Alright, I think I'm just gonna go ahead and start rolling on this.

I put the times in... I did not receive any times from Digi, moot, Sakura, Matoking, or teh yoshi. Three of you are staff members to boot! Please let me know when you will be available, as otherwise I'm not going to know of a time that works well for you.

The first meeting will be tentatively held on this Tuesday, at 4PM EST (GMT -5), as that's when the most people claim to be available. Remember that this date/time is subject to change. We will likely be using MSN unless Pink can get an accessible IRC web client solution ready. My MSN client is dumb - someone will need to invite me to the group chat as I am strangely unable to send invites myself.

After the first meeting, we may be holding a second one perhaps on the weekends so that we can cover the folks who aren't able to attend this one. Also, keep in mind that attendance is not necessarily restricted to those who have posted here! If you see other folks online who might be interested, consider inviting them into the group chat as well!

Edit: I'm considering holding the second meeting on Friday, January 28th at around 6PM EST (GMT - 5).

Well I suppose to should list times I'm never going to be around. That'd be 12 to 3 EST on Wednesday and Fridays as well as 1-2 on Saturdays. I'm probably not going to be available from 4:30 to 5, Monday to Thursday, as that's my default commute time.

Other than that I'm generally home by 5 on weekdays (6 on Fridays) so any time after that is fine by me.

If the first meeting still occurs at 4 tomorrow, I'll be able to attend, but will have to ditch around 4:30 to catch my train.

The first meeting for me is 10PM right when i would normally go to sleep BUT thanks to this new throat hurting flu thats going all over the country im free the whole week meaning i am aviable 24/7 for it so im definitely going to be there

Edit : the big problem with MSN for me is that the only YC members that i have on it is Yoshiken and Zyph so if we're going the MSN way im going to need you guys addresses or something,unless of course someone comes up with an IRC idea

Oh well, looks I'll have to stay late for this. IRC is far better than MSN when it comes to joining in when you want to, no invites and all that jazz.

Although people usually want people to use proper IRC clients. (I use XChat, 100% free unlike MIRC which has some nag screens from what I have heard.

I definitely will not be able to attend the Tuesday one, as Tuesday is my busiest day every week. However, the Friday one is awesome and I have nothing going on that day, so I will be there.

I may not be able attend Tuesday, since my class starts right at 4 and lasts until a little after 5. I may be able to sneak online and try to catch what's going on in the conversation, but I have no idea if this class will be more of a lecture setting or a lab setting, so we'll see. All I know is that I have work on Friday then (thanks management, for tell me at 1AM last night), so I'm a no-go there.

No way is Tuesday happening for me. I have four classes and an evening NWS shift. Even if the meeting was at 9:30 pm when I'd be potentially available, I don't I'd want to do anything other than pass out on my bed by the time I got to my apartment.

Friday should be fine, though.

I can do Tuesday and Friday. If it's around 11PM GMT though I might not be able to catch the end of the chat but it'd be appreciated if somebody could upload the chatlog, not just for myself but anyone else who couldn't make it.

Hmm, strange, it seemed like 4PM would have been the perfect time. Well, seeing as a lot of folks are complaining about it being too late, I'll bump the meeting time a bit to be an hour earlier. The new time will be at Tuesday, 3PM EST (GMT -5).

Flip-flopping, I know, but as it has come to my attention that Mibbit allows connection to arbitrary IRC servers (I could have sworn that wasn't the case), this removes the biggest roadblock to holding the meeting on IRC. So IRC it is!

That's too bad, Tuesday happens to be the busiest day of the week for both of us. And the chat being on IRC eliminates my chance to participate. I guess Kurtis will catch the second chat on Friday then.

Hmm, if it's an issue with accessibility, then Mibbit should work on iDevices. Otherwise, as you mentioned, Kurtis can represent you.

Could I suggest putting the official time on the first post? It would be much easier to locate if the date is subject to change (or if you hold future meetings.)

I think putting it in the topic title would make the date/time more noticeable, wouldn't you?

Also, on Wednesday/Thursday I'm giving folks the chance to request an alteration in the meeting time in case it's causing problems for most folks, so if 6 PM EST doesn't work for you, we'll see about rearrangements.
