I see... Good thing I set up cameras and sensors at many of the bases around here."

Janet: "Oh? I still wonder where you have such technology. The military don't have such."

Cevik: "I make them, and I'd rather not have it distributed. They're all well hidden, it is practically impossible to find."

Janet: "Well alright.... Oh the bases around here have just been notified by another special agent that was here... However... it has you involved."

Cevik: "M-me involved? How so?"

Janet: "Let's just say specialized traps have just been set up made for you to activate. "

Cevik: "This is a joke, right?"

Janet: "Nope, this is not a joke. These are orders, what can we do? If we don't follow, then we get screwed."

Cevik: "*sigh* Well... Let me think... ... ... Alright, well... this may be cruel what I am thinking but *whispers some stuff to Janet*"

Janet: "Sounds crazy... but... I trust you. We're partners afterall... and you know why we we're partners to begin with."

Cevik: "Yeah... because yo-"

Janet: "Shh! ...we better get a move on quick!"

Cevik: "Now? Ugh, lets hurry!"

*The two starts running to the base where the squad of Yoshis are headed to, knowing a shortcut to get there very fast*

[Yoshiken]

The expected attack had not happened yet, and the multiple squads that Vaidyn was leading were growing restless. Vaidyn kept looking at the map, trying to make sure everything was full-proof in his strategy.

"Torin, we can't just stay on the defense. My men are losing morale fast," Vaidyn asserted, knowing that motivation is a large part of success in battle.

"What do you suppose we do?" Torin asked.

Vaidyn looked at the map, and pointed at a spot west of their current position. "According to the reports, a trail was found here. That can only mean that there is a yoshi village or outpost around that part of the island. I will take some of the men here, mostly the foot soldiers that were used on the earlier scouting parties, and try to find this village. Hopefully, I can find this village, and use it towards our advantage to gain more ground. I will be putting you in charge of the operations here. If you manage to advance, then meet me in the area that I will be heading towards."

"What about the residents?" Torin questioned.

"It is really up to them. If they don't try to resist, then we will simply capture and deport them. Any type of threat and we will kill them," Vaidyn responded.

Torin rubbed his chin, and then observed the map again. "I will just warn you now. That area is a dense forest if I remember correctly. We may have the numbers, but those yoshies have knowledge of the terrain. Watch your back out there."

Vaidyn stood up out of his seat and began to pack necessary supplies. "Don't worry. I am prepared for such a scenario."

[Teal]

(sorry I'm going slow. I'm traveling and vacationing currently. I'm also typing this using my phone which is a pain in the neck. I should be going faster once I get back)

Yoshi A: Looks like they're moving in Teal.

Teal: Alright Pan. Remember when I said to fire. I know it's questionable but...just do what I say.

Pandora is a female yoshi who has always been friends with Teal. She was one of the few yoshies who supported Teal in his childhood. Teal trusts her with his life and made her second-in-command in the squad protecting Yoshi's Island. 

Teal: Lets watch their moves closely. I just hope Genesis is faring well.

A group of 3 yoshies appeared in front of the humans. They were unarmed.

Leading yoshi: So...haven't had enough action did you? You've got some nerve to continue rampaging through our island. Tell me...why are you still here? Haven't you caused enough damage?

Commander Teal was listening through a pearl-like device worn as a necklace worn by the talking yoshi. It's sending the conversation to the pearl Teal has.

[Zyph]

Upon reaching the base, Cevik is welcomed by a commander.

Commander: "Yo Cevik! Good to see you have arrived. We heard them reptilian bastards are coming here to kill us all. Well, lets see them scum try."

Cevik: "Uhm... okay... so what am I to do here?"

Commander: "Well... as you freaks instructed..."

*the Commander points points at the ground. The base's ground is cemented and has a metal mesh covering it all*

"As you can see, we laid quite a lot of this metal mesh around our base. I don't know what is going to happen, but they say you are gonna work some 'magic'. But what can I expect from the weirdos, pssh."

*the Commander then points at various metal walls around the base*

"We also have these up as well... But don't ask me why... They told me these monsters have weapons like swords and whatnot. But what can a freaking metal wall do when all they have to do is... walk around it? We may have as well built another cemented wall around this whole base, but orders are orders..."

*points at various areas*

"And we have standard traps... Pitfalls, nets, you name them."

Cevik: "Well... alright"

Commander: "But... I doubt those traps, cept of course the standard ones, will work. Like I believe you freaking weirdos with your so called 'tech' mumbo jumbo. I do like this transmitter though... one of the few useful things you weirdos made. Anyways..."

*points at some of the towards and walls*

"We got archers, swordsmen... all those good stuff. Right now they are just doin them drills. REAL MEN, unlike you weaklings. We also have others on the lookout to see if them scum are close. Our men mobilize fast."

Cevik: "That's... great I guess..."

Commander: "But... here's what I dun understand. Why can't we kill them off? *grabs Cevik* GOT AN ANSWER, DUMB***?! "

Cevik: "Uh.. uh..."

Commander: "Screw that order! We were trained to kill, not be some sissys who can't kill. Well... I told you everything I am to say so... *pushes Cevik to the ground* NOW GO DO YOUR PART, MAGGOT! SPECIAL MY BUTT! Once we done with this... OFF TO THE ISLAND, AWWWW YEEAAAAH! Can't wait to work with this one awesome dude I heard about. His name is Va.. va... AH SCREW IT! NOW GO!"

Cevik: *gets up and shoves some of the dirt off* "Man whatever. This war stuff is pointless." *walks to his position, which is well hidden, and sighs. He then brings up some things up on his self-made hi-tech goggle visor and observes*

Janet is somewhere else near the base but hidden. She has removed her scent from earlier and is wearing a mask and a special attire to cover her face and identity. She has her personal team of specially trained paramedics, all wearing masks and scent removed. They have tools and equipment ready for rescuing those in need.

Janet: "Alright... the plan is to..."

[Yoshiken]

Vaidyn had gathered a number of troops from those stationed on the hill, and set off to the west, hoping to find this trail that was spoken of previously. Vaidyn had hand-chosen a few men to form a long-range unit that would follow Vaidyn from far behind, just in case they found themselves in any troubling situation.

The front unit was split into groups of 12, with each group surveying a different area, and then returning to a designated point to describe their findings. Vaidyn picked the 11 most skilled fighters for his own group, and set off.

It wasn't long before they were stopped by 3 unarmed yoshis. The one that appeared to lead the trio immediately questioned Vaidyn about his purpose for continually attacking Yoshi's Island.

Vaidyn laughed, more out of mockery than amusement. "Have I caused enough damage!? What a ridiculous question. Don't act like this is our fault. We came to help you barbarians, and you decided to rebel. You brought this upon yourself, you demented lizards. I have to say, It was a bit naive of you to come unarmed, don't you think?"

Vaidyn raised his hand up in a call to arms. "Men! Show them the hospitality they deserve!" All those near him raised up their weapons and surrounded the three yoshies.

"Now, you can either surrender, and guide us to the closest village to resupply, or you can be the example of what we do to uncooperative yoshies," Vaidyn arrogantly said. "The second choice isn't a very pretty sight by the way."

[Elemental Ninja]

Genesis noticed the base getting closer they were within a mile now
Genesis "alright i can sense holes in the ground there there and there"
*Genesis points*
Now we are gonna do the standard pincer movement
*points to Ninjo*
"Take 14 others and go left"
*Points to random yoshi*
"You take 13 and go right"
"I'm going down the middle. NOW GO! AND MAKE THE GROUND SHAKE WITH YOUR VOICES. make it sound as if we have more than we really do"
*Genesis runs through the field yelling*

[Zyph]

bzzzt... "... i can sense holes in the ground there there... bzzzt.... standard pincer movement... bzzzt... take 14... left... take 13... right... I'm going down the middle... bzzzt... NOW GO!... bzzzt... make it sound as if we have more than we do... bzzzt"

Cevik: "Humm... Troublesome, I knew those standard traps won't work... least the pitfalls... this Yoshi really is paranormal. Nonetheless..."

*stands up*

"Action must be done..."

*raises arms and concentrates on his visor to see in all directions of the base through his cameras, ready to ignite the traps as necessary*

"You may have seen those standard traps, Genesis... But this trap will be something that is undetectable... undetectable even through seismic powers... bring it... and I know that maneuver... I read them in stories..."

*pauses a bit, taking a deep breath*

"I hope... I don't kill any however..."

Janet: "15 on the left... 14 on the right... 1 towards the center... You got that?... Look I don't care how bad*** you are... Have your archers ready in all directions, they will try to enclose us... Do not be fooled about their shoutings... there are only 30 from what we know... now do your commands, now!"

*sigh*

She looks at her team of paramedics.

"Okay, so they may have detected the pitfalls, and possibly some of the nets... but there are still are some standard traps they cannot easily detect... tripwires with nets for example, done in a way to be practically invisible to seismic detection... some may be caught... but let's not forget the possibility they may avoid them all... Hmm..."

*she thinks for a while*

"Okay, *points at one team of paramedics* you go to the right and ready to rescue any Yoshis that may be caught or injured, *points at another team of paramedics* you go to the left and do the same... Be careful of arrows that may fly... And remember... only give enough so that they are knocked off but safe... do not overdose them that they die... Now move out!"

*the team of paramedics dispersed to take on the necessary commands*

"War..."

*she looks at the specialized smoke bombs Cevik gave her*

"These... I don't want to use these, but... I may have no choice..."

Commander: "THIS IS IT MEN! IT'S WAAAARRR TIIIMEEE!"

*points at one side*

"FIRE AT THAT SIDE!"

*points at the other side*

"FIRE AT THAT SIDE!"

*looks down at the middle*

"When you see that scum in some cloak, SHOOT HIM DOWN!"

*looks at some swordsmen*

"YOU! Get out there and make sure they don't close us off... NOW MOVE OUT MEN!"

*the archers from the side aims at the directions where the Yoshis are coming from and starts shooting numerous arrows*

*the archers in the middle are aiming down the center, ready to shoot when necessary*

*some of swordsmen starts dispersing out of the base and starts covering the base in all directions, their swords strapped on as instructed*

*other swordsmen and archers move out of the base and into certain buildings and areas to make sure to stop any Yoshis that may come their way*

Commander: "SHOW THEM NO MERCY! KILL THEM ALL!!!"

Cevik: "If... things go for the worst, Janet... I'm sorry... I'm... sorry..."

[Teal]

Leading Yoshi: "I'll take that as a no...you sound like you want to cause more damage."

The trio of yoshies put their hands up appearing as though they were surrendering. 

Leading Yoshi: "You humans disgust me. We didn't want to be taken away from our island. You came and started capturing us with your...technology. Some of us got away and you shot them down. My superior told me that humans are scared of things they don't understand and that they LOVE power. I really don't see what he sees in some members of your race but...I trust him. Seeing how you point your weapons at us you threaten to kill more of us. Now you mention an ugly sight...too bad you can't see!"

Suddenly it rained smoke bombs in the area creating a thick smokescreen that covered everything in sight. Soldiers that were behind the yoshies were snared or at least distracted by vine traps which grabbed their leg and pulled them up hanging upside down. The yoshi trio hightailed it out of there as fast as they could. Running in zigzags as instructed by Teal. They disappeared in the woods. The caught soldiers were hanging in the line of fire making it difficult to get a clear shot.

The trail would lead the humans to an apparently abandoned yoshi village that did not have any supplies for the humans besides fruit native to the island. 

[Elemental Ninja]

Genesis ran to the wall in his path He stopped there and made 3 complex forms with his hands collapsing the ground beneath the walls
Genesis "NOW STRIKE NOW"

[Zyph]

Cevik: "Hand formations... ... ...reminds m-... oh gosh it is ninja arts."

*looks at his visor and see's the walls collapsed*

"Okay... those were just the normal walls... But hmm..."

*observes what is going on carefully*

*arrows now start flying towards Genesis*

*arrows were already flying towards the other Yoshis from the sides*

*everyone is in position to do their necessary actions*

[Yoshiken]

The smoke cleared, and Vaidyn was able to see those stuck in vine traps. "Fools. Never leave yourself open to such an embarrassment. It is hard to believe that you are the best we got. Still, I underestimated those animals."

The yoshies had escaped into the forest. The tracks were baffling, and expertly created so that Vaidyn could not follow. He did not care though. There were no casualties on his side, and so he felt that he did not lose.

He went back to the designation point and reported his findings. All teams were on alert of the group of yoshies in the area. A finding came from another group as well, one much more promising. The village had been spotted, but not searched. Vaidyn made sure that he would be in the squad that would take care of that.

He recruited about 26 soldiers for the invasion of the village, followed by another squad of 20 that would circle it to make sure there were no traps.

They slowly and stealthily searched through each building in the village, but found nothing. It had been abandoned, along with all of its supplies. Vaidyn wasn't one to lose his temper easily. He was able to keep calm even under intense pressure. He would have lost it here though, if he didn't have a way to vent.
