Edit: Discussion will continue on the new forum: forum.yoshicurio.com/index.php?/topic/11-post-transition-revival-council/Alright, I said I'd get the ball rolling on this after Secret Santa was over, and it's been long enough, so let's start now. I'm looking to organize a live chat session (IRC, MSN, other means?) between members and non-members on the subject of reviving Yoshi's Corner, as doing it live would be more prompt, we would have the attention of everyone involved, and it would generally pike interest levels. We'll be discussing branding/identity, activities/events, anything else we can think of. Anyone (and I mean anyone) is welcome to join. In particular, I'd love to see a good mix of both old and new folks (and perhaps some in between) to better communicate how Yoshi's Corner has done in the past, and ways we make this place relevant for the future. However, I would like to get a general idea when most folks will be free. Timezones, perhaps specific times your schedule is free on a weekly basis? I want to include as much people as possible in this. One thing we could do is hold a sort of public iCalendar. Basically, an iCalendar is an .ics file which can be hosted remotely (IE. on a web server) and allow participants to put down dates and chime in on event participation status. It might help set some general deadlines for getting things done. If you're interested, be sure to post in this topic! mootnote 29/1 - changed topic to TBA because we just had a meeting today, jeez get some patience you guys lolol No longer relevant - BlitzzoUpdate: As a reminder, meeting times are: Tuesdays, 3 PM EST (GMT -5) Fridays, 6 PM EST

I'd be interested as long as the meeting times work out nicely for me. My schedule varies - sometimes wildly - from week to week, but generally Tuesdays and Thursdays are absolutely horrible for me. Most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, especially in the afternoons and evenings - with a number of exceptions - are fine with me.

This sounds like a fantastic idea!
MSN is great for me. How is MSN for everyone else?
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays are horrible for me. I am gone for much of the day. Mondays and Wednesdays are generally good between noon and late afternoon (though I can't promise anything). Friday would be the best day for me, anytime between noon and midnight. I am on Mountain Standard Time by the way.
Let's do this soon before school gets too busy for most people.

Sure, red.yoshi, but you should probably give us at least a general idea of when you will be available.
I'm generally free on Thursday thru Sunday in the evening (EST, GMT -5), and on Tuesday from the afternoon.

I'd have to remember my msn info, but I'm fine with that. My schedule's fairly flexible, so I suppose people with more constricted free time should have more say than I.

Welp, Kurtis and I will be sharing our one computer. He'll likely be doing the talking! Though I guess I could join in with my iPod Touch if this were to be held on AIM, but that doesn't sound very efficient. The rest of this week is fairly busy. We're gone 'til late afternoon tomorrow... I thought there was a lot going on this Friday, but I might be getting my days mixed up (we're definitely gone late afternoon, though). Saturday is completely busy, as is Sunday. Next Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are our best bet! I can't think of any plans next week that would get in the way, except that I like to go grocery shopping on Wednesdays, but that can be changed.

The time zone here is GMT+2, so I wonder when it should be held.

It seems likely we will be using MSN to do this, so if you wanted to join in with your iPod Touch you might want to look for an all-in-one IM app, if there is one out there. I don't own an iDevice (though my dad does), so I'm a little blind as to exactly what software is available for them.
I'll do a little research later, but right now I need to leave because it looks like this snowstorm might be getting pretty bad...

I'm in, although I don't really know what days I'll have free as my work schedule is made by somebody who thinks that not having a consistent work week is a good idea. Try and bear my GMT timezone in mind as if it's too late I won't be able to join.
In any case, if you hit me up in #yc or on MSN beforehand I'll try and get in on it.

I would definitely be in on this! I'm in EST (-5), and my schedule's sort of nuts. If I had to get up early, that's no problem for me (before 10am =P), but I'm really only available on Sunday and late afternoon/early evening Tuesday and Thursday. I can try to make appearances on Monday and Wednesday evenings, but it depends on the timing.

I could join in with my iPod Touch There's an official Microsoft published version of MSN messenger on the App Store, as well as eBuddy which supports most of the IM services. Either way, you should be covered if you're using an iThingy.

I can use IRC. I could also use MSN but I don't really like that.

I'll join in on this. Monday and Tuesday nights I'm usually free. Wednesday and Thursday I can get online at night, but I'd be at work. This wouldn't be a problem, as long as my work isn't busy... which it usually isn't. I never have a consistent schedule on the weekends, so I can't guarantee any times I'll be available then.

I'd prefer IRC, but it's probably not as viable as MSN or something unless Pink can get the javachat up and running again. I know I posted that IRC "guide" a while ago but I'm not exactly the best at explaining stuff like that.

I think I can make it. My timezone is Pacific -8 time. I'm not going to be available in the mornings because I work all morning shifts and on my days off I like to sleep in. Monday and Wednesday afternoons are kind of iffy for me so I can't do those times. This Saturday Jan. 22 I've made a prior commitment so I'm not available that day.
Generally I'm available from 7pm to midnight every day except this Saturday.

Oh derp, I never even bothered to look for an MSN app simply because Hotmail and Windows Live aren't supported in the iTouch's email app. Good to know, thanks!

Wow, nice! It's been a little less than 24 hours since I made this topic and so far I count about 12 participants (including myself).
I'll see about organizing all this into a calendar or the like so that I can see what time is best. Meanwhile, I'd love to see even more people participating!
